Price of gas jumps to a national average

following Russia's invasion of Ukraine

American drivers are paying more than $100 to fill up their gas tanks in some parts of the country as prices at the pumps spike due to rising oil prices after Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine. The national average price of regular unleaded gasoline hit $3.61 on Monday, up eight cents from the average of $3.532 a week ago. It's also 25 cents higher than the average of $3.356 a month ago and nearly 90 cents from the average of $2.717 a year ago, according to the AAA Gas Price Index. Californians are paying the highest prices, shelling out an average of $4.827 for a gallon of regular

Comments:

The Uniparty forbids USA from being energy independent, as a reduced standard of living for us benefits them somehow. We're not quite at the $4/gallon highs reached Dubya's Big Adventure in the Middle East, when he boldly refused to open ANWAR for drilling, but we're trying. Comparisons of then and now are also complicated by raging inflation and Dubya's ethanol mandate, which reduces the number of miles you get out of a gallon of gas.

It is up $1.50 for regular in Florida. Naturally, Biden will cut back on our production of fuel ad buy it from Russia. Then Putin can take that money and use it to kill Ukrainians. Good work Democrats.

As much as I want to have President Trump re-elected in 2024, he is also to blame for higher gasoline prices because of his election year stunt of 15% corn based ethanol in gasoline. Plus, requiring this increase from 10% to be imposed year round rather than for just 6 months. Ethanol reduces the average gas mileage of cars, harms small gasoline powered engines and raises the cost of feed for livestock. Not a sound move, just a cheap political one. This 15% ethanol requirement may be worsened by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a major corn producer. If Ukrainian growers can’t plant in March and April due to Putin’s bloodletting, corn and wheat prices will rise due to a lack of grains. Dementia Joe won’t reduce, let alone eliminate the ethanol minimums, so the price of beef, pork. chicken, cereals and bread will be impacted.

Even though gasoline prices have been going away up since Biden was installed as President, it was about $1.49 a gallon here then, interesting enough Biden will most likely try to blame Putin and the Russians for the raising gas prices when he reads of his State of the Union speech from his trusty teleprompter tomorrow eventing. Chances are Biden will also push off most of the troublesome federal COVID mandates onto the State Governors.

Researchers from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom found that 90 percent of particles could get through cloth masks, making them effectively useless during the pandemic.(Snip)Now, though, experts have discovered that these masks were doing little if anything to actually stop the spread of the virus, and likely contributed to spread as people who believed they were acting safely were not doing so. During an appearance on the syndicated “Morning Hustle” radio program, Harris was asked by co-host Headkrack to explain the conflict “in layman’s terms for people who don’t understand what’s going on and how can this directly affect the people of the United States?” Speaking slowly, Harris began, “So, Ukraine is a country in Europe.” “It exists next to another country called Russia,” she continued. “Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So, basically, that’s wrong, and it goes against everything that we stand for.”

A Jackson County judge Tuesday denied a motion to dismiss the criminal cases against three men accused in a plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer because their lawyers had argued the FBI entrapped their clients. Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Wilson said an FBI investigation, which involved the use of an informant identified in court only as Dan, did not "escalate" the alleged plot by the Michigan-based militia Wolverine Watchmen to kidnap Whitmer. The alleged plot, which prosecutors have said was spawned in anger over Whitmer's COVID-19 policies and mandates at the start of the pandemic, was foiled in October of 2020.
