Exploding the Watergate Myth A new book
shows that Woodward and Bernstein lied.
And lied. And lied.

I was a child of the Watergate generation. Vacationing at a lake house the summer I was 17, I spent weeks glued to the committee hearings on TV. Back in school that fall, I wrote a paper arguing that Nixon should resist pressure to resign. Headed south the next August, I watched Nixon’s resignation speech at a motor lodge on I-95 and the next day, on the highway, listened on the car radio as Gerald R. Ford declared “our long national nightmare” over.

There was always another big question about Watergate: why would the Nixon White House have wanted to burglarize Democratic headquarters in the first place? It was already obvious that Nixon was heading for a landslide victory. He didn’t need any DNC dirt. Even in the movie, an unnamed editor at the Post, played by John McMartin, tells Bradlee: “I don’t believe the story. It doesn’t make sense.” The motive for the burglary remained murky for decades.

When Nixon resigned, and as he left the White House and stepped onto Marine One, I was driving past Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary. I never understood why he stepped down.

Democrats have lied about their intentions, their morals, their honor and humility for DECADES!! They are nothing but Plantion Lord wanna-be and they look at everyone they have any hold on, as their slaves - their property, or obstacles to dispose of. It's not a joke when some asks, rhetorically, "How do you know when a Democrat lies?". Answer: "Their lips move." Though these days, they also pay MSM to lie for them.

Pull quote from the article: "Its actual purpose was to protect a whole raft of covert operations that involved “the entire U.S. intelligence community - the FBI, CIA, Justice.” History repeats itself in the attempt to bring down Mr. Trump from the weaponization of these entitites, and may shed light on the "Haldeman Diaries" quote about opening a scab about "the whole Bay of Pigs thing" RMN was reported to have said in the book. Mark Felt ("deep throat") turned when he found out the he was not going to be made Director of the Feebies. Liddy and his cadre actually got caught on the 2ND break in with Howard Hunt flying the coop to Spain just after. A few of those involved actually had been involved in the BoP operation, and later with Iran-Contra as well! A lot has happened in the intervening years, and as the maxim says "the more things change, the more they stay the same"...

Nixon's greatest crime was beating McGovern in an historic, nationwide landslide. No one in the media knew anyone who voted for Nixon. Nixon therefore had to be punished. Trump's greatest crime was beating Hillary. It was her turn, dammit! No one in the media knew anyone who voted for Trump. Trump therefore had to be punished.

And the reason the CIA wanted information on prostitution that was in the hands of the DNC? The CIA wanted to have as much power over the politicians entrapped in this sex trap as the DNC held over them. And the same thing is going on today with the list of people wlho received favors from Jeffrey Epstein's young ladies. The same old DNC.

Watergate was much to do about nothing. It was also the start of gotcha journalism and journalism schools training people to become another Woodward and Bernstein type of journalist. Presenting the truth no longer was the goal in journalism. It was all about being noticed and the bigger the lie the journalist could promote, the higher the prestige that journalist could attain. So stories were written with half truths and the goal of journalists basically became a LOOK AT ME goal.

Every Republican President has been harrassed, ran out of office, been one termed, impeached, persecuted and prosecuted, and largely been unable to govern due to sabotage from government agencies. The sabotage has worsened as the tech and woke companies have joined the effort. Republicans can no longer govern, not without a total change away from their passiveness, and prosecution of the Democrats for their criminality.

This period of history extremely important for younger Republicans to read about because they need to know that Nixon, as Trump has been, was betrayed by his own party who were too gutless to stand by their man under fire. Until the GOP leadership is purged of these greedy globalists, I really don’t know how we beat the encroaching communism.

Returns are not counted for days. It is intolerable for a modern democracy to wait and wait for all sorts of ballots both cast and counted under radically different and sometimes dubious conditions. The Democrats – with overwhelming media and money advantages – have mastered these arts of massive and unprecedented early, mail-in, and absentee voting. Old-fashioned Republicans count on riling up their voters to show up on Election Day. But it is far easier to finesse and control the mail-in ballots than to ‘get out the vote.’

The Two Mikes were joined about an hour ago by Lt. General Thomas McInerney (ret’d), who presented a brief report on last night’s election results. General McInerney said the election was a repeat of 2020 with widespread vote manipulation by the Democrats and their Chinese paymasters. The general pointed especially to Pennsylvania and Arizona, reporting that 330 thousand votes were shifted from Dr. Oz to Fetterman, and in Arizona about 36,000 were shifted from Kari Lake to Hobbs. This kind of thing, he said, occurred across the country.

As a conservative, I was often in the minority, but that didn’t impede mutual respect, nor did it hinder friendships. Political differences were stark, but nearly all of them boiled down to disputes over means and not ends. All of us, for example, agreed that child care was a good thing.

The debate about recession risk is pointless. We are already in a recession. Real GDP (gross domestic product) in the United States declined at an annual rate of 1.6% in the first quarter. The Atlanta Fed Nowcast shows a 1.5% contraction in the second quarter. But the underlying figures are scarier. According to the Atlanta Fed, “the GDPNow model estimate for real GDP growth (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in the second quarter of 2022 is -1.5% on July 15, down from -1.2% on July 8”. That is an enormous negative change, -0.3% of GDP, in one week.

Former President Donald Trump has superpowers. That much was established when he first stepped onto the political scene in 2015 and demonstrated his uncanny ability to transform folks on the left into crazed caricatures of themselves just by giving an utterance. It seemed that anytime he so much as sneezed, it immediately caused those who are left of center to have a collective meltdown. She was running neck and neck with Laxalt, Nevada's former attorney general who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump.
