According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, President Joe Biden’s approval rating has fallen to a new low. The poll, which was conducted between February 2-3 on 1,005 Americans, asked: “Overall, do you approve or disapprove of the way Joe Biden is handling his job as President[?]” 41% of respondents approved of President Biden, while 56% disapproved. The owner of an Ohio gas station defended his business against an armed, would-be robber by pulling out his own gun.
Raj Patel has owned a BP gas station in Mount Sterling, Ohio, for the last 23 years. On the night of Jan. 10, he not only had to defend his business but also protect his own life. The incident was caught on surveillance video.
The video shows a man walking up to the counter inside the store. He leaves then quickly returns with a gun. Patel puts the cap back on his drink and pulls out his own gun. As the suspect runs away, he fires one shot then calls police.
Lest there's been any confusion in whom the redistricting efforts are favoring, the Cook Political Report earlier this week declared that Democrats have taken the lead in benefiting. David Wasserman wrote up a report for the site on Friday, following a tweet on Thursday explaining the lead, which is the first time that Democrats have taken such a lead this cycle. Goodyear signaled to an oncoming car to stop and the child began to cross the street, but the car didn't stop right away, and Goodyear pulled the child to safety at the last moment.

Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby pleaded not guilty Friday to charges she falsely claimed a coronavirus-related financial hardship in order to withdraw thousands of dollars from her city retirement fund in relation to vacation home purchases in Florida.
Earlier last month a grand jury indicted her on two counts of perjury and making false statements on a loan application to purchase the vacation homes. She also allegedly failed to disclose past unpaid federal taxes on the mortgage applications, the indictment said. She pleaded not guilty to all four counts, FOX 45 of Baltimore reported.
Mosby, 42, has refused to resign and has claimed the charges are politically motivated.

During the process, the man allegedly accidentally shot himself in the head, he is expected to recover. [Tweet] Police in Hedwig Village began getting multiple calls regarding a traffic crash near the 8800 block of the Katy Freeway, which ended in shots being fired.

Earlier in the week, I reported that there was a “growing chorus of politicians and health experts” in Canada calling for an end to COVID mandates, after the protests by the Freedom Convoy. While we’ve been focused a lot on the occupation in Ottawa, they also had a blockade going on at the border in Alberta as well as protests in other areas.
The RCMP apparently thought they could tow the truckers away, by calling up the local tow truck operations. But they got rejected big time, with the tow truck organization telling them they supported the peaceful protest. We previously reported on a similar effort in Ottawa which also failed.

This week the behavior of Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo at Galloway’s memorial service is being called “disruptive and disgraceful.” Sgt. Tucker Carlson famously labeled Michael Avenatti, the lawyer of Stormy Daniels, as the “creepy porn lawyer.” He was the one that helped her slander President Trump in the media, acted horribly the whole time, and generally made a fool of himself. The man, Cary Jay Smith, 61, was convicted of a misdemeanor sexual offense involving a child and had to register as a sex offender in 1985, however that requirement expired and he was removed from the sex offender registry by the state of California in 2005.

A five-year-old Moroccan boy who was trapped in a well for four days has died, despite painstaking efforts to rescue him. A royal statement announced his death soon after his removal from the well. The bid to free the boy, named as Rayan, had gripped the country, with hundreds of people gathered at the well and thousands more following online. The boy plunged 32m (104ft) through the well's narrow opening. The rescue had been hampered by fears of a landslide. Rescuers finally brought the boy out of the well on Saturday evening.
More than three quarters of students at one Baltimore high school are reading at an elementary level, with many reading at a kindergarten level. Fox Baltimore reported that a teacher at Patterson High School, one of the largest high schools in the city, came forward with information showing 77% of students at the schools were found to have an elementary school reading level.
