Democrats botch one bid after another
to woo Latino voters

For a party that is desperately trying to retain Latino voters who are fleeing to Republicans ahead of midterms, let's just paraphrase President Trump a bit about Democrat outreach efforts to these voters with "they are not sending their best." Actually, it's one blunder after another from the Democrats in their Latino outreach, each of which amounts to an insult more likely to repel than attract Latino voters to the Democrats. The latest was in Arizona, as reported by the Washington Free Beacon: A new Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee ad aimed at wooing Latinos says Democrats

The Keystone Klowns are supposed to win over, not repel, Latino voters. But well...

When you only acknowledge people when you need their votes, promising much and delivering little, they're eventually going to turn on you....and the Dems have the nerve to act surprised when this happens!

My parish has a large number of Latino members. For the most part, they are religious, family oriented, hard working and they do not like to be condescended to. And they HATE the term Latinx.

I spend a lot of time in Texas. They are very openly religious. You see a lot of religious symbolism everywhere. I don't see this when I'm in the northern states. My brother in law is Hispanic and he is very conservative and always votes Republican -- in fact, he highly dislikes the Democrat party. The Democrat party has offended a lot of Christian people.

When you believe Zinn's Marxist fraud book which purported to be history, you are misinformed, disinformed and uninformed, all at the same time. So....this is what those misinformed, disinformed and uninformed Dems will try to do. THEY believe these lies, and will be forever stumbing over barriers....the facts...which will cause them endless problems. When everything you "know" is false, untrue, fraudulent - you'll be having troubles your whole life until you get right with the truth. Dems have no interaction with the truth on most days. When they do, it smacks them in the shins.

#3 - Our small town parish is about 40% Hispanic. Strong families, usually at least three children. Somehow all the small business owners held on during the lockdowns and are still operating. Its nuts here in rural California. People have conservative values, but still vote for Dems.

Tijuana goes into lockdown after cars
burned across city

Many Tijuana residents took shelter Friday evening after burning vehicles appeared throughout the city in what is suspected to be a coordinated act of organized crime. At least 19 vehicles, including both privately-owned and public transport, were ignited in different cities in the state of Baja California, according to local authorities, and in some cases blocked the roadways. Similar vehicle fires were used earlier in the week in the states of Jalisco and Guanajuato to send a cartel message to the Mexican government after the detention of several cartel members in an operation by the Mexican military. It is not clear whether the acts of violence in Tijuana are related.

Less than 20 miles away from where I'm writing this in San Diego, the next city over is exploding into some kind of Ukraine-like hellscape. According to local station CBS8: TIJUANA, Baja California — The United States Consulate General in Tijuana is instructing employees to shelter in place after unrest in the region began on Friday. The U.S. consulate is warning government employees near Tijuana, Mexicali, Rosarito, Ensenada, Tecate to shelter in place until further notice due to vehicle fires, roadblocks and heavy police activity. U.S. citizens are being told to avoid the area, seek secure shelter, and monitor local media for updates.

With the wholly illegal and unconstitutional FBI raid on President Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago on Monday, in search of documents they have long had access to, there can no longer be any doubt about the full communization of the American left. The thorough weaponization and politicization of each of our law enforcement institutions is now undeniable; the left has crossed Caesar’s Rubicon. The Democrats are so determined to destroy Trump, they are willing to reveal their true colors: They are all Stalinist communists now. They’ve just rammed through a nearly $800 billion bill that will obviously exacerbate inflation, as well as transform the IRS into

To understand how deep the corruption is at the Department of Justice, and not just at the top, all one needs to do is compare the treatment of former Clinton National Security Advisor Sandy Berger and former President Donald Trump. Whatever concoction the DOJ serves up to frame Trump, it will not match what Berger actually confessed to doing. In April 2002, former President Bill Clinton designated Berger as his representative to review intelligence documents in advance of the various hearings on 9/11. As a 2007 report by the House Committee on Government Oversight and Reform made clear, Berger did not exactly welcome this assignment.

