ATLANTA — Standing at the pulpit of Ebenezer Baptist Church, the spiritual home of Martin Luther King Jr., the Rev. Raphael Warnock led a sermon on the last Sunday before Georgia’s Tuesday primaries that was about “getting to where you need to go” — and navigating the challenges ahead.
“Rise up and transform every opposition, every obstacle, into an opportunity,” Mr. Warnock urged. He was not explicitly talking about his other job as a United States senator, or the fact that he is one of the most endangered Democrats in the country in 2022, or the headwinds confronting his party. But he might as well have been.
Since the Democrats gained control of Congress in January of 2021, they have squandered their tenuous grip on power by engaging in profligate spending, performative investigations and abortive attempts to federalize state elections. The resultant paucity of legislative achievements, combined with a long list of Biden administration blunders, has given the GOP a realistic chance to win majorities in the House and Senate this November. Inevitably, this means “Republican racism” will be a central theme of the Democratic midterm campaign. Indeed, they have already crafted a narrative to explain the GOP’s alleged affinity for white supremacy — the “great replacement” theory.

President Biden issued a statement, for example, that called the infinitesimal decline “heartening.” CNN ran a story titled, “US inflation slowed last month for the first time since August.” This wasn’t terribly comforting, however, considering that the inflation rate has nearly doubled since last April while real wages declined by 2.6 percent.

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has repeatedly shown his ineptitude when it comes to leading Democrats in the upper chamber, and he did so again in spectacular fashion on Wednesday afternoon. In what he seems to think was a grand gesture to prove his party's commitment to a woman's (birthing person's?) right to kill her unborn child only put Democrats on the record supporting a bill that's more radical than Roe ever was.
After the unprecedented leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion signaling that Roe v. Wade would be overturned, Schumer jumped into action and called for the passage of a bill to supposedly "codify" Roe in federal law.
If you worked really hard, you might be able to come up with an idea as unappealing as a government disinformation board. Voters already distrust the government and are especially concerned about its excessive intrusion and unchecked regulatory power.
If you worked even harder, you might find as bad a person to lead it as Nina Jankowicz, a self-styled "disinformation expert" whose real specialty seems to be spreading disinformation to support her left-wing views.

When Hillbilly Elegy was published in June of 2016 its author, J.D. Vance, became an instant celebrity and a much-sought-after guest on the talking head circuit. He had everything — a best-selling book that was getting rave reviews in the leading birdcage liners, a Yale law degree, and genuine roots in the working class that was fueling the startling success of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Best of all, Vance was occasionally willing to criticize Trump himself. Vance’s popularity with the chattering class began to wane after the 2020 election, however, when some of his political opinions were deemed insufficiently woke.

The timing of the event was convenient for the pro-abortion fundraising organization given the leak of a draft of the Supreme Court’s opinion on overturning Roe v Wade. Donald J. Trump was the best POTUS in my very long lifetime. His policies were effective, making America prosperous, energy independent, and lowering minority unemployment to record low levels. Everything he did, with the possible exception of the COVID lockdown, was quintessentially Trump; competent, encouraging, and salutary for America and her people. We were blessed to have him in the White House.
Although many Americans cringed, we nonetheless put up with Trump’s coarseness and his inflated ego because he gave America back to the people.

Multiple outlets are reporting that a Border Patrol agent part of a special unit rushed in to Robb Elementary School on Tuesday, May 24, to shoot and kill the 18-year-old shooter that killed 19 children and two teachers. That same special unit has recently been accused of using violent tactics and committing human rights violations.
The Border Patrol agent reportedly entered the school without waiting for backup and shot and killed the gunman, Salvador Ramos, AP reported, and he was injured in the process. U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz confirmed that agents in the area responded to the shooting on Twitter.

The next, he was battling to escape its smoke-filled interior.
