The Senate-passed Inflation Reduction Act is expected to have almost zero impact on inflation, according to a new analysis.
A University of Pennsylvania Penn Wharton analysis released Friday revealed the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 would do little to reduce the annual rate of inflation in the midst of the economic recession. The bill would only reduce annual inflation by 0.1 percentage point over the next five years.
The study estimated that the small inflation reduction would begin only "once major deficit-reducing provisions of the legislation are fully implemented, but the Act would have no measurable impact on inflation after 2028.
What nonsense. It will not reduce inflation at all.

Correction, the only way it will reduce inflation is by smothering the economy.

The whole thing starts as a lie, it is a lie, and a continuation of lies from the One Party Rule of the Democrat Socialists. In response, the MSM (except for Fox News and what is left of OAN and others) it is reported as a great victory for Democrats, as if it were a bi-partisan bill. Add to that, it is illegally passed in the House by a desperate, crooked speaker allowing members to vote remotely and by proxy, in violation of House rules. Tell me the response if Republicans had done that, other than 24/7 MSM criticism calling it 3rd world fascism.

It's the No Inflation Reduction Act. What a snow job. But that's typical when demonrats name their odious bills.

We need to turn the House and Senate to republican and defund the IRS so that they can not militarize this agency. The IRS believes you are guilty until you prove that you are innocent. This is crazy but true. The middle class will be destroyed by this agency. Please remember, we have a two tier justice system. The rich will walk free but the middle class will get all the heat.

You reduce inflation by cutting government spending and NOT printing money like it was toilet paper. Quid Pro Joe the Fraud and his traitorous administration are demonstrative LIARS!

Has there ever been a country which has taxed itself into prosperity?
(Question posed to Bubba Clinton who didn’t answer but blamed the question on Rush Limbaugh.)

Reduce inflation by squat while devaluation of dollar continues full speed. If the world reserve currency changes from the dollar to Yuan or Rubles we will see massive impact on our economy.

Common sense suggests that overspending does nothing but create higher inflation.

I cannot imagine that this amount of newly printed money is going to have anything but a negative impact on inflation. But hey, we gotta pass the bill to see how it works. Right?

My estimate (and I am an expert) is that the bill will increase inflation by an additional 3-5%

If the reduction is zero we will be lucky. These ‘schemes’ usually make Wiley Coyote look like a master planner.

Democrat logic: When inflation increases as a result of the "Inflation Reduction Act", their solution will be to have "Inflation Reduction Act II" with even more spending.

When used in the Democrat context, "deficit reduction" is the euphemism for tax increases. The only decrease in spending will be on the military and on police as a law-enforcement agency (all spending increases there will go towards repurposing police and IRS for gestapo-like political oppression).
And like its predecessor (the Build Back Bolshevik Bill), the Inflation Redoubling Act represents a tidal wave of Socialism. Whereas the previous 4 years featured Conservatives trying to extract the thorn of Obamacare, this administration is trying to embed it as a permanent politic.

Good news! We'll save another 16 cents on our July 4 weenie roast! That is, as long as we walk to the grocery store, because gas price increases will eat that up several times over.

Anyone with any economic sense knows damn well spending more money doesn't bring down inflation.
