If it weren't for compounding interest, Cheryl — who requested her last name be withheld for privacy concerns — thinks President Joe Biden's plans to forgive $10,000 in student debt for federal borrowers might have made a difference for her. But with $303,000 in federal student debt — and an additional $20,000 in private student loans — the president's plan just isn't enough. "It is not even a drop in the bucket," Cheryl, 53, told Insider. "If you wanted to make a real difference, you could do away with half the interest we've accrued, but for now I'll never be able to cover the

As the nation looks for ways to cut fossil fuel emissions to meet ambitious carbon reduction goals, natural gas, that common household fuel staple loved by cooks, is feeling the heat. So far, 77 cities and towns and Washington state have banned or discouraged new natural gas hookups. Los Angeles became the latest to join the list when its City Council voted last week to rewrite building codes requiring new homes and buildings achieve zero-carbon emissions – effectively eliminating future natural gas lines. Climate change experts say the shift is a necessary part of the nation's energy transformation. About half of

I’ve never been one to celebrate anyone or anything based on measures I deem stupid. The dumber the irrelevant characteristic, however, the more “celebration-worthy” it is declared by the progressive left. This ethnicity month and that skin color month, then you have a different month for various types of music created by people who happen to have a preferred ethnicity or politically useful skin color. The Democrat Party spends so much time insisting on our differences that even people who used to enjoy this garbage are having enough of it.
Everyone knows June is “Pride Month.” It used to be “Gay Pride Month,”

Oreo Cookies joined the woke corporate trend this week by celebrating Pride Month with special packaging.
Partnering with the organization PFLAG, Oreo created its own limited edition “Pride Pack,” which comes “covered with words of love and support from real allies of the LGBTQ+ community.” (snip) Oreo has been pushing corporate wokeism since 2012 when the company released a gay pride Oreo cookie ad.
“We are excited to illustrate what is making history today in a fun and playful way,” Basil Maglaris, a spokeswoman for Kraft Foods wrote at the time.

Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Friday blasted President Joe Biden and his administration for having created the record-high inflation and gas prices across the United States.
Jordan told Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Company” that he was not as surprised as Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said she was that inflation followed the “crazy” spending, paying people not to work and doing away with energy independence. He suggested it was “intentional” by the White House.
“As you know and your viewers know, inflation is the worst tax possible on American families,” Jordan lamented. “So, this is real. I think there are like eight states where it’s already over $5 a gallon.

Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) said on “CBS Sunday Morning” that the House Select Committee investigating the January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol has found evidence of an “extremely broad” and “well-organized” conspiracy.Reporter Robert Costa asked, “Are you confident that what you have found as a committee will somehow grab the American people by the lapels and say, ‘Wake up: You have to pay attention’?”Cheney said, “I am. The threat, and it’s an ongoing threat, you know, we are not in a situation where former President Trump has expressed any sense of remorse about what happened. We are, in fact, in a situation

Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that he hoped at least half of his Republican colleagues in the Senate would vote for the gun package he was currently negotiating.Partial transcript as follows: MARGARET BRENNAN: Well, we see overwhelming support in our CBS polling for background checks, which is why it’s interesting that it’s difficult. There was a Republican congressman in the state of New York, I’m sure you heard about this. Chris Jacobs. He represents a district around Buffalo where there was an awful mass shooting just a few weeks ago, he dropped out of his reelection race.

As a member of the House Select Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) promised Americans “there’s a great deal they haven’t seen” about the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.Schiff joined CBS host Margaret Brennan on Face the Nation on Sunday to tease the committee’s first televised hearing, set to air in prime time this week.“Our goal is to present the narrative of what happened in this country, how close we came to losing our democracy, what led to that violent attack on the 6th?” Schiff said. “The American people, I think, know a great deal already.

Rep. Jim Jordan is never one to mince words. (Snip) After more than a year of attacking Biden as a commander in chief who is bumbling, incompetent, prone to foot-in-mouth, rambling until he is lost, and mentally challenged, Republicans have changed tack as they head into crucial midterm elections that will determine control of Congress.
Now, the most unpopular features of the current American scene — high gas and food prices, transgender mandates and the open border among them — are relentlessly painted as part of the president's and Democrats' deliberate policies.
"The wide-open 'border' is no accident," columnist and London Center fellow Deroy Murdock wrote in a Memorial Day weekend column.

It’s Pride Month again, and that means corporations all over are busy virtue-signaling. In Milwaukee, the Brewers baseball team is getting into the spirit of the season by hosting Pride Night next Wednesday at their ballpark, a place whose name has taken on a new irony: American Family Field. The family fun Wednesday will include at least four drag queens, and hey, if they already strut their stuff on a routine basis in public libraries and elementary schools (and even Taco Bell), featuring them at baseball games at this late date just shows how hidebound and conservative the Grand Old Game is.
Comments:
The beauty of Marxism is that once it really gets going, the true believers compare their craziness levels in a contest to see who gets to drive the clown car. Meanwhile, the same press that describes even mild conservatives as "right-wing radicals" never says a liberal is radical, even when they're controverting basic biological facts.
