Leftist Chickens Come Home to Roost for Amazon

One of the problems with living in America in the 21st century is that it is, well, America in the 21st century. But one of the great things about living in the Decline and Fall of the West is that one is always entertained. In case you missed it, the organizers of Seattle Pride Week/Month/Year/Millennium/Epoch/Whatever have ousted Amazon as a sponsor. The reason? Like many businesses, Amazon supposedly gave money to politicians opposed to LGBTQRETIBONCYONAGKZX&UFDR#!$%^&* +/- @ policies. Apparently, Amazon doled out around $450,000 to lawmakers who opposed the Equality Act and handed out $11,000 to state legislators who backed anti-acronym bills.

Nothing about the "equality act" was good for the people of this nation.

I would love to not have to shop at Amazon, but I live in a small town, am a crafter and there are few stores around that carry what I need. Also, with the gas price, it is cheaper to pay for my Amazon Prime and get the free shipping. Shipping costs are just ridiculous. I mailed a denim dog toy to Florida from Missouri, weighed just ounces in an envelope and it cost $5.00.

Im tired of having my fashion decided by the Chinese stick-figure bobble head dolls who have no clue what actual cotton and linen are or by the Frederick's of Hollywood Kardashian retreads on Amazon. Seriously, what has happened to American cotton and textiles?! China is sending us the gross T[h]urd World polyester **** to us. This is the kind of stuff that should be in those landfill layers of the 1970s. And don't tell me there are American fashion places here...Ive seen most of them and its the usual Athleisure t-shirt and jeans junk that is prevalent on Amazon. There should be a renaissance of fashion going on now and all I get is the usual "stick a flower on a knit t-shirt and call that feminine" nonsense. And its no more affordable than what Im seeing in other sites.

Californians in San Diego are driving across the border into Mexico for cheaper gas. Gas prices in California are averaging $6 a gallon thanks to a combination of Joe Biden’s war on domestic energy production and high taxes in the Golden State. The gas prices in Tijuana cost an average of $3.96 a gallon – a whopping $2 a gallon cheaper than in California. Large banners at the Mexican gas stations advertising their cheap gas prices take a shot a Joe Biden’s America: “Cheaper than in the USA!” The Los Angeles Times reported: Claudia Jessica Villarreal used to fill up her gray Nissan Pathfinder near her home in Chula Vista, Calif.

An angry and desperate Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) unleashed her spokesperson Jeremy Adler on House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) Thursday, who excoriated him for endorsing her 2022 midterm election opponent and not rejecting right-wing, Trump supporters in the Republican Party. “A leader with honor would be rejecting – not protecting – the pro-Putin, anti-Semitic, white nationalist members of the party, instead of fighting against Liz Cheney for telling the truth,” Adler proclaimed via Twitter. Cheney retweeted his sentiments in apparent approval of his phrasing and linked to a CNN story it first appeared in where McCarthy called his endorsement of Harriet Hageman, Cheney’s Trump-endorsed GOP challenger, a “special case.”

California’s average gas price reached a record high of $5.90 per gallon on Friday, according to AAA. Just last month, the state’s average gas price was $4.79. One year ago, the average price of gas in the state was $3.88, a full $2.02 less. Nationwide, the average price of gas ($4.24) has increased by about 70 cents since Russia invaded Ukraine. But gas prices had already risen about a full $1.00 since President Joe Biden assumed office and waged war on American energy independence. [Tweet] Throughout his first year in office, Biden has made it difficult for oil companies to gain financing to drill on private lands.

The Left has a Nazi fetish. They have an unhealthy obsession with Adolf Hitler. Maybe it’s because they all secretly want to be him? After all, he built death camps, put people he hated into them, and systemically murdered them. It’s what liberals want to do with anyone with whom they disagree, so roughly half the country. Everything they hate is rooted in racism, sexism, misogyny, or Nazism. It’s the same old game, but it’s not reaching levels of mockery that we really haven’t approached yet. I have never seen an op-ed that argues that working out and exercising is akin to Nazism. It’s all here.

In his live-tweeting of the confirmation hearings this week to decide if Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson will serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, Committee for Justice (CFJ) President Curt Levey made a telling point about how Judge Jackson was selected as the nominee in the first place, which included considerable involvement from White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain. [Tweet] As he was questioning Judge Jackson on Wednesday night, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA), was discussing how "rights should be adjudicated." This led to the senator reminding that President Joe Biden wanted a justice who would read new rights into the 9th Amendment, which should be concerning,

Socialist takeovers always progress to the food shortage stage sooner or later. Remember reading in horror about how Venezuelans were gobbling up their zoo animals in an effort to remain alive? Seems like it was only yesterday. But since horsemen Pestilence and War have already galloped through, I guess Famine can’t be far behind. Last fall, I wrote about a conversation I had with an escapee from a late-stage socialist country south of our border: “Are you ready for the [something in Spanish]?” another socialism escapee asked me the other day. “What does that mean?” I asked. “The great hunger,” he replied.
