FTA: “even in our currently polarized nation, it’s my hope that the facts will win the day, that the truth will always matter, that journalism and journalist will thrive.” Shep is delusional if he ever thought he behaved in accordance with his statement.

Oh happy day! I never turn on Fox this early in the day but for some strange reason I did just in time to hear Shep sign off. I knew something was up when he went on and on about how much he loved working for the network. As good as Fox has been to him it’s still must be hard to know that most of the people who watch it are not too crazy about him. As he leaves to greener whatever perhaps it’s the beginning, we live in hope, that Fox will do some cleaning up of the much disliked Libs.

Good redness. I remember when he got into a fight with a lady in New Orleans over a parking space after the big hurricane that hit there. Right there I knew that he was a fruitcake! The way the FNC is going don’t be surprised if they don’t give Smith’s showtime to someone like Barack Obama, Paul Ryan, or Donna Brazil and move it to primetime.

Please don't ban me for saying this, but early on I liked him. Then came the New Orleans debacle, and I wised up. I remember someone commenting on this site "I'm sure there is no Mrs. Smith". I'm a bit naive, but I caught on. He really became a drama queen, and I quit watching him years ago. When people are driven by their ideology, they are no longer journalists or commentators.

BREAKING NEWS!! Fox News has just announced that with the departure of our fine journalist Shepard Smith FNC has wasted no time in recruiting a news anchor of equal journalistic skills to fill the spot and keep the show at the highest level it has always maintained. It is our great pleasure to report that Rachel Maddow will take over the 3:00 spot starting on 10/14/2108. We look forward to her keeping FNC Fair and Balanced(balanced more left than right) and the success she will bring.

Former Secretary of State John Kerry drew some comparisons between his ill-fated run for president in 2004 and former Vice President Joe Biden’s presidential campaign. Republicans are using dirty tricks on Biden, Kerry told reporters Sunday at a rally in New Hampshire. He suggested President Donald Trump’s criticisms of Biden’s son’s business dealings in Ukraine are similar to those leveled against his Vietnam War record in the 1960s. “This is not a new strategy. They did it with me, about my military record,” he said at the rally.

Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed in a new interview that when his son Hunter was a board member of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings while he was in office, no one informed him that it could pose a problem. Biden insisted again that Hunter did nothing wrong, but this time appeared to fault his staff for not cluing him in that there could be concerns about his son's involvement with the foreign company that had been under investigation while Biden was in office and dealing with Ukraine policy.

We all know that social media is bad for the soul. If someone is in, as they say, ‘a bad place’, a good friend wouldn’t send them onto Twitter. A good friend would tell them to switch off, put away the iPhone, and get some fresh air, away from the fervid online swamp of liking, blue-ticks, trolls, and ratios. George Conway needs that sort of friend right now. The poor man is clearly not well. His wife Kellyanne works for Donald Trump. He hates Trump and goes around saying how awful the 45th president is. There’s been all sorts of speculation as to the health of relationship,

Is the ghost of John McCain haunting Senator Lindsey Graham? The South Carolina Senator went on Maria Bartiromo’s Fox News show, Sunday Morning Futures, to throw a wet blanket on conservatives’ dreams of a Senate trial that would get to the bottom of the plot against President Trump. He wants to leave all those rocks in place, turning nothing over to see what crawls out. Instead, once the House managers present their case, he wants a quick vote, presumably ending in dismissal of the case. In particular, Graham ruled out calling Adam Schiff to testify.

"What happened to Drudge?"A lot of people have been asking that question lately. If you talk to conservatives these days, you'll hear that Matt Drudge's eponymous news aggregation site has gone over to the dark side—that Matt's joined the anti-Trump resistance. And now, Rasmussen Reports, an arguably reputable polling operation, is calling Drudge out on Twitter, even suggesting that the site has been sold. The whole kerfuffle appears to have begun at the end of November, when the Bongino Report, touted as a Trump-friendly alternative to Drudge, launched. Bongino taunted Drudge with a pair of tweets:

Longtime NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw came on CBS’s The Late Show Monday to talk about his new Watergate book and compare the impeachment inquiry of Richard Nixon to the current impeachment of President Trump. While he was there, he also boasted how journalists in his day could be counted on to report accurately; but today, people got their news from social media which couldn’t be trusted. While comparing his time covering Watergate to the current impeachment proceedings, Brokaw told host Stephen Colbert how journalists used to be considered trustworthy, because they had plenty of time to do their own sourcing and could control what was reported:
