Guns and Masculinity

In opening comments Wednesday for the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on so-called “assault weapons,” Democrat Senator and gun-confiscation enthusiast Dick Durbin threatened that it is “time to name and shame” the makers of AR-15s, the rifle Democrats have demonized as “weapons of war.” Gun manufacturers aren’t the trigger-pullers behind mass shootings, but they are a much easier and more politically useful scapegoat to target than the criminally insane minds of the actual shooters. Democrats aren’t interested in ending gun violence anyway; if they were, they would be holding hearings on the shootings perpetrated by gang members in Democrat-run inner cities, by terrorists, and by the criminally insane.

What's next Durbin? Going after car manufacturers because THE CAR killed people in a crash? You can start by suing the manufacturer of the car that ran over people during the Christmas parade.

Here's the question for the progressives, If guns are bad for individual citizens (whether they are for justified uses or not), are they not worse for government whose military weapons are FAR more powerful and numerous. If justified shootings, like the mall good guy, are still bad, then are not ALL police shootings, military shootings, military attacks (even on ISIS, etc.) also bad? We killed millions of Germans, Japanese, and others in WWII. WE felt it was justified but by the dems standard, we should be appalled and eliminate all military weapons so it can't happen ever again. So my answer to Durbin and the progressive idiots is, outlaw all government held weapons first across the world first (good luck with that but if you are honest in your concerns you will at least try), THEN we will talk about the weapons held by individuals. Meanwhile, guns for individual defense are at least as important and justified as weapons for government defense purposes.

The AR-15 pattern rifle is NOT a “weapon of war”. There is not a military force on earth that arms their soldiers with semi-automatic-only rifles.

Any good gun is just a tool. And a good, accurate rifle that is easy to hit with is a great tool for competition, hunting and PRESERVATION OF LIBERTY by protecting us from totalitarian thugs like Dumb Dick Durban. The Constitution says "the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." It is not followed by "except for scary guns that totalitarian thugs don't like"......NOT THERE. They have no right to restrict them. Eighteen years ago Congress realized that the ten year ban on "scary looking rifles we don't like" had done nothing at all to reduce crime and refused to extend it, and it was eliminated. Crime with rifles is still a vanishingly small fraction of violent crime, typically 1% to 3%. If you had a magic wand and made ALL RIFLES disappear instantly, not just the "scary looking ones" that they anti-gun folks are hating on right now, that would leave 97 to 99% of all crimes with guns unaffected. This is NOT a real issue of crime, but it is a real issue of FREEDOM and ability to effectively oppose tyranny.

Since his elevation to the pontificate in 2013, Pope Francis has consistently echoed the globalist narrative that we make sacrifices for the planet in “reparation” for the “sins” committed against her. His whole demeanor has been ecological as opposed to Catholic, though his latest stunt takes the cake. His meatless sacrifice is a mockery of the true sacrifice that Christians render to God Francis is now urging the youth to “make noise” to be heard and to eat less meat as a means of curbing global warming and saving the planet. in a July 6 letter addressed to the participants in the European Union’s 2022 Youth Conference, the pope said.

In just seven decades, America’s conventional (non-organic) farmers increased per-acre corn yields by an incredible 500% – while using steadily less water, fuel, fertilizer and pesticides – feeding millions more people. Among the many reasons for this miracle is their ability to control weeds that would otherwise steal moisture and nutrients from this vital food, animal feed and fuel (ethanol) crop. Long-lasting herbicides don’t just control weeds. They also promote no-till farming, which helps farmers save costly tractor fuel and avoid breaking up soils – thereby reducing erosion, retaining soil moisture, safeguarding soil organisms, and locking carbon dioxide in the soil (reducing risks of “dangerous manmade climate change,” some say).

We're now about three and a half months out from the upcoming November elections, where voters will not only cast ballots in the midterms but gubernatorial races across the country, including in Georgia. The race is a re-match from 2018, with Gov. Brian Kemp (R) facing Stacey Abrams (D). While the race was, until recently, considered a "Toss-Up," Cook Political Report has now shifted the race to the "Lean Republican" territory. Sabato's Crystal Ball and Inside Elections had already changed their ratings to "Lean Republican" and "Tilt Republican," respectively. "As Axios reported, the majority of Kemp’s money has come from in-state donors ($26.2 million), while $10.2 million of Abrams’s

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, who has skillfully managed the Rose City into lawless, drug-soaked decline now can boast of another new low under his mayorship: his city becoming the murder capital of the West Coast, Messed Coast™—and other similarly-sized towns across the U.S. as well. Take a bow, Ted. Fortunately for Wheeler, he has a ready foil on which to blame the city’s 207-percent increase in the city’s murder rate since 2017 (in comparably sized cities) and 144-percent increase since 2017: guns. The 12-person jury in Fort Lauderdale will not weigh whether Cruz is guilty in the case, since the mass shooter in October copped to killing 17 people at his former school, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, on Feb. 14, 2018. Instead, the jury — which took nearly three months to select — will deliberate on whether Cruz should be sentenced to capital punishment or life in prison without parole.

It's not the hygiene focus of the guy who paused just standing there to splurt a dollop of hand sanitizer into his paw. Under circumstances that are not yet clear, officers eventually shot and killed Sundberg.
