Observations on the Mar-a-Lago Raid

Original Article

There is much to be said about the FBI’s raid on Donald Trump’s home. I won’t try to say it all here. These are a few observations, based on what we know currently: * To get a search warrant, you have to identify a crime that has been committed, and explain how evidence you are looking for is relevant to that crime. At this point, we don’t know what purported crime was the basis for the Mar-a-Lago search warrant. * Earlier today, Attorney General Merrick Garland delivered a brief statement to the press, and declined to take questions. He looked remarkably nervous and said hardly anything. Only two points

No doubt the "warrant" is being doctored as we type.

It all depends on what the meaning of "identify" is. If it's the creation of crimes out of thin air like Russia Collusion or Ukrainian Collusion or an appraisers overvaluation of a slum property in Queens, they might come up with something. Otherwise we need to begin building multiple sets of gallows. Nobody believes for a minute that the FBI had a valid warrant and hiding it from Donald Trump and his lawyers proves that the raid was unconstitutional intimidation by an out of control bunch of thugs.

People in power can do whatever they want in this country. The rule of law is no more. A lot of people in this administration refuse to take questions.

Most see it for what it is. Another attempt to "get" Trump and prevent him from running for office again. I hope it backfires and Garland and Wray are exposed, and it leads to their removal from office.

The government says they were looking for documents related to nuclear weapons that they were afraid might fall into the wrong hands......Well, now you know what sort of evidence the FBI planted and why they didn't want the lawyers to see what they were doing.

What this huge overreach by bureaucrats is going to is FORCE many wishy washy Republicans to stand up for Trump because the administration's actions are so egregious that they cannot be defended. It is a blatant example of a political witch hunt and with the pie-in-the-face failure of the "Jan 6" fools and the continued unraveling of the "Russia" meme and EVERY OTHER FAILED ATTACK on Trump, this will only rile up Republicans for November. It highlights exactly the type of Deep State abuses that Trump fights against and exemplifies the danger associated with an out of control bureaucracy. Even the media, who passionately hate Trump, are nervously shuffling their feet over this. This feels like a "Pearl Harbor" type of attack. More than anything, it caused the enemy to declare itself, galvanized our opposition, a steeled our will. Pearl Harbor caused great damage to life and our military. In the continuing incompetence of the bureaucracy, the damage from this is trivial, although they are desperately trying to spin their Nothing Burger into "something". Trump has that cat-that-ate-the-canary air about him. The "canaries" don't even seem to know that they have been lunch. It even seems like the 15 boxes of documents sitting in Trump's basement might have been "cheese" in a big "Rat" trap. The liberal Rats being too arrogant, hysterical, and stupid to recognize their danger.

Dems have really screwed up, and screwed themselves with this disaster. Whatever they are hysterical about in these documents, you can be certain that there are copies of them in multiple other locations. They will destroy nothing by destroying these documents. Whatever is in them, if it is necessary to be released, will eventually be released when Trump and his team think it is time. They have shot themselves in their collective feet, and made Trump stronger in the process.

The Deep State message has been sent and received...now, whether it is heeded is another matter. I would not be surprised to see FPDT perp walked at some future date prior to the '24 elections by the American Stasi. Charges? The Berria cabal at DOJ can conjure something a Magistrate Judge will sign. FPDT will not be allowed back into the White House.

Margot Cleveland Explains Why Trump Warrant
Casts a Broad Net, Isn't About 'Classified

There’s been a lot of talk about classified documents regarding the FBI raid on President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. Trump himself talked about declassifying documents and there is a report about a “standing order” to declassify documents he had over documents that he was reviewing. But there’s an important thing to note that the criminal statutes alleged in the warrant go right around that — that it isn’t about whether the documents are classified or not. It’s a way of trying to get Trump on something while jacking up the left by screaming “classified” or “nuclear.” But those aren’t the critical questions in the underlying statutes. Indeed, there’s been no evidence

Hollywood studios have ignored a demand from more than 1,500 TV showrunners, writers, and directors urging the companies to commit to “abortion safety protocols,” as well as to promise to stop donating to pro-life political candidates. Instead of addressing the specific demands, studios including Disney, Netflix, Amazon, and NBCUniversal issued a vaguely worded joint statement this week that recommended talent defer to their relevant union health plans. The studios said they are “continuing to evaluate ways that we can best provide for our employees and workers who support our productions.” In their statement, the companies mostly avoided addressing the specific demands, which include commitments to providing abortion travel subsidies

The Justice Department revealed earlier on Friday that Trump’s lawyers would not object to the documents’ release. Meanwhile, a list of items removed from the property shows the FBI recovered eleven sets of classified documents during the search, including some top-secret documents that should only have been available in special government facilities.

The House passed Democrats’ massive spending package on Friday in a 220-207 vote. The bill, which received support from every House Democrat, comes nearly one week after Senate Democrats passed the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” on Sunday in a party-line vote using budget reconciliation, which allows a measure to pass with a simple majority rather than needing to meet a 60-vote threshold. The bill now heads to President Biden’s desk for final approval. The legislation is essentially a pared down version of President Biden’s Build Back Better package

“Get stuff done”? Hardly, as Politico reports this morning on Eric Adams’ attempts to deflect his own failures onto Greg Abbott. Texas has sent perhaps a few hundred illegal immigrants into New York City for the “sanctuary” that Mayor Adams proudly proclaimed last year, which Adams now blames for a breakdown in services to the homeless. That’s nonsense, reports Janaki Chadha. New York City’s shelter system began breaking down when Adams took office, and Adams hasn’t gotten any “stuff done” to resolve it — except to shift blame to Texas: New York City’s sprawling network of homeless shelters are bursting at the seams as rents skyrocket, evictions accelerate and a new mandate

One thing we must give Democrats credit for is their unity. Yes, certain members of the party such as Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) will occasionally diverge from the party line and oppose particularly radical pieces of legislation, but when it comes to big moments and key votes – on impeachment, for instance – Democrats circle the wagons. Contrarily, Republicans tend to fracture at the most inopportune moments, which is why it was refreshing to see virtual unanimity amongst the GOP after Monday’s outrageous raid on former President Donald Trump’s residence Mar-a-Lago. Almost all notable Republicans supported Trump after the ordeal; all except for one.

It is helpful to think of political developments as moves on the chessboard made to advance an objective. In chess, the objective is to win the game, chess being zero-sum. Politics is like that, too, though participants often claim it's not, that they're acting for the greater good, principles at the foundation of democracy, motherhood and apple pie and all that — which is true in some cases but never if Democrats are in the game. This brings me to Attorney General Garland's claim that the Mar-a-Lago home invasion wasn't a raid at all.

Medical education, medical research, and standards of competence have been upended by two related hypotheses: that systemic racism is responsible both for racial disparities in the demographics of the medical profession and for racial disparities in health outcomes. Questioning those hypotheses is professionally suicidal. Vast sums of public and private research funding are being redirected from basic science to political projects aimed at dismantling white supremacy. The result will be declining quality of medical care and a curtailment of scientific progress.

The bill would only reduce annual inflation by 0.1 percentage point over the next five years. The study estimated that the small inflation reduction would begin only "once major deficit-reducing provisions of the legislation are fully implemented, but the Act would have no measurable impact on inflation after 2028.
