Bill Barr, who served as attorney general during the Trump administration, said Wednesday that the Justice Department appears to be “getting very close” to having sufficient evidence to indict former president Trump.
Law enforcement is investigating former president Donald Trump for removal or destruction of records, obstruction of an investigation, and violating the Espionage Act, according to the search warrant for Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago.
Barr said during an appearance on Fox News that government investigators must consider if they have a technical case against Trump and said, “I think they’re getting very close to that point, frankly.” He added that the DOJ must weigh what the potential fallout

Michelle Obama took a veiled swipe at former President Donald Trump by talking about the 'peaceful transition of power' and democracy being stronger than our 'divisions' as she returned to the White House for the first time since her husband Barack's term ended to unveil their official portraits. The former first lady was on the verge of tears as she said 'a girl like me—she was never supposed to be up there next to Jacqueline Kennedy and Dolly Madison' in the ceremony Wednesday with President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden. While the former president joked about how artist Sharon Sprung made his wife look 'fine,'

Queen Elizabeth II has died today aged 96.
Her son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, is now King Charles III, as the world grieves his mother, Britain's longest-reigning monarch.
All Her Majesty's children had rushed to Balmoral today after doctors became 'concerned' for her health. Hours later she died, surrounded by her family.
At 6.30pm her death was confirmed. A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: 'The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow'.

Republicans in the House are preparing to roll out their midterm agenda, which they hope will give voters a reason to vote for them and not just against Democrats.
The brainchild of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the “Commitment to America” will have four parts dealing with the economy, security, education/health care, and government accountability.
McCarthy’s office has indicated the Commitment to America will debut in Pittsburgh on September 19. It’s loosely based on the “Contract with American” concept created for the 1994 midterm election that was credited with helping the GOP take over both the House and Senate.

Because most people don’t know a farmer personally anymore, everyone should realize that they don’t make piles of money producing our food. A good year can be followed by three bad ones, and 2022 has been a burden. Between record heat waves in the U.S. and abroad, droughts in the middle of the country, fertilizer shortages, and rising costs for just about every farm input, many American farms are on the brink. Everyone will feel the pinch in continued food price increases and shortages at the store.
As bad as the agricultural outlook is in America, it is far worse in Europe. The dedication to a green energy suicide pact

Former Attorney General William Barr during an interview on Fox News last week said that if Trump did indeed have a standing order to declassify all documents that he took with him as he left the White House, that would amount to a worse abuse than actually taking the documents. (snip) Barr called the order to appoint a special master a “deeply flawed” decision. (snip) Now, Barr is urging the Department of Justice to appeal Judge Cannon’s “deeply flawed” ruling.
For the media this is the gold they dream of, a former Trump cabinet member attacking him. They carried on with glee.

California officials say it will cost $14 billion to upgrade aging wastewater facilities that are dumping nutrients from treated human sewage into San Francisco Bay, which are feeding a giant algae bloom that has lingered for more than two months and killed tens of thousands of fish. The algae bloom, which appeared in late July, has grown to an immense size because of the tons of nutrients from urine and feces of the eight million Bay Area residents that is released into the waters daily—one plant alone dumps 85 million gallons a day that contains 5.5 tons of nitrogen. Scientists say the bloom was triggered by climate change,

What can be said that hasn’t already been said about the erstwhile bartender from the Bronx, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who desperately craves attention like Michael Moore frantically searching for his car keys so he can race to McDonald’s for a bag of Quarter Pounders with Cheese?
What could be more galling than a 32-year-old congresswoman who sprints to every TV camera she can find and has become the darling of the left-wing media who take her every word as “progressive” wisdom, yet she hasn’t sponsored or co-sponsored a single piece of legislation of note? Moreover, she spends almost zero time in her congressional district, and yet is touted by some

Though the race between Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) and his Republican challenger Herschel Walker has been heating up in recent weeks, Democrat Stacey Abrams has not been able to recapture the supposed magic of her failed 2018 gubernatorial campaign against then-Sec. of State Brian Kemp, where the mainstream media and her fellow woke Democrats couldn’t crow enough about Abrams’ so-called “skills” at electrifying the Democratic vote.Indeed, polling to date shows Abrams has lagged behind Kemp in every poll taken on their match-up save one:

An Emily Carr University professor who made a career as an indigenous artist and scholar has resigned after it was discovered she is white.

“Emily Carr University takes very seriously the allegations that a member of our faculty made a false claim to Indigenous identity,” the statement read.

NEWNAN, Ga. — Georgia Democrats have grown increasingly pessimistic about Stacey Abrams’s chances of ousting Gov. Brian Kemp from office, pointing to her struggles to rally key parts of her party’s coalition and her inability to appeal to a slice of moderate Republican voters who can decide the state’s elections. Public and private polls have consistently shown her trailing Mr. Kemp, a Republican seeking a second term. And, in a particularly worrying sign for Ms. Abrams, polls also show she is drawing less support than the other high-profile Democrat on the ballot, Senator Raphael Warnock, who is seeking a first
