Disturbing video captured shoppers at a Louis Vuitton store in the New York suburbs try to prevent a crew of thieves from ransacking the luxury retailer for the second time in less than a month—only for the brazen bandits to escape when mall security guards sat back and watched. In the video, the suspects are seen fleeing the store at the Westchester Mall in White Plains, as other people nearby attempted to stop them. But as the chaotic scene unfolds, an apparent mall security guard hangs back and watches, but does nothing.(Snip)Astorino posted another video on Saturday from the same mall showing a separate theft incident

New adjective to add to the list... "Brazen". That's what they all have in common, surely that's what we need to address as the common denominator. Fit? No, we can't even say it.

I lived in Westchester for 12 years and frequented that mall on a regular basis. There are a great many woke liberals who live in oh-so-tony Westchester, but White Plains is mostly commercial properties. The fastest way to reverse this trend is for the crooks to target the neighborhoods where the people who can afford to shop at the Westchester Mall live. That would be Rye (especially Manursing Island), Harrison, Larchmont, and Bronxville. Let that crew in the video rock a couple of home invasions in any of those neighborhoods, and you'd see SWAT teams dispatched in Blackhawk helicopters. What's that definition of a conservative? Oh right-a liberal that's been mugged.

Get over it. It's life in the big city.
Besides, it's NEW YORK city! It's worth dodging a few stray slugs and hiding behind a column until the train doors open and doing your shopping 100% online hoping you can pick up your deliveries before "someone else" does to be able to say you live in THE GREATEST CITY IN THE WHOLE FREAKIN WORLD.
Right?
(But I repeat myself.)

Look for more businesses to close in and around NYC. What's the point in staying open, busting one's rear end, and watching all your profits walk out the door in the hands of a masked thief? It would be interesting to see how many businesses close their doors month to month.

So if the security guards don't/won't stop looters, why are they being paid to be there?

#5 - The "security guard" is there for window dressing. They always have been. Once, at least, they were good at hustling out disruptive teens. They can only do that with white teenagers now. Also, this "guard" looks to be a young man. I noticed his pants were slung low. He would probably trip if he ran after the perp.

A few years ago, we gals crossed the border to shop and have lunch. The atmosphere in the almost deserted Mall was depressing and unsafe. Why is this allowed?

To me, a State Attorney General named Kwame Raoul is a non-starter.

What good are “security guards “ who do nothing to stop crime? They need more well trained guards who are not afraid to stop robbers including shooting if necessary. Police dogs would also be a big help. If they are not willing to do this then we should all just relax & enjoy the robberies.

I had never even heard of ''Luis Vuittan'' until this stuff started happening. Funny how a certain demographic other than rich, spoiled teen-aged girls are attracted to over-priced/over-hyped designer label garbage.
Notice that nobody is pulling these stunts at Tractor Supply.

Even in this tony yankee place...the key part of the story is that the surrounding crowd started fighting back.
When the politicians, judges even the cops won't step in, sooner or later the "People" will and do.
Woe upon the outlaws once they begin, The people are not as gentle as the cops, They have not been "Trained to be restrained" and they expect the justice they dish out to stick, and be remembered so as not to have to deal with repeat offenders. They originally hired the politicians, judges and cops to do just that...
1st responder is a term thrown around quite a bit as of late, in truth the real 1st responders are simply the 1st person that responds....in any way shape or form.

Give them a break. Those guys were in desperate need of a purse to take with them to church services yesterday.

I lived in Westchester County for 2 years in the mid 60s and White Plains was considered to be a dump way back then. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

White Plains, seriously? This is 2022. Rename the place African Acres, then we'll start a conversation.
