Lindsey Graham accused Fulton County DA Fani Willis of “playing politics” with her subpoena in an investigation of the 2020 election. Yesterday, a judge agreed with Graham in general about the Democrat DA’s bias, if not specifically in regard to the subpoena for Graham. A Fulton County judge blocked Willis from investigating a leading GOP candidate in an alleged “fake elector” scheme, because Willis not only endorsed his Democratic rival at the same time she launched the probe but also held a fundraiser for him a few months later: A judge ruled that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her staff cannot question Georgia’s Republican pick for lieutenant governor

Gee, at least there's one judge left in America who knows what conflict of interest and "appearance of impropriety" means. Obviously, this judge will never be seated on the DC Federal Court.

Optics is a branch of physics which studies the reflection and refraction of light. "Appearances" is the word that these ignoramuses with limited vocabularies are looking for. And it isn't just the appearance. The DA is a political hack.

Contesting the 2020 presidential election is grounds for legal punishment? The only problem is a conflict of interests? Let's say the election was stolen (hypothetical, real, whatever), you can't contest it without putting your political career at risk... So either you go quietly away and let all elections that are stolen remain stolen, or you contest it and they put you away and the election that was stolen remains stolen. Democracy: Communist Edition... And they wonder why we hold the 2nd Amendment so dear.

It's a shame that mostly red Georgia has let Atlanta turn into a blue hell hole of crime, corruption & malfeasance. Right up to the RINO governor.

NY Times Opinion: If something happens

Author Jeffrey Frank has written two biographies of American presidents, one about Harry S. Truman and another about the relationship between Dwight D. Eisenhower and his Vice President Richard Nixon. He draws on that knowledge of history to argue that President Biden is doing a poor job preparing VP Harris to succeed him. Vice President Kamala Harris, who was a first-term senator from California before entering the White House, hasn’t been given the sort of immersive experiences or sustained, high-profile tasks that would deepen and broaden her expertise in ways Americans could see and appreciate. In the modern era, of course, a 68-day trip for a vice president would be laughable.

Before departing for its summer recess, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to take up Moore v. Harper, a redistricting dispute between North Carolina’s legislature and Supreme Court. The latter struck down two congressional maps enacted by the former and then imposed its own redistricting scheme. The North Carolina General Assembly petitioned SCOTUS to rule that this violated the U.S. Constitution. Predictably, the mere fact that the justices agreed to hear the case at all has produced panic among Democrats and a deluge of dire predictions about the demise of democracy.

Hollywood comedians seem to have forgotten how to be funny when it comes to liberal politicians. Jimmy Kimmel, for example, has long since given up on the concept, becoming instead simply a mouthpiece for the Democrats and whatever their latest narrative is. He even “interviewed” Joe Biden where Biden descended into delusion, pushing false claims on his show. But Kimmel had former Saturday Night Live legend Dana Carvey stand in for him and Carvey was willing to mock Joe Biden with some real comedy when Kimmel is not. First, he did some of his funny old impressions like George H.W. Bush (“not gonna do it”) and the Church Lady.

A federal appeals court overturned a ruling by a lower court to allow Georgia’s heartbeat law to go into effect immediately. Normally, the law would not go into effect for weeks after the ruling but the court issued a second order allowing the law to go into effect immediately. The law is one that is from 2019. It had been banned from taking effect until now. It is one that states that abortions are not allowed once a heartbeat is detected. This can happen as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. There are exceptions for rape and incest, as long as a police report is filed,

Has Joe Biden become so unpopular that late-night comics might actually move away from their clapter production and start being funny again? Bill Maher made this transition months ago, but the rest of the late-night comics have been as loathe to target Biden for pointed political jokes as they were with Barack Obama. Or so it has seemed, anyway; late-night TV comedy has been pointless for well over a decade as it went from being funny to being didactic. However, it appears that Joe Biden’s infamous fist-bump with Mohammed Bin Salman shook loose some ancient instincts on CBS’ Late Night.

It’s being called the Great Realignment. Allahpundit mentioned it yesterday at the end of this post. In short, the most recent NY Times polls shows that Democrats have more support among college-educated whites than they do among minorities. In a piece about this phenomenon for Axios, Josh Kraushaar writes:Shifts in the demographics of the two parties’ supporters — taking place before our eyes — are arguably the biggest political story of our time… Democrats are statistically tied with Republicans among Hispanics on the generic congressional ballot, according to a New York Times-Siena College poll out this week. Dems held a 47-point edge with Hispanics during the 2018 midterms…

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released two reports Wednesday morning that confirm the fiscal incompetence of the Biden administration and its confederates on Capitol Hill. The BLS reported that the Consumer Price Index rose yet again in June: “Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 9.1 percent before seasonal adjustment.” The BLS also released its Real Earnings Summary: “Real average hourly earnings decreased 3.6 percent, seasonally adjusted, from June 2021 to June 2022.”

Elon Musk and Twitter may be stuck with each other — and that could change the trajectory of the long-running battle over speech on the platform. After Musk pulled out of his deal to buy Twitter, Angelo Carusone, president of progressive watchdog Media Matters for America, hailed it as a step back from a “dark future” where the platform acts as a “supercharged engine of radicalization.” Donald Trump Jr., writing on his father’s Truth Social app, declared there is “zero chance of free thought or speech” on Twitter going forward.

Among Hunter Biden’s contacts is the FBI’s Cyber Division Section Chief Michael Harrington.Did you catch Hunter’s note at the bottom? “Only contact if absolutely necessary.” By his own admission, Biden lost not one but three laptops during his various crack binges, so I’m guessing that “absolutely necessary” might have come more often than anyone would have guessed. The Democrats badly need to consolidate their 2020 gains in Georgia. Their tiny majority in the U.S. Senate may well stand or fall based on the fate of Sen. Raphael Warnock’s reelection bid. Moreover, they want Stacey Abrams in the Governor’s Mansion because they need to control how the Peach State’s election integrity law is enforced in 2024. Considering her frequent denunciations of the statute, strict adherence to its provisions would hardly be her top priority as Governor. It appears unlikely, however, that Georgia’s voters intend to entrust her with that responsibility.

Don’t go, Boss! That’s my strong advice to President Trump as he prepares to deliver a speech in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday at his alleged “think tank,” the America First Policy Institute (AFPI). Yes, it is important for President Trump to have a well-credentialed stable of policy experts capable of both building a 2024 platform and finding solid MAGA talent to populate a new Trump Administration. But the AFPI Trojan Horse—whose leadership is now bragging about how it will staff Trump’s “shadow cabinet”—is decidedly not that.

Speaking virtually to attendees at the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives conference in Orlando, Florida, Biden said that Republicans who refused to ban so-called “weapons of war” are not telling the truth when they claim to support law enforcement. In particular, Biden called out Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott (R-FL) for refusing to support Democrats’ gun control efforts. “Being a cop today is a hell of a lot harder than it’s ever been,” Biden said during his speech.

I recently wrote a column about why I believed Trump should not run in 2024. I was wrong. I allowed my distaste for Trump’s personality to override his virtues, which are considerable. Some people want Trump without his vices. I was among them -- until yesterday, when I watched and listened to Tom Klingenstein’s speech titled “Trump’s virtues.” It was masterful and shamed me that I did not make the distinction between Trump's character and his virtues, the former being deeply flawed, the latter being almost perfect. I need to man up in my defense of the former President's virtues.
