Calling the fattest category of people 'morbidly' obese is offensive, woke researchers said today.
And they urged doctors and scientists to stop referring to unsuccessful attempts to lose weight as 'failures'.
Terms used moving forward should include 'ineffective' or 'insufficient' weight loss, or even 'secondary weight regain'.
No specific suggestions were given to replace the phrase 'morbid', however severe is often used instead.
Critics today slammed the recommendation, published in a leading obesity journal, saying it was 'odd' given morbid obesity is a clinical term.
But industry experts agreed that 'less stigmatising' language was crucial in the battle against the bulge, saying 'words truly do matter'.
Joe Nadglowski, president of the Obesity Action Coalition, said:

Are these the same people who called Trump 'morbidly obese'? But of course it's OK with him...

In other news, researchers have discovered that the way for morbidly obese people to stop gaining weight is to stop eating.

"Morbidly obese"? You mean like Stacey Abrams or Gerrolled Nadler before his lap band surgery (reducing his stomach volume to accommodate one beanie weenie per hour) and before somebody tapped his inflation portal and deflated him. He still wears his belt up under his armpits like a New York fatbutted leftist Democrat would. That's exactly the opposite belt option to what gangstas do, which is wear their belts and their pants just above knee level (skivvies only covering the butt), making fleeing from the cops problematic.)

I’m getting terribly confused. I can’t say morbidly obese, have to use the correct pro-noun for stupid people who don’t know how they identify and I have to remember 57 more genders along with the two I have always been told existed. I’m going to need a booklet so I can look up what I’m allowed to say and can’t say. Or. I can just say what I want and those that don’t like it can stop talking to me.

Then for people whose BMI exceeds 35, I propose the title "Moorely Obese" in honor of Michael Moore.

Is that why 99% of commercials now have so called obese actors?? I feel for the models who kept their weight down …they’re now jobless!

I don't mean to be mean, but there does seem to be an awfully lot of people walking around lately with extra large butts. It might be a cultural thing; not sure, and I don't mean to be mean. Besides, I think it is all Covid's fault anyway.

Yes, we've noticed too, #10. Never found jiggling fat arses attractive, especially the ones prancing around in underwear commercials these days. And what's with these wimmin who go to the botox store and come out looking like Goliath groupers?

Morbidly obese people are offensive TO ME.

Can we say fatally fat? I remember having to pull weight before high school wrestling matches. My breakfast was a piece of toast and Carnation Instant Breakfast. At lunch I had a pint of orange juice. My dinner was a hamburger patty. I had to bundle up in a football players sideline wool cloak and lie by a radiator in the 100 degree wrestling room and swim in my own sweat. You see, my weight class was 73 lbs. After weigh-in, I gorged on honey and chocolate bars to get up the strength to compete.
One thing I can suggest to everyone battling a weight issue is to always leave the table with something remaining on your plate. The Japanese consider it a compliment to show they have fed you beyond your appetite.

Offense is taken, not given. As with all emotional reactions, offense is a choice. The words are not responsible for the choice of reaction.

I suspect there are a lot of people who don't know what morbid, or obese means. So, instead, let's just go back to calling people who are grossly overweight fat. Lard arse is good too.

I'm fat. I've been fat since I was 14. The military ran it off me but it was always a struggle; one I no longer fight. There are probably people who think less of me because of it. Oh well, I dont think much of shallow people so were even.
I'm more offended by goody goodys making up new words for things that do not reflect what they are.
