A Russian brigade commander in Ukraine has died after being run down with a tank by his own mutinous troops, it was revealed today.
Western officials believe Colonel Yuri Medvedev was brutally taken out after his 37th Motor Rifle Brigade suffered huge losses.
A lieutenant general commanding the 49th Combined Arms Army has also died in the fighting - the seventh to perish in the war. News of Colonel Medvedev's fate - backed by recent footage of the extraordinary episode - came amid claims that 20 of the 120 battalions massed by Vladimir Putin have been rendered inoperative

I am reminded of an exercise in the mid 80's I was on. We were a mobile fire team defending a camp full of medics and engineers. The aggressors (it was war games) were attacking from across an open field. Small arms only, no armor. A lieutenant (one of the engineers) jumped up and yelled "CHARGE!" and started running across the field. He was the only casualty because he was the only one who charged. I heard someone ask if this was Gettysburg.
For the rest of the exercise whenever they opened the chow tent or start rolling a convoy, someone would yell "CHARGE! "

First of all it's not a botched invasion. Putin did not want to control the country. He's there to tactically remove the BioLabs, trafficking bunkers and tunnels, and destroy the Nazi's. Putin has been very successful. And #1 is correct, the Daily Mail is trusted as much as CNN.

In Vietnam this was called fragging....if the troops found their Lt lacking, he might find a live grenade rolled into his hootch some night.

#6 chumley I saw a similar incident like that. I had to go to an Army summer exercise in 1969 after returning from Vietnam. A first lieutenant dressed like Patton with tanker goggles, field jacket button up with his pistol strapped over it in 100+ heat standing in his jeep was going to lead a charge across a field, but his driver drove under a low hanging tree limb cleaning him out the back of the jeep onto the ground. After being in a real war I thought what a clown show this was but it paid well since I was unemployed and I was paid for my rank and service time.

Truth or Propaganda???I think Putin's army is in trouble...but...to what extend?...the news reporters from Newsmax have a good idea what's actually happening...and the pictures of the crippled Russian warship is fact...because I see the damage with my own eyes...thank you Newsmax...

They ''believe''? Don't they know for sure? The propaganda coming from DC and its minion Ukraine is right out of the Palestinian playbook of old. This stuff just smells so familiar.

There is so much lying going on (regarding Ukraine), that it appears the safest course of action is to not believe anything. If footage comes out at a later time of this Colonel walking around somewhere we will know the article is wrong.

If every horror actually befell the Russian Army that the media has been reporting, that Army is nothing more than an incompetent drunken mob using very obsolete tactics. So it is easy to see why they have not taken on the modern NATO Armies.

What #1 said. Even this article, patchworked together from other reports, in typical DM fashion, says that Medvedev was run over, his legs injured and was transported to Belarus for treatment. It also says there is no confirmation. He may or may not have died. The DM got the required clickbait headline and undoubtedly moved on to some starlet’s toned abs. It’s a tabloid, folks! Photos and clickbait headlines. Its stories show the seams where they have been stitched together - and the repetition.

Re #11, are you saying General Patton was deliberately killed by one of his troops? That’s not what history tells us.
Yet, all his laurels could not protect the General from a simple car accident eight months into the peace. Twelve days before his death, on December 9, 1945, Patton was sitting in the back of his limousine when his driver, PFC Horace Woodring, sped too fast over a railroad crossing in Manheim, Germany, and plowed into the passenger-side of a left-turning Army truck headed into a depot.

His neck was broken and he was paralyzed from the neck down. He subsequently died of a pulmonary embolism.
Where’s the parallel?

Thanks #23, saved me the trouble. Patton was killed in a car accident, nothing remotely like this deal, as far as I can tell.

Bull crappola. I’ve heard other reports that Ukrainians capture Russian soldiers and tie them up real good then camouflage them in debris and put them in the road for the Russian tanks to run them over. So to me this is fake as to mutinous soldiers doing it.

Well, now. If true--who knows if it is?--it's a memorable fragging, or, more accurately, compacting of Col. Medvedev. Maxwell Edison (majoring in medicine) and his Silver Hammer could scarcely do better.
FYI, if a human being is run over by a steam roller, or, conceivably, by a heavy tank like a T-72 on pavement, how high would the remains be? Answer: About one-tenth of an inch. Get cher spatula ready.
