Africa revives push for colonial-era reparations

Original Article

For years, Africa's push for reparations from European nations for colonial-era wrongs has been piecemeal. Now the continent wants to consolidate ongoing campaigns. In a joint initiative, African countries are renewing their efforts to obtain reparations from European countries for the transatlantic slave trade and other colonial-era wrongs committed centuries ago. The slave trade — which affected millions of Africans — was the largest forced migration in history and one of the most inhumane. CORRECTION*

Americans of African descent should be demanding reparations from THEM !!!

Other blacks and Arab Muslims were equally involved. Will they be included too?

We've been giving them food to eat for longer than I can remember, six decades, and they have gotten enough. The rest of the world needs paid back for all the welfare that has been given to Africa over the last couple of centuries involving food and medicine given to them because they are always in a constant state of drought and starvation. Everything they are given ends up in the hands of a few crooked politicians. Kind of like our country now.

The slaves were SOLD to the traders not captured 'in the wild'. So however barbaric and evil, shouldn't reparations come from those sellers? Were it not for European colonial activities, most of sub-Saharan Africa would likely still be tribal and undeveloped.

Without colonialism, contemporary Africans would still be running around in a loincloth with bones in their noses...... and trading their fellow blacks into slavery.

Africans who were sold hundreds of years ago should go back to their own people and start asking them for reparations. They sold then and they are selling them now. BTW, illegals coming into the US today are being sold for $89 per person. just ask the Mexican cartel, they will tell you where and how you purchase one. Otherwise ask Mayorkas. Furthermore, every country in Europe had slaves, white slaves. 83% of Russians were slaves who were 'ruled' by a small aristocracy and a small middle class. Every other European country had them as well. For that reason, most European countries did not import blacks from Africa, other than England. Portugal then saw a chance of buying them in Africa where their relatives sold them gladly for some beads. Spain on the other hand should consider suing for reparations as well having been occupied by some people who were not Spanish and hung around for 400 years.

Jam it. Billions invested in Africa and it is still a 3rd world stinkhole almost every single square mile. A few areas hold on to the advanced culture and technology from the outside, but most has slipped back to the 18th century where they normally live.

Finally, a perfect example of black logic! The people whose ancestors were NOT TAKEN as slaves, but remained free in Africa demand that the people who TOOK those-who-were-not-their-ancestors as slaves pay reparations to them. Perfect! So it becomes clear that Whites owe reparations to blacks regardless of their status as slave descendants or not. This has the complete approval of Ibram X. Kendi and all his gibsmedat acolytes.

No amount of reparations will ever be enough. Ever! Any reparations paid will largely end up in the pockets of the African elite. The more corrupt the country, the more likely this will happen Did any of the tabbaco settlement monies benfit smokers? Or did it pay for state spend-a-thons. Likewise the drug settlements? Did any of the money going to BLM ever help a black citizen that wasn't a director of BLM? ITS ALL A GRIFT.

As if on cue, a lousy old myth about women, motherhood and work is making a return, too: that many of these women are better off for cutting their (paid) work hours and downscaling their professional aspirations in favor of tending to family responsibilities.

The Trump administration’s anti-immigration, anti-civil rights stance has made it easy to classify the president’s loyalists as a homogenous mob of white nationalists. But take a look at the FBI’s posters showing people wanted in the insurrectionist assault on the U.S. Capitol: Among the many White faces are a few that are clearly Latino or African American. Such diversity highlights the fact that President Trump’s share of the Latino vote in November actually rose over 2016, notwithstanding years of incendiary rhetoric targeting Mexicans and other Latino communities.  CORRECTION*
