Carjackings have skyrocketed 200% — or more — in multiple big cities across the county in past years, as law enforcement officials and crime experts pleaded with lawmakers on Tuesday for help addressing the rampant issue, with one official warning: "Anyone in a car is a potential victim." Law enforcement executives and officials from crime monitoring agencies from across the country convened on Capitol Hill on Tuesday morning to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee for a hearing to address the startling trends related to carjackings. Unfortunately, one of these youths is going to attempt to carjack the car of a concealed carrier, male or female, and the result will be someone fatally shot. I'm honestly surprised it hasn't happened more often or maybe the LSM is not reporting it.

What a bunch of racist. You don't want to share your car with poor youths who are unable to work because of past discrimination?

The pendulum of applied justice should swing to catching and summarily executing offenders on the spot. That would put a serious crimp in crimes like carjacking. About teens and pre-teens, or younger yet; if a kid does the crime and it results in kidnapping, for example, a baby in the carrier, injury to family members, or death, then that little perp should instantly die! You can’t stop crime unless there are severe penalties. Israel, during the times of patriarchs, David and Solomon, had no prisons. Guess why.

Does 200% mean doubled or tripled? if there was one last year and two this year that is a 200% increase. If there are three this year that is 200% above last year. The raw numbers would be more meaningful. I love the South African flame thrower from beneath the running boards. Some kind of roofrack scattershot device would work too. How about a switch that pepper sprays the interior when the car drives away? Hey! I like that! I can make that right away.

This is why "juvy" is a total and complete failure, a literal joke. Do the crime, do the time, regardless of age, and NO "clean slate at 21" like many states do. We had a young thug murder his grandmother here in eastern KS, and went to juvy jail for 3 years, then out and free as a bird with no criminal record. And two years later he kidnapped and murdered two young women. So, because we treat these vicious, violent "children" as if they were truants rather than as the dangerous criminals that they are, more innocent people are injured and killed.

Jim Boeheim is the Hall of Fame basketball coach at Syracuse University. His wife is Julie. Yesterday, Julie went shopping at Destiny USA, a big shopping mall on the shores of Onondaga Lake. All of the Boeheims are celebrities, always unfailingly polite to fans. When Julie got into her car at the mall, a youngster engaged her in conversation. She was polite to him. Then he pulled out a pistol, aimed it at her, and stole her purse. His getaway was in a waiting car, with support staff included. If he had done that in Philadelphia, I believe the DA would charge him with a misdemeanor, not a felony. We cannot have mass incarceration of certain youths, don't you know... But the difference between armed robbery and armed robbery resulting in murder is th twitch of A neuron.

I’m having a problem using the president’s formal title and name together. It’s not a matter of Republican disrespect for a Democrat. I referred to both Barack Obama and Bill Clinton by their presidential titles. It’s a matter of legitimacy. Over half of all Americans now believe that fraud affected the outcome of the last Presidential election. The Arizona election audit didn’t prove that the Donald won, as many hoped. But it did prove that we don’t really know who won that state. Given the election shenanigans around the country in November 2020, there is certainly justification to question the outcome.

The emergency affects the entire country except for the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. A state of emergency would initially last 30 days and would escalate documentation and vehicle checks, among other measures. The state of emergency is expected to be approved by the Ukrainian Parliament within 48 hours before it takes effect.

There has been no series of events more indicative of government tyranny in the name of COVID than what we’ve seen with the protest by truckers in Canada over the past several weeks. Truckdrivers who spend the vast majority of their workdays isolated in their vehicles were mandated to receive the controversial COVID vaccines, and they objected. Since then, the movement has increased in intensity and participants are no longer limited to merely truckdrivers. Arrests have been made, livelihoods have been lost, and bank accounts have been seized. And for what purpose? To force folks to receive a vaccination that doesn’t stop the spread of an endemic virus.

A Las Vegas woman was sentenced to eight to 20 years in prison Friday in the death of a 74-year-old man she shoved out the door of a bus in 2019. Last month, Cadesha Bishop, 28, pleaded guilty to abuse of an older vulnerable person resulting in substantial bodily harm or death. She had originally been charged with murder, FOX 5 of Las Vegas reported. "I’m sorry for my behavior," Bishop told the judge Friday while complaining about her portrayal in the media. "I’m sorry for the way that I was portrayed in my lowest and weakest moment of my life," she said.

"So if you fight for racial justice, this is the consequence," López tweeted along with a photo of a Washington Post headline that said she and the two other recalled board members were "seen as too focused on racial justice."

San Francisco residents overwhelmingly approved of a vote Tuesday to recall three of the city’s school board members, election officials said. Critics, including San Francisco Mayor London Breed, argued the members — school board President Gabriela López, Vice President Faauuga Moliga and Commissioner Alison Collins — pushed progressive politics rather than act in the best interest of children during the pandemic, and voters agreed, according to the San Francisco Department of Elections. "The voters of this city have delivered a clear message that the school board must focus on the essentials of delivering a well-run school system above all else," Breed said in a statement after the vote.

Blame Congress for letting the federal health agencies harm the lives of millions of Americans in this pandemic. Sure, people despair about the incredible amount of influence over Congress by corporate, narrow, and biased interests. But the bigger problem has been the uncontrolled power of Fauci and federal health agencies. Congress had lost its power to offer needed alternatives to actions by Executive agencies, namely CDC, NIH and FDA. There is an important opportunity: refund the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment, closed since 1995. It may be the only way to curb the powers of federal health agencies

There has been a full-on media blackout of the new study outlining the ineffectiveness of lockdowns to prevent COVID deaths. According to a Johns Hopkins University meta-analysis of several studies, lockdowns during the first COVID wave in the spring of 2020 only reduced COVID mortality by .2% in the U.S. and Europe. "While this meta-analysis concludes that lockdowns have had little to no public health effects, they have imposed enormous economic and social costs where they have been adopted," the researchers wrote. "In consequence, lockdown policies are ill-founded and should be rejected as a pandemic policy instrument."

Joe Biden has had one of the most disastrous first years of a presidential term in US history. Yeah, Abraham Lincoln had the Civil War and George W. Bush had 9/11, but there’s a difference between events being forced on a president and a president causing events. Biden managed to completely screw up the response to COVID despite being handed vaccines upon taking office. More people ended up dying on his watch than under the Trump administration. Then there are the foreign policy boondoggles, from Afghanistan to what’s currently happening with Russia. But if that wasn’t bad enough, Biden also turned the border into a humanitarian disaster.
