The wails of protest began almost immediately after the lopsided votes concluded in the New York legislature earlier this month. Lawmakers in Albany had redrawn the state’s congressional map to create what instantly became perhaps the nation’s most brutal gerrymander. The “most brazen and outrageous attempt at rigging the election,” a party chair cried. “Egregious, unfair, and unconstitutional,” a senior member of Congress proclaimed. “It’s the voters who should be choosing their representatives, not the other way around,” declared another lawmaker who had been targeted for defeat in the reshuffling.
Let's see the map.

The Dems have been whining about this for a year.
Apparently, it's not gerrymandering when they do it.

All the maps are there, new and old. It shows how many seats a state gained or lost and below shows how many districts each party got. NY lost one seat, in the process they picked up 3 Democrat seats, took away 3 Republican Seats, and lost one of the rare 'competitive' seats. You have to understand that it is IMPOSSIBLE for a Republican to win a D+9 seat. Statistically can't be done. These maps completely remove the will of the voters.

Michigan lost one seat - redrew the maps to take away 2 Republican seats and give them to Democrats. Illinois lost one seat - redrew the maps and take away 2 Republican sets and give them to Democrats. They run their states into the ground, lose people, lose seats - AND STILL PICK UP MORE SEATS IN THE HOUSE! How? They CHEAT right in front of us. Republicans wouldn't dare be so crass, they are above all that and apparently LIKE being losers.

All those Republicans leaving New York. It stands to reason the states those Republicans move to should be creating new Republican seats.

Republicans have suffered from the horrors of Democrat gerrymandering since the Democrat Governor of Massachusetts, Elbridge Gerry, started it back in 1812. Democrats only started hollering when a couple Republican states realized they can play that game, too,

Many years ago, when treasoncrats governed Georgia. They gerrymandered a district so badly that it looked like someone had plopped an octopus on the map. The new district went republican.
I get gerrymandering.....both sides do it. What I have a problem with is new districts where it's not possible to drive across the district without crossing through others. Or districts that snake through the state to pick up voters of one party of the other.

I think we need a law to require straight lines be drawn for districts. I took a look at eye patch Texan's district - it's ridiculous!

New York is third-world. Redrawing electoral districts is nothing more than re-tatooing a putrefying corpse.

Always seems the Democrats are always one step ahead of Republicans when it comes to cheating and dirty tricks. I'm sure the Democrats already have crooked Judges ready to rule in favor for the Democrats.

Everyone keeps saying Republicans are leaving the gerrymandered declining quality of life fascist Democrat states. When in reality these are trades and skill sets that these families can barter and get raises in income by leaving. The drain on taxation of W2's, 1099's, pensions, SS and investment income is enormous. Even Pelosi with her $23 million Florida recognizes it.

The Republican establishment got GW Bush lackey Karl Rove on the national committee to assist in gerrymandering. Rove's job was to insure that MAGA candidates did not win even if it meant creating a democrat seat. Rove was successful.
Never underestimate how much the WASP establishment hates the idea that the Republican party is becoming the party of middle America of all races, creeds, and colors.

I didn't hear any complaining when Florida completely wiped out Alan West's congressional district and he lost his seat. He didn't publicly whine either. He just looked at his options and continued the battle. That is what warriors do.

Not a surprise...the only way democrats can win is to cheat...and here's another example for US to review...don't ever underestimate the establishment...if they can find a way to cheat...they will!!...our only hope to right this wrong is to send voting back to the states and then elect only conservatives for each governor's mansion...go Mr. Pillow guy...giving pillows and money to the Canadian truckers was a genius move...he can't be stopped...

No matter how voters choose to vote in America's cities and increasingly entire States, the dem pols win. The fix is already in before American's vote because of their gerrymandering. It was a miracle when Trump won because the votes for him overwhelmed even the dem pols' maneuvering.-No wonder Hillary was so sure of herself before the election and so devastated when her fix failed!
The dems have been gaining control of every major city & State through every-which-way, despite the ballots cast due to their gerrymandering every 10 years! The dems seem to have been caught and exposed of their tampering with legal votes by citizens. So that is how the dem socialist pols are ruining America the Beautiful. They taint every Branch of Government with corruption, protect the lawless & steal the elections but now their lawless plots are being exposed. The corrupted msm is not serving its Constitutional duty but instead has become a pawn of the lawless deceiving pols. ..... Is this what America is waking up to?

There should be a "PAR" (Perimeter to Area Ratio) trigger for ALL Congressional districts (seacoast "smoothed" to make things more 'fair' for coastal districts). Excessive PAR triggers investigations and hearings as to actual 'fairness' of the lines.
That done: electoral college representatives should be one district "winner take all" elector for each Congressional district, plus two statewide "winner take all" electors for each State. That would provide better correlation with actual Census results, and original intent of the Framers.
This will never happen, of course, without a 5th Amendment Convention of States for this and other "Liberty Amendments".
