Maryan Zablotskyy, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament, is reaching out to the Second Amendment advocates in the U.S. to figure out how to convince his government to loosen Ukraine‘s stringent gun laws. Months before the Russian invasion, Mr. Zablotskyy took on his country’s civilian gun-control system that was inherited from the former Soviet Union when he introduced a bill to allow private ownership of firearms. “I tried to convince parliament.(Snip)Unfortunately, that bill has failed. And, largely, of course, due to the Russian lobby,” he told The Washington Times. “Now we, of course, understand why. I think that now there’s overwhelming support for the right of Ukrainians

Just a ploy to disarm Americans a bit. The NRA collected donated rifles and handguns from private individuals to arm British civilians early in WW2, after the emergency extraction at Dunkirk, when it seemed that German landings on the island were imminent. After the war, the British government collected all the donated guns and dropped them in the ocean. Eff you, America! No, thanks. LOTS of real assault rifles on the international small arms market to purchase. Buy them a bunch of AKs and such, REAL 'weapons of war' rather than our hunting and self defense guns.

Just because the Ukrainians are getting the snot kicked out of them by the Russians doesn't mean Ukraine is some sort of democratic outpost. Zalenskyy is a Soros operative. The first crime family had deep dealings with Ukraine, as in Burisma. The corruption in Ukraine is modelled directly on the Soviet system. Ukraine is barely a "semi nice" place to be if you don't get disappeared.

While praying the worst days of the COVID-19 pandemic are behind us, global health officials warn to be vigilant about other potential outbreaks—this time, measles. Cases of the disease spiked 79% during the first two months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, according to a joint statement issued by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. Experts fear that all the time spent indoors during the pandemic—and people who aren’t vaccinated against measles—poses risks for the youngest among us, creating a “perfect storm” for outbreaks.(Snip)The new surge comes as world health agencies are also investigating mysterious clusters of pediatric liver disease, or hepatitis

The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday issued rules that will prohibit menthol-flavored cigarettes and any flavor other than tobacco in cigars. The administration said the ban was necessary because the minty flavor of menthol ameliorates the harsh edge of tobacco and appeals to young people. “The proposed rules would help prevent children from becoming the next generation of smokers and help adult smokers quit,” Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said. “Additionally, the proposed rules represent an important step to advance health equity by significantly reducing tobacco-related health disparities.”(Snip)The FDA said it is acting within its authority and building on actions in 2009

President Joe Biden is banning traditional incandescent lightbulbs in a push to be more energy efficient, but critics claim the switch to LED alternatives will prove costly for poorer Americans. The Department of Energy (DOE) adopted two new rules Tuesday that strengthen energy efficiency standards for lightbulbs and will effectively phase out the sale of traditional bulbs by next year. However, consumer analysts allege that not only are LED bulbs more expensive, costing nearly $4 each as opposed to $1 for an incandescent bulb, but are often not stocked in stores in lower-income communities. Around 30 percent of the two billion bulbs sold in the US every year are incandescent.
