Albany TV anchor Heather Kovar suspended

Albany TV news anchor Heather Kovar shocked viewers over the weekend when she slurred her words and appeared disheveled during an evening broadcast—and the station told The Post on Sunday that she has been suspended from her job. The CBS 6 anchor was jittery and wide-eyed during her Saturday segments and at times incoherent. At one point while trying to pivot between segments, Kovar said, “And so, moving on tonight, is we have to tell you also, you know, like other news that’s happening in the area, and across the area, in the nation.”(Snip)She quickly changed subjects during the report, too, saying bizarrely, “Well, hello! Good afternoon!

Comments:

Oh, my. Her performance is like a much more animated version of Kamala Harris, minus the condescension and thinly veiled aggression.

There are non-narcotic prescription drugs that can do strange things to you. Back furing my teaching days, I had gone to my primary care physician for treatment of a bad muscle spasm. He prescribed flexeril, cautioned me about driving while taking it, and when I went to class that afternoon, the students thought I was drunk. But I don't drink. It was the flexeril. There are also combinations of medications that can have that effect.

It wasn't as bad as NBC's Jessica Savitch (look it up on You Tube) and Kovar DID SAY she and the meteorologist have been working a double shift. So unless a toxicology test was performed immediately after her broadcast to prove she was on drugs or she was drunk it can be attributed to being tired from working a double shift.

First lady Jill Biden on Monday mispronounced “bodega” during a speech to a Hispanic advocacy group—drawing renewed comparisons to cartoon fellow teacher Peggy Hill. Biden hailed the “bow-get-taas” of The Bronx during a speech in San Antonio, Texas, with such confidence that social media users recalled the “King of the Hill” cartoon character, a substitute teacher in Texas who taught Spanish without being able to correctly say “Español.” The first lady’s pronunciation was closer to that of Colombian capital “Bogotá” than the standard pronunciation “bow-day-guh.” The term bodega in the US refers to a small neighborhood grocery. Fewer Americans than ever say that they believe that the Bible should be taken literally, while a record number of Americans now say they view the holy book as a compilation of "fables, legends, history and moral precepts recorded by man," according to a Gallup poll. One in five Americans surveyed said the Bible is the "actual word of God, to be taken literally," about half off from the high point in 1984. The survey also shows that as fewer Americans are ranking religion as "very important," the number of those who believe the Bible came directly from God decreases.
