Albany TV news anchor Heather Kovar shocked viewers over the weekend when she slurred her words and appeared disheveled during an evening broadcast—and the station told The Post on Sunday that she has been suspended from her job. The CBS 6 anchor was jittery and wide-eyed during her Saturday segments and at times incoherent. At one point while trying to pivot between segments, Kovar said, “And so, moving on tonight, is we have to tell you also, you know, like other news that’s happening in the area, and across the area, in the nation.”(Snip)She quickly changed subjects during the report, too, saying bizarrely, “Well, hello! Vice President Kamala Harris would defeat Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a hypothetical 2024 presidential match-up, according to a new poll, but the race would be extremely close.
A poll from the Harvard University Center for American Political Studies (CAPS) has found that Harris enjoys 39 support to the Republican governor's 37 percent in a theoretical contest. One in five Americans surveyed said the Bible is the "actual word of God, to be taken literally," about half off from the high point in 1984. The survey also shows that as fewer Americans are ranking religion as "very important," the number of those who believe the Bible came directly from God decreases.

Navy investigators want to know why a fighter jet on Friday was blown off the deck of an aircraft carrier operating in the Mediterranean. According to the initial reports, the Navy F-18 fighter jet went into the water as a result of “unexpected heavy weather.” The aircraft was aboard the USS Harry S. Truman, normally based in Norfolk.
