News item: Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds will be giving the official Republican response to installed President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address. At a time when Americans are desperately looking outside of Washington, D.C. for political leadership that will put the citizens of this nation first, Reynolds and far too many of her fellow GOP governors instead seem to have another agenda in mind. First and foremost, that involves doing lucrative state business with communist China. CORRECTION*

Kim is proud to "reach across the Pacific" - - to do business with the Chicoms. She's the perfect sidekick - - for GOPe RINO Ducey.
And these are the people we have to rely on to change the direction of this country?

I think it is safe to say that if you scratch a politician at any level of American government, the chances are you will find a red star flag somewhere.

Iowa is a producer of FOOD. China is a buyer of FOOD. The governor is obligated to help sell the states products. This clowns cheap shot is common with morons not in any way responsible for any decisions that might effect peoples lives. Governor Reynolds has been good for Iowa and America across the board. She is a staunch conservative that supports America first and President Trumps foreign and domestic policies.

FTA: "I’ve mentioned semiconductors, electronics, aerospace, our defense industry, mining and ores that we do…. So I think from the franchise business to the aerospace and defense business, we would like to do more business with China, with Chinese business people."
No mention whatsoever of FOOD.
But thanks - - I didn't know that the word FOOD should always be capitalized.

President Trump should be giving the rebuttal to the installed goober named Biden. How did the MAGA party lets this happen? Now is the time to stamp down the establishment as November is too late.

Kim Reynolds pronounced efforts to relocate Afghan refugees to Iowa. That was stupid and tone deaf of her. She somewhat backed off with a clarification about “qualified” refugees. Iowa Republicans don’t want any Afghans qualified or not. Kim Reynolds is out of touch.

Any politician that works with China is a fool, at least, likely worse. China is the enemy. Working with the enemy is against the interests of the USA, and probably these politicians are being paid by China, too.

Years ago, there a local conservative radio personality in Baltimore named Ron Smith. His show came on prior to Rush's show. Ron Smith called the Republican party the stupid party. It seems the moniker still fits.

Considering the amount of pork Iowa produces it is only logical they would have strong financial dealings with China. The chinese character for home is the character for pig with a roof over it.

Apropos of #4’s comment; the underlying principle, with which I agree-the primary function of a Governor is to foster the economic well being of all his constituents amid their varied industries and efforts, including the most predominant and the newest- and #15’s comment about the amount of pork commerce between Iowa and Chynah I think we need to foster a strong Chynese reliance on Iowa Pork….establish a poke pipeline….PorkStream II we can call it.
Commodities are a weapon.
Business done bloodless can be a potent weapon of war.
But the whole situation is a very frustrating and aggravating one, isn’t it #6, whom I’ve read for years and respect greatly?

Oh c’mon! Iowa lives and dies on the farm! Farm products must be sold! Didn’t Trump sell a bunch of farm goods to China? Get a grip! If you have never driven down a gravel road in Iowa, bailed hay on a farm, hunted Pheasants on an Iowa farm….shut up! You know nothing of a farm economy!!!
