As Republican Adam Laxalt’s lead in the Nevada Senate race dwindles with 93% of the vote counted, his campaign is reportedly “bracing for a loss” and weighing asking for a recount. Laxalt is ahead of incumbent Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto by just 800 votes after 23,000 mail-in ballots were tabulated in Clark County on Friday. The results from the mail-in ballots are favoring Cortez Masto at a 2-1 rate. Clark County, home to Las Vegas, reportedly has about 27,000 mail-in ballots left to be counted.

Voting on Election Day has become voting during Election Season. Republicans need to adopt the strategies and tactics of Democrats in order to move levers of government. Focus on getting control of the Secretaries of State and counting the votes.

Sad outcome, if true. But we saw this coming. Not only do we lose close race after close race, we suffer torturous vote counts that drag on with seemingly predetermined outcomes. Time to back up the truck and haul away all GOP Congressional and RNC leadership. Trump had his turn. Time for him to step aside.

Well, here we are again, two years later, and in the same place. The same lies, forgery, stealing and hate from the Democrats. The same cringing, weakness, finger pointing, hypocrisy and disloyalty from the Republicans. An election used to happen on one day and one night: in twenty-four hours. Yet here we are, two years later, four days after “Election Day”, still hanging on to the horror show as it gradually gets worse and looks way more felonious by the hour. This is hell by election. Welcome to the new America. And for those worried about Donald Trump: you’ve got bigger worries, pal. Look over your shoulder; we are all being controlled. As is the vote. As in Brazil.

#13 Time for Trump to step aside? He wasn’t on the ballot and didn’t have to do anything. Mitch and the boys were actually in charge of getting people elected and they failed… and yet they’ll cruise to reelection. And that brilliant political mind, Miss Lindsey, bringing up an abortion bill with no chance of passing right before a mid term. And McConnell let him do it! For that alone he should be given the Harry Reid workout.

This race is not going to be resolved for a long time, being this close they will have to count every ballot, examine every vote that is in arbitration. Then, there will be a recount. The Democrats never lose close elections. The point that Republicans should stop trying to change voter minds, and focus on going into the field and gathering votes is a good one.

#24 makes a good suggestion, but Republicans are reluctant to stoop to dem methods of going into poor neighborhoods and paying people to sign their ballot envelopes and turning the ballot over to the operatives to fill out, all for $10 per ballot.

PHILADELPHIA—Call it “the White Wave.” A flood of white envelopes containing mail-in ballots lofted Democrat candidates to victories in several key Nov. 8 races. Case in point: Democrat John Fetterman will occupy Pennsylvania’s coveted U.S. Senate seat instead of Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz. In that race—and several others—mail-in ballots acted as a breaker against the “Red Wave” of wins that Republican leaders had hoped would wash across the nation at a time when Congress and the White House are both Democrat-controlled.

Surveying the wreckage of the disappointing Republican midterms, voters were left scratching their heads, trying to figure out what went wrong. With the fundamentals being as bad as they were this year, Republicans underperformed expectations, and it was fairly obvious that they would experience no red wave by early in the evening on Election Night. While I've seen plenty of postmortems already, the single biggest issue that wrecked the wave was mail-in voting combined with ballot-harvesting, which all but eliminated Republican hopes in states where Democrats control the voting rules. This is why Senate polls were so wrong in these states.

Election Day is increasingly looking like election month, and frankly, unless state residents under our federal system get control of this, I see no end to it. In the worst cases, ballots are emailed to everyone who has ever been registered to vote whether or not they’ve died or moved away, faulty ballot printing results in valid ballots being tossed, equipment failures misregister votes, ballot drop boxes are left unmonitored, and so on -- all of which contribute to an atmosphere in which corruption flourishes. The more this happens, the more voters believe they cannot vote themselves out of policies and politicians with which they disagree.
