Chicago Prosecutors say a 16-year-old on an electronic monitor carjacked a Lyft and then murdered 15-year-old boy walking home from school only hours after appearing before judge on weapons charge. On Tuesday, 16-year-old Anthony Brown went on a crime spree after appearing before a judge for a December weapons charge while wearing a GPS monitoring bracelet as part of his release on a pending juvenile charge, the Cook County State's Attorney's office said. After leaving the virtual hearing Brown ordered a Lyft and was picked up at 2:15 pm and after only being driven several blocks, he pulled a gun and held it

Comments:

Someone will propose mandatory interlock devices on cars so that only the registered, duly licensed, and fully insured person can drive it. That's the American way.

That was probably this "teen's" graduation exercise. Now he gets into prison with his reputation as a hard case already established. With a little luck he'll come up against a bigger "teen" who will cut the little buffer's head off with a nail file.

The perp was appearing before a judge on a weapons charge while wearing an ankle bracelet on another weapons charge. And the perp walked out of the courtroom. Then killed another individual. Do you seen anything wrong with the justice system? No recommendations on holding the perp. Is this Kim Foxx in action, again? It's the wild, wild west. Everyone should be open carrying, especially in Chicago. You are not safe.

Calls a Lyft FROM his court hearing, has a gun in hand and carjacks the arriving Lyft driver..HOW does he have a gun in a court hearing? Someone must have been holding it outside for him. Cameras catch that handoff? Was his(court appointed?) Lawyer with him?? More than half of all Chicago shooters, AND victims have prior gun arrests, 23% have THREE or more prior gun arrests. Perhaps it's time for Judges to hand out summary judgements on the gun possession aspects of all arrests that contain multiple charges. "Was he actually IN illegal possession of an illegal gun?, prints on it?, on camera removed from his person? Multiple verifiable witnesses?" Yes??? "Five years, remanded immediately, further charges will be tried later"

Clearly a small part of the US population has reverted to a dark age tribal situation whereby crime is considered a normal part of their ghetto culture in the big Democrat run cities around the country. The reason why that is going on unabated is that the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats have been essentially ignoring the crime perpetrated in those mostly minority urban “communities” as the Democrats need the votes of as many people as possible who reside in those “communities” to remain in permanent political power. That’s why the Democrats have been ignoring very serious and violent crimes perpetrated by residents of those “communities” by refusing to blame individual perpetrators, and almost always try to deflect the blame for such criminal activities away from the actual irresponsible violent human perpetrators and cast blame instead on “gun crimes” committed using mostly all illegal firearms that are inanimate objects that most importantly for the Democrats do not have a vote. The result is that those low income and under educated “communities” have been represented by one party government made up of liberal Democrats for as long as anyone can remember. Clearly the Democrat mantra is that only they are qualified to meet the needs of those “communities” and to be their government representatives. Recently it looks like more and more responsible residents of those “communities” are reaching the conclusion that they should at least give two party government a chance to represent their “communities”.

The utter futility of "gun control" laws couldn't be any better demonstrated. Shortly after they're released from custody--not hours after, but minutes--dedicated criminals will rearm themselves. Ten thousand more gun control laws couldn't stop that. Criminals will be criminals. Criminal gangs stockpile firearms, all of them illegal. It doesn't matter. Democrats want to lock up the guns, then take away the legal firearms of law abiding citizens. It would be better to lock up violent criminals. That's too tough for some. Too obvious. No, let's blame.things, not people. Not to do so opens us to charges of racism. Everybody's a racist now.

Sadly, he is in the "protected class", so he will probably get 6 months of "home confinement" (which he, of course, will totally ignore so that he can go hang with his homies) and a good talking to by the judge. If he can manage to not do any felonies during that 6 month (highly inprobable), his record will be wiped clean. He will be dead or in prison for life by the time he is 21. And his future victims (of which I am sure there will be many) will pay the price for our totally messed up legal system today. But, hey, at least the judge and DA can't be called "racists", and that is all they truly care about!!!

Lyme disease could become a thing of the past as scientists believe they may soon be able to stop ticks transmitting the bacterial infection. US experts have found a way of editing the genes of the spider-like creatures, which feed on blood. It opens the possibility to researchers being able to alter parts of a tick's DNA that helps them carry and transmit the disease-causing bacteria. And the discovery could pave the way for genetically-engineered ticks, which are unable to spread illness, to be released into the wild. A similar tactic has already been used on mosquitoes as part of trials to cut the spread of malaria

Wholesale inflation in the United States surged again last month, rising 9.7 percent from a year earlier in another sign that price pressures remain high at all levels of the economy. The producer price index for final demand, which measures inflation before it reaches consumers, jumped 1 percent last month after climbing just 0.4 percent in December, the Labor Department said on Tuesday. Companies facing higher wholesale and raw materials costs have shown no hesitation to pass along the higher prices to consumers, and the latest data suggests that further increases are coming at the retail level. At least 130 congregations have quietly walked away from the United Methodist Church in a schism over the denomination’s planned acceptance of same-sex marriage and homosexual clergy. The breakaway congregations are keeping their church property thanks to a “conscience clause” enacted by the group’s legislative assembly in 2019. The United Methodist Church General Conference, the church’s governing body, is expected this year to approve a separation plan that would create two denominations: one affirming bans on gay clergy and same-sex marriage, and one permitting homosexual clergy and same-sex marriage. That move has been postponed because of the pandemic and might be delayed again.
