Republican state officials are readying plans to punish woke banks which push anti-fossil fuel policies and adhere to so-called environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards. West Virginia announced last week it would bar five major financial institutions, including BlackRock, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan, from entering into banking contracts with the state treasurer's office or any state agency. Each of the five corporations had committed to policies limiting commercial engagement with the fossil fuel industry which paid a whopping $769 million in taxes to West Virginia's state government.

Businesses are typically beholden to their owners, i.e., investors, and to their customer base. Their responsiveness is proportional to market forces, market share, and size of ownership share but is also influenced by how loud the noise is of shareholders. The left has gained control of many wealthy owners like Blackrock and has been clearly the loudest of shareholders and blackmailers. It is wonderful that some states have responded to the dangers of ESG but WE need to be louder shareholders than the Left if we want to out shout their noise.

Good. Not sure any of the banks in the Peoples' Republic of Colorado will feel any pressure to unwoke, but keeping an eye on it.

I realize that a number of people on and off this site that do not like Glenn Beck. However, I believe he deserves some credit for "sounding the alarm" on the evils and horror that ESG policies would inflict on our country. Some states actually picked up on Mr. Beck's rants and took steps to fight back against this
nightmare. Hopefully, the tide can be turned.

My great regional bank Iberia was bought out, and less than three months later another buy out is in the works.
The day they announce that the Canadian bank named DOMINION is the new owner, I'm out.

We were out for dinner last night and had a conversation about ESG, some didn’t know about it and what is going on, I gave Glen Beck full credit for bringing this to our attention years ago. #7 is correct. When I listen to Beck I want to hide under my bed but he has been right and years ago he tied all of Biden’s Russia crap together exposing all of the globalists involved. But since it was Beck it was ignored

This is good news, and kudos to the Republicans for finally standing up. We have to fight, or be overrun, which is what has been happening.

My most used credit card was Chase and my travel expenses made theit banksters good money. After they cancelled Genersl Flynn I stopped using the card a called them a month ago to cancel. I told the person at Chase they had gone political and I was done. I know his silence was because he was staring at my 20+ years of yearly travel and everyday charges. If the fascists did it to Flynn what is to stop them from locking up my card?

Speaking of Chase (spit!)...we just got an email from them informing us of their new policy on the Premier Checking Account that starting August 28 will now be charging $25 a month unless you maintain at least a $15,000 average balance in your account. Buh-byeeeeee, Chase!

I watch carefully any company or business bank that is woke...I use a local bank for my needs and pay all purchases with U S cash...same for companies that supply my local grocery...coke and Pepsi are still on the shelves no matter what enticements they offer...and Dr. Pepper is flying off the shelves....and now...Mr. Pillow is branching out into coffee...will be buying some to try soon...WE the people are in control of our wallets...and DC can't function without our taxes...WE are the power of OUR government...

There is power in numbers and since conservative states tend to run the most fiscally responsible governments, this should have a big impact. Blue states can’t invest what they haven’t got, unless it is given to them by Uncle Feddy.

I banked with Wells Fargo since the late sixties. Did away with them last year, went to a locally owned bank. I will not be scolded by some bank using my money to make themselves rich.
