TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Kansas Supreme Court has decided that redistricting maps brought before it for the Sunflower State were completely legal and valid In the matter of state senatorial, representative and board of education redistricting plans, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt called on the Court to decide the legality of Substitute for Senate Bill 563. SB 563 proposes a new state senatorial (liberty three), representative (free state 3F) and board of education (apple 7) redistricting plan. It was passed by the House with an 83-40 vote and the Senate with a 29-11 vote. The bill was approved by Kansas Governor Laura Kelly on April 25.

Comments:

Kansas is conservative in almost all ways, especially the legislature. (we elect a nutso governor every so often) However; the Kansas Supreme Court has disappointed us many times. This was a pleasant surprise. The best part is that Lawrence, (many of us call it lowrents) was placed in the big First District. The leftists and Sharice Davids are howling already.

discarding my pessimistic thinking, I am placing my hope in the local judicial system(s) of the states to undo a lot of the demcommie election system lawlessness and hope for an honest election in 2024

This is EXCELLENT news!! Sharice Davids is a lesbian, extreme leftist Indian activist. Adding some more rural counties will help balance all the leftist coasties who have moved into Johnson county (KC suburbs) in the last 20+ years. And Lawrence - college town, full of leftists....University of Kansas and the Haskell Indian College - is made part of the huge First District, which is mostly small town, sensible Kansans, helping to offset all the Marxist professors and their hangers on in that far left college town. Good job, redistricting crew! I think we'll get our one Dem Congressperson replaced this time, now.

Recently revealed video shows the Joe Biden White House is erecting a concrete (K-Rail) blast and security containment wall directly around the White House. There doesn’t appear to be any explanation readily available. These types of security barriers are sometimes erected when heads of state are planning to come to the White House. However, there doesn’t appear to be any information about an anticipated delegation or foreign dignitary. Additionally, according to one researcher on social media {LINK}, all of the publicly available CCTV video-streams have been disabled as this work is taking place.

The last load of raw milk left the ranch outside Montana State Prison on Dec. 27, drying up a decades-long run for the prison’s work program that was clipped by a shift in a single company’s global commerce policy. Last year Darigold, the product brand for a dairy cooperative headquartered in Seattle, canceled its 30-year contract with the prison, forcing the state’s prison work program, Montana Correctional Enterprises, to scale down its dairy operation from 350 head to about 70, enough to produce milk to self-sustain the Department of Correction’s facilities around the state. Darigold ended its contract after one of its major customers said last year it would

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A federal judge on Saturday blocked Kansas from limiting attendance at in-person religious worship services or activities to 10 people or fewer to check the spread of the coronavirus, signaling that he believes that it's likely that the policy violates religious freedom and free speech rights. The ruling from U.S. District Judge John Broomes in Wichita prevents the enforcement of an order issued by Gov. Laura Kelly if pastors and congregations observe social distancing. The judge's decision will remain in effect until May 2; he has a hearing scheduled Thursday in a lawsuit filed against Kelly by two churches and their pastors.

California's electrical grid has an EV problem 35 replies

California energy officials issued a sobering warning this month, telling residents to brace for potential blackouts as the state’s energy grid faces capacity constraints heading into the summer months. And since the state has committed to phase out all new gas-powered vehicles by 2035 — well ahead of federal targets — the additional load from electric vehicle (EV) charging could add more strain to the electric grid. “Let’s say we were to have a substantial number of [electric] vehicles charging at home as everybody dreams,” Ram Rajagopal, an associate professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University, who authored

Vladimir Putin's state TV propagandists have targeted the new White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in a rant where they suggested she only got the job because she is black and gay. The Russian state TV hosts laughed as they said Jean-Pierre will be 'replaced' in a month or two by a 'white, heterosexual male'. They claimed Jean-Pierre, who is the first black, gay and immigrant woman to hold the position of White House press secretary, was not chosen for her 'professional abilities'.(Snip)Popov added: 'I read many books, graduated from a University, I did my PhD thesis on such and such a topic, I speak many

Do you know what it’s technically called when “government takes control of the means of production?” Yeah, that. This afternoon Joe Biden invoked the Defense Production Act giving Health and Human Services the legal authority to control the supplies needed for the creation of baby formula (how it is made), and the authority to determine distribution equity (who gets it). White House – “[T]he authority of the President conferred by section 101 of the Act to require performance of contracts or orders … is delegated to the Secretary of Health and Human Services with respect to all health resources, including the ingredients necessary to manufacture infant formula.”

The rhetoric from ABC’s The View has steadily grown more and more dangerous and possibly inciting, as co-host Sunny Hostin spent part of Thursday’s show maligning all 74 million Republican 2020 voters by calling them the “biggest domestic threat” to the country after House Republicans opposed a Democratic-led effort against so-called “domestic terrorism.” Both she and co-host Sara Haines scoffed at concerns that slapping on labels could lead to a slippery slope.

Criminals getting blown up by retired Marines is just hilarious as heck. Who better to deal out such righteous justice than a United States Marine, who has had more than enough of people stealing his packages from his porch. I’m not saying he handled the situation in the most legal fashion, nor will I say this is the best way to deal with porch thieves. However, I will say that I’m glad he went about it the way he did because it’s hilarious.

The Biden administration is making $500 million available to school districts to transition the nation’s gas-guzzling diesel school bus fleets to zero-emission electric busses. The bucket of money is part of a broader tranche of $5 billion set aside in last year’s infrastructure spending for low and zero-emission school buses over the next five years.(Snip)They will highlight how the switch to electric buses will not only significantly slash greenhouse gas emissions, but how it will also cut down on public health risks that diesel vehicles pose to children, such as causing asthma.

A leading figure in the Biden administration has backed a recovery programme for Ukraine in the style of the Marshall plan, which helped rebuild Europe after the second world war. Pete Buttigieg, the US transportation secretary, said there was plenty of political will at home and internationally towards cooperating in long-term reconstruction efforts including to buttress existing infrastructure in Ukraine. “With the memory of the Marshall plan in mind, what we’re talking about is not only about how we fund immediate needs and support their ability to maintain the war effort, but how we support the ability of Ukraine to be economically viable and generate a sustainable future for themselves

I can't recall a speedier and more embarrassing belly flop of a government initiative than the announcement of this transparently Orwellian state organ, headed by a cringeworthy exhibitionist besotted with her own musical talent and purported wisdom. The astonishing lack of forethought in choosing Jankowicz as the arbiter of truth, when she is on the record affirming that Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation (even the Washington Post and New York Times have given up the ghost on that fraud),

In what some are calling an epic 'Freudian slip,' former President George W. Bush accidentally called the invasion of Iraq 'wholly unjustified and brutal' while speaking about Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Bush made the embarrassing gaffe in a speech at his presidential center in Dallas, where he spoke about the importance of fair elections and slammed Russia's autocratic system. 'The result is an absence of checks and balances in Russia, and the decision of one man to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq,' Bush said, before shaking his head and correcting himself. 'I mean, of Ukraine.' As the audience fell into awkward silence, Bush muttered
