Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk was praised on Saturday for responding to the Ukrainian government’s plea to provide SpaceX’s Starlink satellite broadband service so that Ukrainian’s could access the internet as Russian military forces invaded the country.Musk made the remark on social media in response to a tweet from Mykhailo Fedorov, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, who tweeted: “@elonmusk, while you try to colonize Mars — Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people! We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and to address sane Russians to stand.”

It's good he's on Ukraine's side. If private entities are now choosing sides, imagine what Facebook and Google might do in our next war.

Starlink ground points won't work without mains power (or robust solar) plus router. Lose power, lose service. The equipment would require proper wall plug adaptors for whatever Ukraine standard is in use.

I would assume that Ukrainians could use this for vital military comms, too. Good for Musk to do this. My young friend has not emailed me recently, and may be intentionally "off the grid" and not emailing to an American at this point, since she is hiding in the countryside. I have not contacted her or her family in a day, and won't try again. They know I care, and I don't want them to do anything that might get them into trouble. Who knows what might be going in in cyberspace? Finding people hiding in the countryside by their emails? Maybe fanciful, maybe not.

Prayers for the children in Ukraine… From a friend, pls share: Prayer request from a brother, please share: Brothers, I have an extraordinary prayer request to ask of you.  By the time you read this, I will be heading to the airport to board a flight to the Ukraine via Poland with hopes of bringing back children.  If all goes right, I will have rescued at least 22 kids from the clutches of Mother Russia.  The age range is from 3 – 16. Presently, the kids are about an hour southwest of Kyiv (Capital).  They are supposed to link up with me on Sunday in Lviv.  I am travelling with Fr. Jason (He speaks Ukrainian), but that will end when we reach LVIV.  For his safety, I will not let him go on any further and will proceed across country to Kyiv on my own if for some reason something went wrong, and I need to get the kids. If everything goes right, I am hoping to be back in the States by Tuesday.  Of course, that’s my hope but my life never seems to work out that way.   I am sure some of you can relate. If you are wondering, why would I risk my life, going into a war zone and rescue children, then you don’t know me that well.  I would do the same for any of your children, which some of you know.  The second half of this is, we have been working on adopting five children from the Ukraine.  My goal was to go get them.  Once word got out, my wife received a call asking if I could get three more from the same orphanage for another family wanting to adopt.  Then another call from another mother to be about two more.  Then I found out that all 22 (including the ones being adopted) needed someone to take them and get them to safety. I ask for your prayers especially for Fr. Jason, the children, and the hell they are living now, and for a safe link up. Please pray for Anita who currently is staying in our home in Florida with my mom and will be returning probably tomorrow.  My mom thinks I’m on a business trip, so if you do talk to her before I get back, please don’t say anything.  I have never told my mom when I left to go places and I am not going to start now and have her a nervous wreck. If anything should happen to me, please look after my wife and mom, I’d do the same for you.  Also, if I have sinned against any of you and we haven’t made peace, please forgive me, I’m sorry. Brothers, one more favor, I love all of you, but please don’t text me or try to call me as I’ll be in a warzone and need to keep the phone clear to get communication with key people I have lined up from flights to equipment/supplies and the kids. I love you all and thank you for being my brother I never had. Please pray continue to pray for the people of Ukraine. God Bless.

Starlink requires a proprietary motorized satellite dish and a proprietary “POE, Injector”. Unless Elon is airdropping planeloads of the hardware into Ukraine, activating it for them is an empty gesture. It's not like it communicates with the satellites over standard WiFi.

Ukraine is a highly devout country – about 87% of its 41 million citizens practice Christianity. So it's notable that, to many Ukrainians, Mary Magdalene now has a new moniker: St. Javelin. The viral meme (shown above) recasting the "Apostle of the apostles" is in reverence to a device that knows no religion: the FGM-148 Javelin portable fire-and-forget anti-tank missile. Since the start of Putin's dastardly invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian freedom fighters have extensively utilized the American-made weapon system – co-produced by Lockheed Martin and Raytheon – to rain destruction down upon the Russian military's armored vehicles. Ukraine's Defense Ministry estimates that 102 tanks and 536 armored vehicles had been destroyed

We’ve written often at this site about Chuck Todd and about his colleague Andrea Mitchell a time or two as well, and it never fails to amaze me how both of them continue to believe that as long as they keep saying journalists aren’t liberally biased people will believe them.In this writer’s view, the receipts are pretty substantial if not overwhelming that journalists do indeed harbor a left-wing bias. For starters, pretty much every poll that has been taken over the last decade on media contributions to politicians shows that the vast majority of journalists contribute either to Democrats or Democrat causes. As the midterm 2022 elections approach, the expectation is that, with thirty Democrat House retirements and the continued unraveling of the Biden Administration, the Dems are about to experience historic losses in both the House and Senate. However, the evil geniuses within the Democrat party have identified the Fourteenth Amendment as a vehicle to thwart Republican dreams of achieving a massive political realignment. Therefore, it may be shortsighted to count the one-time party of Jefferson as down-and-out until the last glimmering frenzy has been extinguished. In 1868, the Fourteenth Amendment was amended to add Section 3, also known as the Disqualification Clause.

I’m having a problem using the president’s formal title and name together. It’s not a matter of Republican disrespect for a Democrat. I referred to both Barack Obama and Bill Clinton by their presidential titles. It’s a matter of legitimacy. Over half of all Americans now believe that fraud affected the outcome of the last Presidential election. The Arizona election audit didn’t prove that the Donald won, as many hoped. But it did prove that we don’t really know who won that state. Given the election shenanigans around the country in November 2020, there is certainly justification to question the outcome.
