Ex-Fox News personality-turned-NewsNation political editor and Fox critic Chris Stirewalt broke news when he told anchor Adrienne Bankert that he’s been called to testify before the Jan. 6 committee on Monday. Stirewalt has become a frequent and vociferous critic of his former employer and its handling of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, and now he’ll take the witness chair at the bombshell hearings investigating that attack. On Friday morning’s edition of NewsNation’s Morning In America with Adrienne, Bankert asked for Stirewalt’s take on Thursday night’s hearing but got a big scoop instead. “I should first disclose, I should

VERNON, Calif. -- Meat-packing giant Smithfield Foods said Friday it will close its only California plant next year, citing the escalating cost of doing business in the state. The Farmer John meat-packing plant in Vernon, an industrial suburb south of Los Angeles, will shut down in February, with its 1,800 employees receiving severance and job placement support along with bonuses for those who choose to stay on the job until the closure, said Jim Monroe, vice president of corporate affairs. Consumer sentiment sank to its worst level on record in early June as the rising cost of food, gas, and other essentials weighed on American consumers. The University of Michigan's closely watched Surveys of Consumers consumer sentiment index slumped to 50.2 in the preliminary June survey, marking the lowest level recorded by the survey, which dates back to the mid-'70s. (Snip) "Consumer sentiment declined by 14% from May, continuing a downward trend over the last year and reaching its lowest recorded value, comparable to the trough reached in the middle of the 1980 recession," Joanne Hsu, director of the University

Inflation barreled ahead in May, rising more than expected as supply chain constraints, the Russian war in Ukraine and strong consumer demand continued to keep consumer prices running near a 40-year-high. The Labor Department said Friday that the consumer price index, a broad measure of the price for everyday goods including gasoline, groceries and rents, rose 8.6% in May from a year ago. Prices jumped 1% in the one-month period from April. Those figures were both higher than the 8.3% headline figure and 0.7% monthly gain forecast by Refinitiv economists. It marks the fastest pace of inflation since December 1981.

A suburban Chicago city has revoked the special permit for an upcoming gay pride parade over security staffing concerns following a spat in which local authorities were told that police officers would not be allowed to march in uniform. The group running the Aurora Pride Parade had been working with the Aurora Police Department to come up with a safety plan for the privately-run event, but a police spokesperson told Fox Chicago the department couldn't make it work. The national average for gas prices in the United States has surpassed the $5 mark for the first time in history, according to one measure on Thursday. According to GasBuddy, the average has risen to $5 per gallon after an increase of several cents over the last few days. Various factors have influenced the rise in prices over the last several months. Experts say that the spike recently has been mostly affected by rising demand for the summer season and limited capacity at U.S. and foreign refineries. The ongoing war in Ukraine -- which is now in its fourth month -- has

ORLANDO – Six men from Haiti, who were scheduled to attend the Special Olympic USA Games in Orlando, are missing. They were competing in the soccer competition. The group was last seen Monday afternoon, which was when the games began. Now, law enforcement is trying to figure out where they went. "How you fly into a country and just disappear, and no one knows anything? I mean that's disturbing," said Hope Watson, a mother of a Special Olympics athlete. The Osceola County Sheriff's Office put out an alert to the public saying the six men were last seen around 2:30

During a Wednesday discussion about President Biden's upcoming interview with late night host Jimmy Kimmel, CNN media analyst Bill Carter said that the president could use some "exposure that may not be too, you know, challenging for him." "New Day" host Brianna Keilar asked Carter what he thought the president was "hoping to achieve" in appearing on a late night show while suffering from low approval ratings. The president is set to join Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday for his first major interview in over 100 days.
"Clearly this is an appearance meant to, you know, give him a forum where

DES PLAINES, Ill. -- One of the Chicago area's most elite car dealerships was targeted by thieves overnight Monday into Tuesday. As CBS 2's Chris Tye reported Tuesday, the crew got away with three luxury vehicles - and something that might be more even more valuable. The owner of Sam Jidd Luxury Motors, at 1505 S. Mt. Prospect Rd. in Des Plaines, said this was the fifth time in a little more than a year that thieves have struck. The owner says lax laws and policing are only inviting copycat crimes. "It's going to be a nightmare this week," said owner Sam

MSNBC finished May with its smallest monthly audience among the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults age 25-54 since November 1999, and its lowest-rated month among the demo in primetime since May 2004, as Rachel Maddow’s reduced schedule continues to harm the network. "Record-low ratings going back to 1999 is almost always a bad sign seeing as how they were then a fledgling network and far less ubiquitous in our bodypolitic," NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck told Fox News Digital about MSNBC, which launched in 1996. Houck believes that nowadays, liberals have a multiple options when looking to "be spoon-fed their talking
