The 9-year-old girl who was shot at a California mall Tuesday night was hit by three stray bullets while waiting in line to see the Easter Bunny, police and her relatives said. Little Ava Chruniak was struck by the bullets allegedly fired by Marqel Cockrell, 20, a shoe store owner at the Mall of Victor Valley who was aiming at two shoplifters he was chasing away, according to police and her grandmother. “Cockrell’s shots missed the shoplifters and instead hit the 9-year-old female victim,” the Victorville Police Department said in a statement. Ava suffered a broken arm, according to a GoFundMe page that was raising money for her hospital bills.

Another day, another privileged supremacist. This is a new day, so just wait.

Victorville was a quiet desert community until L.A. started dumping its gang-banging undesirables in San Bernardino County. Of course, all their baby-mamas came over to join them. Now, Victorville and other county cities have gang problems they didn’t have before.

Shooting at shoplifters in a mall...let's hear the chorus about the "good guys with guns." The 20-year old "store owner" fled to Nevada, where he was arrested.

A 20 yr old store owner? California generally prohibits people from selling handguns to people under the age of 21, and from selling, loaning, or transferring firearms of any type to minors under 18. Already a felon. Now tell me why we need more gun laws.

Something is definitely not right with this story. 1. I don't think he was the store owner...perhaps he was the manager? 2. Shooting at shoplifters in a mall? More likely, a drug deal gone bad. Regardless, I was heartened to see the little girl survived and doesn't appear to have serious injuries.

A twenty year old, neck-tattoo-ed "owner" of a mall boutique fires wildly at "shoplifters" fleeing , presumably with nylon and rubber footwear merchandise. Have I got that right? I know sneakers are highly coveted among a certain population, but there seems to be a lot more to tell of this story. My guess is that it will have very little to do with gun-control.

The news out of California is increasingly more dystopian with each day’s passing. The state that was once known for its own brand of the American Dream has now become associated with unchecked crime and violence, a chronic homelessness issue, drug addiction and filthy cities. A record $31 million award to a mom and pop bakery that accused a liberal Ohio college of ruining its business with false accusations of racism has been upheld by a state appeals court. Gibson's Bakery, a 135-year-old family business near the campus of Oberlin College, was initially awarded more than $40 million in punitive and compensatory damages in the aftermath of a 2016 incident in which the owner's son confronted three black Oberlin students who were stealing wine from the store. Although the suspects were arrested and later admitted they were shoplifting, the episode touched off school-sanctioned protests and accusations of racism that crippled the store's business.

Titled “In This Time of War, I Propose We Give Up God,” the article claims that God is responsible for “war and violence” and for “oppression and suffering,” and suggests that people stop teaching children about Him. Author Shalom Auslander, who is disillusioned about his upbringing in a religious Jewish community in New York, argues (original emphasis): God, it seems, paints with a wide brush. He paints with a roller. In Egypt, said our rabbi, he even killed first-born cattle.
