Zi Faámelu was born and raised in Crimea, an area of Ukraine that was invaded and taken over by Russia in 2014. Now the 31-year-old lives in Kyiv, the capital city that has been under Russian siege for nearly a week. She is running out of food and hasn't left her house for days as gunfire erupts outside. And she says she can't leave. Faámelu, who is transgender, said that transphobia is pervasive in the city and neighboring countries, and fears that if she leaves, the tension of the ongoing conflict will make her more susceptible to violence.

In the past, this would be an article from the Onion, pre Babylon Bee. Whoever wrote this needs mental health help. I hope this person the article is about understands that “trans” problems are First World problems, the kind of problems that vanish when the people around you are being shelled into the Stone Age. The woke are in for a huge surprise as things get tougher here. When the first world goes away, so does anyone’s tolerance for this woke crap.

#10 and other "realists" on this thread: Obviously you're too bigoted to understand how oppressive "gender appropriate" clothing is to the trans community. To don the restrictions of "gender appropriate" clothing would inhibit the natural expression of self-hood. It would be a personal denial of their inner reality, which transcends their "assigned gender". It is heartless to demand they betray true reality, in order to conform to your petty understanding of an oppressive so-called "physical reality". Your social constructs cannot inhibit the true human dignity that is expressed by those living beyond the arbitrariness of an "assigned gender". It is unreasonable for cis people to deny the personal truths inherent within the reality of trans people. However, it is entirely reasonable for trans people to insist that cis people deny observable physical reality. The preceding has been a public service equity announcement. It may or may not reflect the personal views of the commenter.

Reality bites. Identifying as a woman was a luxury he enjoyed before the Russian invasion. It's not "discrimination" or "transphobia" that is preventing this man from fleeing with women and children. NO men are being allowed to leave. He's a biological male, burdened with same adult responsibilities every other able bodied biological male is expected to shoulder while Ukraine is under attack. There aren't any free passes for men who think they're women.

Russian forces are poised to invade Ukraine unless the United States and NATO cave to Vladimir Putin's demands. The Biden administration and the Western military alliance have no plans to mount a meaningful response to Russia's unprovoked aggression, but they have gone to great lengths to ensure their symbolic expression of outrage will be as "gender inclusive" as possible. The NATO Gender-Inclusive Language Manual, published in April 2020, offers crucial guidance for Western military officials regarding the use of

President Biden’s announcement that the United States will ban imports of Russian oil caused the price of crude to surge on Tuesday morning. However, the pain that Americans are set to feel at the gas pump could eventually be offset if Congress were to pass Biden’s Build Back Better agenda, a new study finds. An analysis released Tuesday by the nonpartisan think tank Energy Innovation finds that the climate change provisions of Biden’s now-defunct proposal, such as tax credits for buying new electric vehicles, would have reduced U.S. oil consumption by 2025 by half of the roughly 200,000 barrels of crude oil from Russia

U.S. Navy officials have said a warship can’t be deployed because its commander has refused the COVID-19 vaccine. The service said an East Coast guided-missile destroyer is “out of commission” after a Florida federal judge ruled that the Navy and Marine Corps cannot remove its officer for being unvaccinated against COVID-19. The warship now remains docked in Norfolk, Virginia. It comes after U.S. District Judge Steven Merryday, a George H. W. Bush nominee, ruled on Feb. 2 to bar Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and all other military officials from taking punitive action against the unnamed Navy officer, who sought religious exemptions to the military’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
