The trial of Michael Sussmann is before a jury in Washington, D.C. Sussmann is the Democratic lawyer who, according to special counsel John Durham, lied to the FBI in 2016 when, working on behalf of the Hillary Clinton campaign, he tried to plant a derogatory story about Donald Trump. The hope was that the FBI would start an investigation and then the campaign conversation would be: TRUMP IS UNDER FBI INVESTIGATION!There is no doubt Sussmann lied to the FBI. There is no doubt he is guilty. But the trial is taking place in Washington, perhaps the deepest-blue jury pool in the United States.

"...perhaps the deepest-blue jury pool in the United States." We need jury pool reform for high government trails in Washington. This jury pool does not reflect the population of the United States. Perhaps the courts ought to move around the country, like the old medieval courts did, or the jurists should be selected across the country and brought to Washington, or perhaps they can just use Zoom or something.

Durham is finished. He may as well shut up shop. 3 years and a conviction by a guilty plea for altering an email. Merrick Garland will never allow any report to be released, and the DOJ will allow little else to happen. Durham may as well shut down, and go write his book.

For me, uncovering details that demonstrate how corrupt Hillary Clinton and her campaign are does not amount to a hill of beans. So what?! We already knew Hillary and Bill to be corrupt as the day is long. Sussman was acquitted of some really nasty behavior. That very fact saddens me and increases my overall skepticism of government. I put more faith in the mafia than I do government. There is honor among thieves. I cannot bring myself to saying that about the government.

How's Durham gonna explain this verdict?...he didn't see it coming? in deep blue DC? He's been twiddling & twaddling for 3 years so I guess this is the best he can do. Time to retire Mr Durham, you've enriched your federal pension enough at the expense of the hardworking American taxpayer. Further investigations into Hillary's wrongdoings will do nothing but further degrade Americans' faith in our much ballyhooed system of 'Equal Justice Under the Law'

An AOC donor, three Clinton donors, and a mom whose daughter is on a sports team with the defendant's daughter, all get called to jury duty at just the right time to hear the Sussmann case? How does this happen? The Russia Hoax was cooked up to influence two presidential elections, in 2016 and 2020. in both cases, the goal was to get the Democrat into the White House. They failed in 2016, and Americans thrived with Donald Trump's leadership. In 2020, four years of disinformation produced the result Dems were after. Joe Biden in the White House despite his rapid, irreversible cognitive decline, inflation, open borders, incompetent appointees, and open contempt for the American people. When Americans go to the polls this fall, I hope they will remember how Democrats coordinated what they KNEW was disinformation. This same bunch wants to pack the SCOTUS, not to empower the American people, but to empower themselves.

#2 and #10, it is even worse than you think. The DC Circuit court covers an area with a total population of less than 700,000. The next smalles Circuit Court has a population of over 14 MILLION. The DC Circuit population is probably the most racially, economically and ideologically homogenous on the nation, and also probably one of the least educated. And yet this miniscule non representative sliver of the nations population is responsible for almost all of the Government corruption trials. Federal prosecutions for federal employees should be assigned, randomly to a circuit court outside of the capital city. There is no way you can argue that a representative jury of peers can be provided for any defendant let alone a Republican. The fix is in.

Mass Shootings: The Media Misinformation Campaign 4 replies

If there is any maxim religiously observed by the corporate news media, it is this: “If it bleeds, it leads.” Moreover, if the blood in question gushes from gunshot wounds inflicted by a deranged mass murderer, the major news outlets uniformly portray the crime as evidence of an ever-increasing wave of violence caused not by criminals but by their weapons. This narrative is a textbook example of misinformation whereby news organizations studiously ignore data and definitions on mass shootings developed by Congress, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and other law enforcement sources.

A casual reader perusing the headlines about last Tuesday’s Georgia primaries could easily get the impression that former President Trump was running for office in the Peach State. Many corporate media outlets featured his name before identifying the actual candidates. Wednesday morning, for example, Politico ran a story titled, “Trump flops in Georgia: 5 takeaways from a big primary night.” This and many similar articles missed the two most important news stories: Georgia Republicans refuse to sabotage themselves by engaging in counterproductive infighting, and record turnout thoroughly debunked the Democratic “voter suppression” narrative.

