One dead, two injured after gunfire breaks

A woman was killed and two others were injured after gunfire broke out Tuesday following the Morris Jeff Community School graduation on the Xavier University campus, New Orleans police said. The bloodshed comes just two weeks after four people were injured in an eerily similar shooting outside of the commencement ceremonies for Hammond High School. That graduation was also held at a college campus: Southeastern Louisiana University. At a press conference, NOPD Deputy Superintendent Christopher Goodly said two women began fighting in the parking lot of Xavier's convocation center after elated graduates and their loved ones spilled out of the 10 a.m. ceremony.

Comments:

"Gunfire erupted," as with "tensions were running high and shots rang out" is the polite way journalists imply who did it, each and every time. Might as well add in "wild fracas" too; here's a third such incident in The Chocolate City. FTA: "This was at least the second high school graduation staged at Xavier to be marred by violence in the past 11 days. On May 20, a fight broke out during the Carver High graduation event, with witnesses capturing a wild fracas inside Convocation Center that involved attendees throwing punches and chairs." https://www.fox8live.com/2022/05/31/triple-shooting-leaves-elderly-woman-dead-outside-morris-jeff-high-graduation-xavier-university-nopd-says/

Arrested at the Carver melee was one Malik Washington, a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. "But that's illegal!" Maybe he should ask for the Michael Sussmann treatment?

New media and White House use of term “gun violence” is aligning with CDC and WHO terminology as the newest epidemic. If WHO is given control of remedies for this type activity they will try to enforce worldwide or country bans using the treaty angle.

Everyone saw it, no arrests have been made. The cops figure the worthless George Soros DA isn’t going to do anything so why bother. Best to rest up to make that 50 an hour detail in the bar rooms and strip clubs. It’s sad New Orleans use to be a great town, it was a fun town to come of age in, there use to be plenty of jobs. Now it’s a real sh#thol& city.

This just ain’t fare. The MTA’s communications team selectively edited a video to make it look like a “latte-sipping” middle-aged woman was scamming a ride by sneaking under a subway turnstile in a bid to claim that well-heeled New Yorkers and not just violent vagrants are fare evaders. But according to a full clip of the incident obtained by The Post, the customer made at least one attempt to swipe her MetroCard before being forced to crawl under the turnstile when it apparently failed to register. “We have countless images of people in designer clothes, carrying $7 lattes, waltzing through emergency gates at Wall Street

The Biden administration has refused to send warplanes to Ukraine but is now planning to equip Kyiv with some of the most modern and deadly long-range drones, according to people familiar with discussions. The plan would involve selling four MQ-1C Gray Eagle drones—a more powerful version of the unmanned Predator aircraft and capable of carrying eight Hellfire missiles—for battlefield use against Russian forces. Biden made the stunning admission following a virtual meeting with major formula manufacturers on the same day the Wall Street Journal, citing research firm IRI, reported that 23% of powdered baby formula was out of stock during the week ending May 22, compared with a 21% out-of-stock rate during the previous week. The normal out-of-stock range prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the outlet, was between 5% and 7%.

The surge is so overwhelming that it’s pushed up the projected point at which the U.S. will have its largest-ever share of immigrants, according to the Center for Immigration Studies. At the current pace of growth, 14.9% of residents will be immigrants as of sometime next year, topping the record set around the turn of the 20th century. A teacher did not, as previously stated, leave a door propped open with a rock during the massacre at Robb elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, last week, but closed it before the attacks began–only for the door to not automatically lock, Texas state investigators said. The gunman used the door to get inside, where he killed 19 students and two teachers. The finding, released by Texas department of public safety on Tuesday, contradicts an earlier account in which they said a teacher had propped the door open shortly before Salvador Ramos, 18, entered the building.(Snip)“We did verify she closed the door. A once-promising fight against COVID-19 took a downward turn in mid-2021 as variants surged and producers struggled to shake off the pandemic and meet the demand for products. People who saved money or received federal payments continued to spend on goods instead of services, trips, conferences and other events, exacerbating the problem. As we reported earlier, Michael Sussmann was found not guilty of lying to the FBI, despite the evidence that he was working for the Clinton campaign and that he told FBI General Counsel James Baker that he was not working for any client. That raised questions as to how, given the evidence, you get a not guilty verdict in this case? Now, part of the issue may have been judicial rulings that hindered Special Counsel John Durham’s case to some degree, as I noted. The other part may have been you likely started out with an unfavorable jury, to begin with, in D.C., but then, in this case, you also seemed

Students, depending on their race, will not be held accountable for missing class, misbehaving in school, or for failing to turn in assignments. Washington—A federal jury on Tuesday found former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann not guilty of lying to the FBI — finding special counsel John Durham did not prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt. The verdict by a jury in heavily Democratic-leaning DC, came midway through the second day of deliberations following a two-week trial on a single count of making false statements to a federal agent. Durham’s prosecution team unsuccessfully sought to prove that Sussmann deliberately lied to then-FBI general counsel James Baker by claiming not to be acting on behalf of the Clinton campaign and an internet executive when the two met in 2016.

George Will’s recent column reviewing the first 500 days of the Biden presidency includes praise for the president’s “deft diplomacy” and “stunning achievement” in the administration’s response to Ukraine. According to Will, Biden’s diplomacy is substantially responsible for nudging Germany to play a larger geopolitical role and persuading Finland to join NATO, thus extending the alliance’s reach to more than 800 miles of Russia’s border. Biden, he writes, has revised the concept of the West, but Will writes that Biden’s achievement will not earn him political dividends because “what Americans usually want in foreign policy is as little as possible.”
