Friday, the US Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals handed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis a huge victory in the struggle to return sanity and the rule of law to Florida’s elections.
To set the stage, in May 2021, the Florida legislature, as is its right under the US Constitution, passed a sweeping overhaul of Florida’s election laws. (snip) Chief U.S. District Judge Mark Walker, in a blistering 288-page decision, said the law placed restrictions on voters that were unconstitutional and discriminated against minority citizens. (snip) Governor Ron DeSantis declared the state would appeal the ruling to the Eleventh Circuit, and that opinion was handed down today. Florida prevailed on all the issues,

My respect for DeSantis grows with every well planned, thought-out move he makes. He is playing smart for his State and the citizens first, and then smart politics. Good on ya, sir. For the record, it's not that I would abandon Trump, he's got some important work to continue - but I would prefer DeSantis as less provocative to the Left. There are enough ready to jump off that wayward ship but won't because the Trump well has been so poisoned.

My liberal siblings live in Florida and think DeSantis is pure evil. Needless to say, we don't talk politics.

Trust me, if DeSantis runs for POTUS, the media and Dems will be in a "He's worse than Trump and must be destroyed!" mode. They will say it's for the sake of our democracy, and of course, the children.

Slapping around one of Zippy's judicial appointees, who managed to wash out of West Point, is always enjoyable.

This highlights the difference between a liberal judge who rants and bases his decisions on personal opinion and political dogma vs. Conservative judges who base their decisions on LAW and careful considerations of PRECIDENTS.
Elections DO make a difference when elected officials appoint Conservative, aka law abiding, judges.

In the spirit of “two things are possible at once,” I am extremely grateful for Governor DeSantis’ consistently good results and, in this case, for the 11th Circuit’s correct ruling; AND we should all long for a day when neither consistently good elected officials nor correct rulings by duly appointed judiciaries will be newsworthy. This should be every day everywhere. Praises for the constituency who voted in not only Governor DeSantis but also the good Presidents and Senators who’ve nominated and confirmed, respectively, enough sane judges to the 11th Circuit through the years to secure this week’s necessary ruling. A more illustrative example of “elections matter” would be difficult to script.

Just once. I want to see the opinion overturning a previous ridiculous decision call out the judge for their idiocy and disregard for the law/Constitution.

Every Rino should take note of what a real republican can do. Ron DeSantis supports the people of Florida and supports our country. Democrats support their party over the people or country. Big difference....Got it..