A decade ago, when an Obama-era initiative called “Common Core” convinced 41 states to give up control of their education standards, it was infamously the result of a massive influence campaign by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Now, with America’s K-12 landscape being turned upside down by “equity” initiatives that divide children by ethnicity and devalue rigorous academics, the culprit is much the same: Gates and other philanthropic foundations. That’s a takeaway from the two years I spent poring through educational and financial records for my new book, “Race to the Bottom: Uncovering the Secret Forces Destroying American Public Education.”

ATLANTA — Standing at the pulpit of Ebenezer Baptist Church, the spiritual home of Martin Luther King Jr., the Rev. Since the Democrats gained control of Congress in January of 2021, they have squandered their tenuous grip on power by engaging in profligate spending, performative investigations and abortive attempts to federalize state elections. The resultant paucity of legislative achievements, combined with a long list of Biden administration blunders, has given the GOP a realistic chance to win majorities in the House and Senate this November. Inevitably, this means “Republican racism” will be a central theme of the Democratic midterm campaign. Indeed, they have already crafted a narrative to explain the GOP’s alleged affinity for white supremacy — the “great replacement” theory.

One of the most fascinating things we read last night was our colleagues’ back and forth on the POLITICO live blog about how Mastriano’s rise can be partly attributed to Democrats. How? Viewing him as the easiest Republican to defeat in the general, Shapiro and the state Democratic Party sent out mailers boosting him, our Holly Otterbein noted, helping him rise above other GOP candidates, including former Rep. When the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that inflation had risen at an annual rate of 8.3 percent in April, the White House and many news outlets made much of the minuscule decrease from the 8.5 percent rate reported for March. President Biden issued a statement, for example, that called the infinitesimal decline “heartening.” CNN ran a story titled, “US inflation slowed last month for the first time since August.” This wasn’t terribly comforting, however, considering that the inflation rate has nearly doubled since last April while real wages declined by 2.6 percent.

As we reported earlier, Michael Sussmann was found not guilty of lying to the FBI, despite the evidence that he was working for the Clinton campaign and that he told FBI General Counsel James Baker that he was not working for any client. That raised questions as to how, given the evidence, you get a not guilty verdict in this case? Now, part of the issue may have been judicial rulings that hindered Special Counsel John Durham’s case to some degree, as I noted. The other part may have been you likely started out with an unfavorable jury, to begin with, in D.C., but then, in this case, you also seemed

A high school in a Chicago is implementing a race-based grading system “to adjust classroom grading scales to account for skin color or ethnicity of its students.” The move is necessary, advocates say, because “traditional grading practices perpetuate inequities,” a slide used in a presentation said. Students, depending on their race, will not be held accountable for missing class, misbehaving in school, or for failing to turn in assignments. Washington—A federal jury on Tuesday found former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann not guilty of lying to the FBI — finding special counsel John Durham did not prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt. The verdict by a jury in heavily Democratic-leaning DC, came midway through the second day of deliberations following a two-week trial on a single count of making false statements to a federal agent. Durham’s prosecution team unsuccessfully sought to prove that Sussmann deliberately lied to then-FBI general counsel James Baker by claiming not to be acting on behalf of the Clinton campaign and an internet executive when the two met in 2016.

Biden, he writes, has revised the concept of the West, but Will writes that Biden’s achievement will not earn him political dividends because “what Americans usually want in foreign policy is as little as possible.”

Former Hillary Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann has been found not guilty of lying to the FBI in the first trial of Special Counsel John Durham's investigation into what sparked the investigation of Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. It's one of just two indictments in Durham's three-year inquiry into the origins of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe, spurred by allegations that Trump's 2016 campaign got help from Russia. After just six hours of deliberation, a jury rejected Durham's claim that Sussmann lied to federal agents when sending them dirt on Trump's alleged links to Moscow.