Is nothing too gross for Trump-hating Democrats? The latest stunt comes from Russian-hoax-writing Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporter, Maggie Haberman, according to Axios biggie Mike Allen: Remember our toilet scoop in Axios AM earlier this year? Maggie Haberman's forthcoming book about former President Trump will report that White House residence staff periodically found wads of paper clogging a toilet — and believed the former president, a notorious destroyer of Oval Office documents, was the flusher. Why it matters: Destroying records that should be preserved is potentially illegal. Trump denied it and called Haberman, whose New York Times coverage he follows compulsively, a "maggot."

Democrats got a twofer with the cave-in of Democrat Sen. Kyrsten Sinema on their badly misnamed "Inflation Reduction Act" of 2022, paving the way for the $700 billion bill's passage in Congress -- the joy of taxing, and the joy of spending. Now they are hailing this as some kind of achievement, something that could save their bacon come the November midterms, or else trash the economy enough as Republicans take over to make voters cry out for the Democrats' return. The crowing for this disastrous bill, badly misnamed as the "Inflation Reduction Act," is incredible.

Tuesday's primary in Arizona, after a long and extended count, has come back with a solidly Trump-endorsed result. Do Democrats have reason to worry? Well, Townhall's Katie Pavlich has noticed that incumbent Democrat Sen. Mark Kelly, who will face off against Trump-endorsed Republican Blake Masters who won in a cakewalk, certainly sounds nervous: In an email to supporters, Kelly noted the strength of Masters' Trump endorsement and fretted about low fundraising dollars. For President Trump, this morning's got to be sweet. His endorsed candidates, one after another, won over other GOP candidates, in Tuesday's primaries. Those coveted endorsements went for congressional seats in Arizona, Michigan, and sort-of Missouri, where it appeared that President Trump endorsed both candidates with the first name 'Eric.' The counting is still on in places like Washington, so it may not have been a full sweep, but it came very, very close. Many of the candidates Trump endorsed were political upstarts, not incumbents, which are harder to win, so the primary victories were all the more impressive.

At a time of rising unemployment and flight from one-party blue cities, what should Los Angeles come up with but a new plan to hire foreigners in county government posts? According to the Los Angeles Times: U.S. citizenship will no longer be a requirement for many Los Angeles County government jobs, including department heads. On Tuesday, the L.A. County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion allowing the county, with a few exceptions, to hire noncitizens to lead county agencies — excluding the chief probation officer — and for any other county jobs where state or federal law doesn’t mandate citizenship.

One thing we must give Democrats credit for is their unity. Yes, certain members of the party such as Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) will occasionally diverge from the party line and oppose particularly radical pieces of legislation, but when it comes to big moments and key votes – on impeachment, for instance – Democrats circle the wagons. Contrarily, Republicans tend to fracture at the most inopportune moments, which is why it was refreshing to see virtual unanimity amongst the GOP after Monday’s outrageous raid on former President Donald Trump’s residence Mar-a-Lago. Almost all notable Republicans supported Trump after the ordeal; all except for one.

It is helpful to think of political developments as moves on the chessboard made to advance an objective. In chess, the objective is to win the game, chess being zero-sum. Politics is like that, too, though participants often claim it's not, that they're acting for the greater good, principles at the foundation of democracy, motherhood and apple pie and all that — which is true in some cases but never if Democrats are in the game. This brings me to Attorney General Garland's claim that the Mar-a-Lago home invasion wasn't a raid at all.

The post–George Floyd racial reckoning has hit the field of medicine like an earthquake. Medical education, medical research, and standards of competence have been upended by two related hypotheses: that systemic racism is responsible both for racial disparities in the demographics of the medical profession and for racial disparities in health outcomes. Questioning those hypotheses is professionally suicidal. Vast sums of public and private research funding are being redirected from basic science to political projects aimed at dismantling white supremacy. The result will be declining quality of medical care and a curtailment of scientific progress.

A University of Pennsylvania Penn Wharton analysis released Friday revealed the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 would do little to reduce the annual rate of inflation in the midst of the economic recession. The bill would only reduce annual inflation by 0.1 percentage point over the next five years. The study estimated that the small inflation reduction would begin only "once major deficit-reducing provisions of the legislation are fully implemented, but the Act would have no measurable impact on inflation after 2028.

They were a hybrid of traditional technology and a modern fitness company, and they jumped out to an exceptionally quick start. By the time the COVID pandemic took hold in March 2020 and changed the world forever, Peloton was poised to reap the rewards of a brilliant idea and impeccable timing.
