Will the definition of “fully vaccinated” have to change again? For the last several months, the CDC has urged all Americans to not just get the original vaccination regimen (two mRNA shots or one Johnson & Johnson inoculation) but also a booster shot in order to resist serious or severe acute infections of COVID-19. Now, however, a New York Times analysis of new CDC data shows that boosters may only make a difference in older and/or sicker Americans:
The figures confirm that booster doses are most beneficial to older adults, as the C.D.C. has previously reported. But the new numbers for younger Americans were less compelling.

The “modern Republican” Party is scrapping its old-guard corporate ties and business special interests, an Axios report details, as Breitbart News and small-dollar donors to former President Trump steer the party’s future.
Fourteen of the top GOP consultants and operatives detail how the Republican Party has shifted away from the Chamber of Commerce, the Koch brothers’ network of donor class organizations, National Review, and economic libertarian groups toward Trump’s small-dollar donors, populist-nationalist outlets like Breitbart News, and Tucker Carlson.
These days, it is Trump’s voters, Breitbart News readers, and Carlson viewers that Republicans hope to win over in elections rather than seeking out corporate campaign contributions through endorsements from

Last week, Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) suffered a stroke and underwent brain surgery. He is currently hospitalized in Albuquerque. He is expected to return to the U.S. Senate in four to six weeks, assuming there are no further medical complications. However, during his absence, Democrats no longer have a majority in the Senate—Republicans have a 50-49 majority.
This means that until Luján returns, a united GOP can block the Democrats’ agenda and there’s nothing the Democrats could do about it.
This is actually a big deal. In addition to blocking the Democrats’ legislative agenda, Luján’s absence could potentially impact Joe Biden’s Supreme Court nomination.

As RedState reported Friday evening, GoFundMe has decided to shut down the fundraiser set up to provide money to the Freedom Convoy in Canada, a group of truckers, farmers, and others protesting draconian COVID-19 mitigation measures.
According to the crowd-funding site, they did so because of threats of violence and harassment, though, they provided no evidence of that claim. In fact, the only violence so far appears to have come from someone running over some of the Freedom Convoy participants in what is still a developing story we reported on earlier Saturday.
Worse, GoFundMe announced that it was only going to offer manual refunds, and that the unclaimed money

While numbers have reportedly dropped somewhat since last weekend, Ottawa is still thronged with pro-freedom truckers and their supporters. The protest has primarily been directed against covid mandates, but it has morphed into a broader rebellion against the oppressive bureaucratic state. The Epoch Times reports:
The protest on Feb. 5 featured speakers, music, dancing, and a singing of the Canadian national anthem. There were also tables set up to serve free food and drinks to protesters.
The number of protesters dropped after last weekend, the first weekend of the Freedom Convoy demonstration, but many joined again this weekend.
Several other large protests were held on Feb. 5 in provincial capitals

Discovery CEO David Zaslav is doing some explaining of the latest news reports coming out of CNN’s Jeff Zucker’s exit. Zaslav says he had nothing to do with it, contrary to reports. Also, when he called CNN ‘the leader of news to the left’, he meant “the ‘left’ side of the company portfolio, with sports being on the ‘right’.”
Got it. Zaslav sees the news on the left and sports on the right. Sadly, we know that even sports can’t be characterized as more conservative than news, in general, these days with political activism so regularly easing into sports reporting.

As hard as it is to imagine, President Biden’s political fortunes are about to get worse. The massive trucker convoy that crossed Canada to protest against that country’s new vaccine mandates will almost certainly be replicated in the U.S. and will bring with it huge headaches for the Biden White House.
Biden pretends to be the champion of the “little guy”; he claims to support blue-collar workers. Truckers are exactly the kind of folks Biden is meant to embrace, but he will not do that.
The drivers protesting the vaccine mandates have already been portrayed by the liberal media as right-wing zealots

Resentment over Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer’s stewardship of the Senate boiled over Thursday, with more than two-thirds of the chamber circumventing the leader in backing a bipartisan proposal to speed up the pace of voting.
In total 68 lawmakers — 35 Republicans and 33 Democrats — have signed onto a proposal by Sen. Thom Tillis that would curtail the time allotted for voting on legislation and nominations.
Mr. Tillis, North Carolina Republican, began circulating the proposal this week after the Senate took roughly 50 minutes each to approve three of President Biden’s judicial nominees.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer falsely claimed Thursday that the Supreme Court was made up of "all White men" until 1981, skipping over the late Justice Thurgood Marshall, who was appointed by Lyndon B. Johnson in 1967.
"The president’s pledge to name a Black woman to the Supreme Court is historic," Schumer said during floor remarks about President Biden’s forthcoming Supreme Court nomination. "Until 1981, this powerful body, the Supreme Court, was all White men. Imagine. America wasn't all White men in 1981, or ever," Schumer continued. "Under President Biden and this Senate majority, we're taking historic steps to make the courts look more like the country

Administrators at Georgetown Law are considering implementing a “cry room” on campus, so that offended students have a place to go to if they “need to break down” over comments made by law scholar Ilya Shapiro, who has been placed on administrative leave by the university this week after daring to question Joe Biden’s “affirmative action” Supreme Court nomination process.
The call for a cry room comes after students took offense to constitutional law scholar Ilya Shapiro’s tweets criticizing President Joe Biden’s “affirmative action” Supreme Court nomination process.

There’s a reason why media hall monitors like CNN’s Brian Stelter, The Daily Beast’s Justin Baragona, the Media Matters gang, and infamously dishonest former Vox “journalist” Aaron Rupar so intently document the commentary of Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
They’re quick to claim it’s for purposes of calling out supposed “misinformation” and “right-wing nuttery,” but the reality of it is that Carlson is the most monitored cable news show host out there because he’s so maddeningly popular, and his critics – most of who are on the far left, are anxious to witness that one moment they think will spell doom

FBI Director Christopher Wray said Tuesday on NBC’s “Nightly News” that when he learned how widespread Chinese spying in the U.S. was, it blew him away.
Reporter Pete Williams said, “Christopher Wray said when he became FBI director, the sheer amount of Chinese spying to steal American technology was a huge surprise.”
Wray said, “This one blew me away. And I’m not the kind of guy that uses words like ‘blown away’ easily. We are opening a new China-related counterintelligence investigation about every 12 hours. We probably have over 2,000 of those investigations.”
He continued, “There is no country that presents a broader, more severe threat
