Google executives are telling their employees to shape up or ship out, warning that layoffs are coming if results don’t meet expectations. Employees who work in the Google Cloud sales department said that senior leadership told them that there will be an “overall examination of sales productivity and productivity in general.” If third quarter results “don’t look up, [then] there will be blood on the streets,” according to a message conveyed to the sales team. The warning was first reported by Insider. Employees told the news site that they are fearful of layoffs after the company quietly extended its hiring freeze this month without making an announcement.

Representative Liz Cheney admitted Wednesday that she is “thinking about” running for president in 2024, hours after losing the Republican primary for Wyoming’s only House seat to Trump-backed Harriet Hageman in a landslide. Hageman, a political newcomer, bested the 56-year-old daughter of former vice president Dick Cheney by more than 30 percentage points with 90 percent of the vote counted, handing former president Donald Trump what is perhaps his biggest victory yet this primary cycle by knocking off his chief antagonist in Congress. Republican candidate for Congress Jennifer-Ruth Green’s campaign has shifted the Democrat stronghold of Indiana’s first congressional district to a “toss-up” election, according to the latest rating by the Cook Political Report. The Northwest Indiana district, represented by first-term Democrat Rep. Frank Mrvan, has not sent a Republican candidate to Congress since 1932. Cook Political Report switched the district from “lean Democrat” to a “toss-up” after Green raised more than $275,000 in cash during the campaign’s second quarter. Green raised $561,329.50 from April 1 to June 30, compared to Marvin’s $355,906.37, Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings show.

This is becoming a popular line of reasoning for Republican voters looking to the 2024 presidential election. Republicans are getting comfortable with saying the hard part out loud – it’s time for a younger, nondramatic version of Trump to run for president. It’s one thing for regular voters to deliver such an opinion (and completely understandable), it’s more noticeable when it comes from a loyal Trump supporter or a former member of Trump’s administration. Granted, the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago reminded everyone of the never-ending drama that surrounds Trump and the continuous overreach his opponents provide in their quest to prevent him from running for president again. Washington - Millions of Americans will be able to buy hearing aids without a prescription later this fall, under a long-awaited rule finalized Tuesday. The Food and Drug Administration said the new regulation cuts red tape by creating a new class of hearing aids that don’t require a medical exam, a prescription and other specialty evaluations. The devices will be sold online or over-the-counter at pharmacies and other retail stores. The devices are intended for adults with mild to moderate hearing problems. The FDA estimates that nearly 30 million adults could potentially benefit from hearing aids, but only about one-fifth of people with hearing problems use the devices currently.
