They might need to take a lot of that money and invest in new oil development. Of course, you’re going to “transition” us to power that doesn’t work at night or on cloudy days or when the wind doesn’t blow. And which would require 100s of 1000s of square miles of land to be decimated for solar panel arrays and wind farms.

Where was our government when oil was cheap and drillers were going bankrupt? The oil business is feast or famine as prices cycle from "Great for users" to "I can't afford to fill my tank." Free markets entail risks for both the producers and the users. Government interference just exacerbates the problem.

On January 6,2020. Gas prices were around $2.10 a gallon. Why Biden Kees blaming Putin is beyond me. Putin did not shut down the keystone pipeline. He also did not shut down our drilling. He never stopped giving out leases to drill in Alaska either. But Biden did!

I seem to recall them saying the exact same thing when gas sky rocketed under the bamster. For the record......If you think oil is expensive now, just wait until we have transitioned off of fossil fuels for energy. Your lubricating oil will cost a boatload. Of course we will then have to convert food into oil to make it up.

#6 is dead on. Ove the years we have watched the ebb and flow of oil company's profits. With great risk comes great reward. Having said that, notice what the REAL risk is? Well they may drill a dry holes, although fracking sure seemed to help that process, but the real issue is guessing what the government is going to change next. Are they going to forbid drilling on the lease you just paid for? How about raising specific taxes just for your industry that , well, don't fall after the good times are over? Am I against gouging? Sure. So I think some remote ish stations are doing so Yes, but that hasn't changed. My state raised fuel taxes and couldn't understand why long haul guys didn't stop here any more. Well duh. Politicians: Live within OUR means. Then when the lean times come you aren't trying to grab what we plain ol' don't have for you to squander on Ukraine and Central America. Families in the oil industry, construction, factory, and farmers darn sure know what it is to live on a variable income and PLAN. You'd think you clowns could think beyond you belly just long enough to realize as we feed you, we could just as well gut you. Don't forget why you were sent.
