How the Corrupt Power Of Fauci And Federal

Blame Congress for letting the federal health agencies harm the lives of millions of Americans in this pandemic. Sure, people despair about the incredible amount of influence over Congress by corporate, narrow, and biased interests. But the bigger problem has been the uncontrolled power of Fauci and federal health agencies. Congress had lost its power to offer needed alternatives to actions by Executive agencies, namely CDC, NIH and FDA. There is an important opportunity: refund the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment, closed since 1995. It may be the only way to curb the powers of federal health agencies

Comments:

Government agencies, all of them, need to be reined in. This is ridiculous.

Congress has given away their power to legislate to unelected bureaucrats so they can say “It wasn’t me! It was the Dept. of (fill in the blank)”. This way they can avoid blame (or so they think).

There is a more straightforward remedy, but it isn't politically viable yet. NIH manages three sources of funding. 1) direct budget allocated as part of the Federal budget process 2) military budget money and resources for bio-weapons research. It is defensive research but you have to make or acquire dangerous organisms so you they can research and create defenses. 3) direct payments from the pharmaceutical industry. The biggest chunk is the military funding, and the direct pharma industry funding is about half of the non-military funding. As Ed Dowd, a Wall Street guy, describes it, the NIH/FDA/CDC has become corrupted just like the agencies that rated bonds and credit default swaps before the 2008 financial crisis, which lost their independence because of the money they were being paid by the investment firms. But it is a lot worse than that. Under the current rules, the pharma companies pay direct bonuses, in some cases they work like sales commissions, that are a percentage of the drug company's sales of the drug they worked with, for example, conducting studies and writing reports on how effective or safe they are.

"How the Corrupt Power Of Fauci And Federal Health Agencies Could Have Been Stopped" simple answer to this question: a continued presidency of our duly elected President, Donald J. Trump - everything that is happening these days was all planned in the Clinton 8 years in office, the only thing that slowed the growth of the rise of communism in our federal government and many state governments was the Contract With America a la Newt Gingrich

They haven't lost their power in congress Doctor. It is just that it is not in their interests to use it at the moment. When it becomes in their interest, they will not hesitate to use it. Right now, the refusal of congress to do anything is just one more bit of evidence pointing at their corruption.

They could have been stopped if the population had reacted with common sense and their intellect instead giving way to fear letting their emotions rule. l for one declared "I will Not Comply" in March of 2021 in letters to the editors of various newspapers.

I'm sure that the author means well, and when he worked in the OTA, it may well have been providing "impartial input into important congressional activities and policy formulation". But - the billions of dollars in the Big Pharma, and extreme leftist funding sources has totally corrupted FDA, CDC and NIH. They no longer work for the American public, they work for exteme leftist billionaires like Soros, and for Big Pharma. Why would this Congressional OTA be any different? Soon enough, the corrupting flow of money would take over that, too. Frankly, we need an investigative arm which is rewarded by the numbers of corrupt bureaucrats actually put into prison. Effectively every level of bureaucrat needs to have a bounty on his head, if found to have been corrupted. For a cabinet officer, $100 million, paid to the Office of Corruption Extermination, to be spread as bonuses throughout the organization. Say, $20 million for a top level assistant to a cabinet member. A head of a major bureaucracy like the CDC, in prison after a trial, say $25 million 'bounty money' to the OCE for exterminating corruption. Every single small fry in the federal bureaucracy that is imprisioned....say $200,000. Make them worth some money if caught. Kinda like the way we used to put bounties on coyotes, and wolves. THAT was how wolves were exterminated in the lower 48, a good thing. Of course, environuts have brought the wolves back, much to the detriment of ranching, hunting and the populations of elk and deer. Just a concept. We could build on this idea.

If the OTA was so wonderful, why didn't they help with the HIV/AIDS fiasco? Newt Gingrich was not in power at the time but OTA was there. We had Fauci pushing for a vaccine, deadly AZT, and heterosexual transmission. What was the OTA doing?

As poster #1 advised, for a long time now Congress has been signing off on legislative bills that have been prepared by the unelected bureaucrats and special interests that allows those unelected entities to essentially run free. Of course the particular bill must be first given the nod by the top ranking Democrats or wimpy Republicans who run the Congress and who decide how much money and support that the individual members will receive when it comes to them being re-elected.

There has been no series of events more indicative of government tyranny in the name of COVID than what we’ve seen with the protest by truckers in Canada over the past several weeks. Truckdrivers who spend the vast majority of their workdays isolated in their vehicles were mandated to receive the controversial COVID vaccines, and they objected. Since then, the movement has increased in intensity and participants are no longer limited to merely truckdrivers. Arrests have been made, livelihoods have been lost, and bank accounts have been seized. And for what purpose? To force folks to receive a vaccination that doesn’t stop the spread of an endemic virus.

"So if you fight for racial justice, this is the consequence," López tweeted along with a photo of a Washington Post headline that said she and the two other recalled board members were "seen as too focused on racial justice."

San Francisco residents overwhelmingly approved of a vote Tuesday to recall three of the city’s school board members, election officials said. Critics, including San Francisco Mayor London Breed, argued the members — school board President Gabriela López, Vice President Faauuga Moliga and Commissioner Alison Collins — pushed progressive politics rather than act in the best interest of children during the pandemic, and voters agreed, according to the San Francisco Department of Elections. "The voters of this city have delivered a clear message that the school board must focus on the essentials of delivering a well-run school system above all else," Breed said in a statement after the vote.

There has been a full-on media blackout of the new study outlining the ineffectiveness of lockdowns to prevent COVID deaths. According to a Johns Hopkins University meta-analysis of several studies, lockdowns during the first COVID wave in the spring of 2020 only reduced COVID mortality by .2% in the U.S. and Europe. "While this meta-analysis concludes that lockdowns have had little to no public health effects, they have imposed enormous economic and social costs where they have been adopted," the researchers wrote. "In consequence, lockdown policies are ill-founded and should be rejected as a pandemic policy instrument."
