While praying the worst days of the COVID-19 pandemic are behind us, global health officials warn to be vigilant about other potential outbreaks—this time, measles. Cases of the disease spiked 79% during the first two months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, according to a joint statement issued by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. Experts fear that all the time spent indoors during the pandemic—and people who aren’t vaccinated against measles—poses risks for the youngest among us, creating a “perfect storm” for outbreaks.(Snip)The new surge comes as world health agencies are also investigating mysterious clusters of pediatric liver disease, or hepatitis

Very mysterious, according to the Bureau of Disinformation.

Here we go. Nothing mysterious about measles. Highly contagious. Pretty much under control here. But Biden’s Border is changing all that and more.

The good news, you only need ONE shot of the measles vaccine to prevent it, and most had it by their first birthday in the United States. Imagine that, huh?

I'm pretty sure you need two doses of the vaccine. The first one when you're around 12months old and the second a few years later. It's usually combined with the Mumps and Rubella...MMR...

A powerful explosion has killed more than 50 worshippers after Friday prayers at a Kabul mosque, the latest of a series of attacks on civilian targets in Afghanistan during Ramadan. The blast hit the Khalifa Sahib mosque in the west of the capital in the early afternoon, according to Besmullah Habib, the deputy spokesperson for the interior ministry. The attack came as worshippers at the Sunni mosque gathered after Friday prayers for a congregation known as Zikr–an act of remembrance practised by some Muslims but seen as heretical by several Sunni groups. Sayed Fazil Agha, the head of the mosque, said someone they believed was a suicide bomber joined

President Biden will show up for part of the White House Correspondents Association dinner late Saturday but won’t attend the meal portion of the event, and will probably wear a mask during most of the comedy roast and presentation of scholarships. It is a glaring example of the tradeoffs Mr. Biden faces in stiff-arming a virus that is infecting top aides at a rapid clip while practicing what he preaches in urging Americans to trust vaccines and treatments, evaluate their own risks and enjoy a sense of normalcy. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said she expects the president to wear a mask when he’s not speaking,

The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday issued rules that will prohibit menthol-flavored cigarettes and any flavor other than tobacco in cigars. The administration said the ban was necessary because the minty flavor of menthol ameliorates the harsh edge of tobacco and appeals to young people. “The proposed rules would help prevent children from becoming the next generation of smokers and help adult smokers quit,” Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said. “Additionally, the proposed rules represent an important step to advance health equity by significantly reducing tobacco-related health disparities.”(Snip)The FDA said it is acting within its authority and building on actions in 2009

WASHINGTON — Citing growing worries about high gasoline prices, Democratic leaders announced an effort Thursday to give the Federal Trade Commission increased authority to crack down on companies that engage in price gouging. In doing so, they downplayed the possibility of other options such as a federal gas tax holiday or offering oil companies more government incentives to increase production. Instead, they said the FTC needs more tools, including stiffer fines and penalties and a team of dedicated experts to monitor markets and go after price gouging. When Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently unveiled his “six pillar plan” for dealing with the crisis on our southern border, he certainly didn’t mention this truly awful idea. During his recent testimony before Congress, Mayorkas slipped in one option that Joe Biden is reportedly considering. In order to provide better care for the tens of thousands of illegal aliens streaming across the border, the White House is looking at the possibility of diverting funding from the Veterans Administration for that situation. Additionally, some of the doctors and nurses tasked with caring for our veterans could be reassigned to providing care for the illegals.
