Former President Donald Trump lashed out at his vice president for saying he had 'no right' to overturn Biden's 2020 win, claiming he is 'right and everyone knows it.' Trump, 75, bashed Mike Pence, 62, in another political row over the 2020 election results, calling the former VP an 'automatic conveyor belt for the Old Crow Mitch McConnell.' 'Just saw Mike Pence’s statement on the fact that he had no right to do anything with respect to the Electoral Vote Count, other than being an automatic conveyor belt for the Old Crow Mitch McConnell to get Biden elected President as quickly as possible,' Trump wrote in a statement.

No one said Pence should "overturn the election". What we said was. Check on the cheating first. Has he never heard of the hanging chad? Even with Bush-Gore we took time to check on things that seemed irregular. Having over 100% of registered voters voting is, to say the least, irregular and should have been checked out. Bringing out boxes of ballots from under the tables to count after repubs leave was irregular.
I saw a video of a state that had 1600 military votes in 2016 and in 2020 (when many were home because of covid) there were almost 10,000. There were not even that many troops deployed overseas at that time. THAT is irregular. Also, all the votes from the military were on 8.5 x 11 paper. Gee, easy to copy and 96% were for biden. And biden won the state by 10,000 votes. That is only 1 example. If I can find the video I will post it.

From the article: "President Trump is wrong. I had no right to overturn the election,' the former VP claimed, however, Trump said Sunday he 'could have overturned the Election!"
I guess former VP Mike Pence does not realize that he has EVERY responsibility to investigate corruption, fraud, misuse or whatever. Especially when Joe Biden makes a statement about Democrats having the most extensive fraud system.
I firmly believe that the RNC has not defined themselves bringing ambiguity and confusion to candidates and politicians. As constituents, all we get to see is fragmentation and brokenness. Maybe the RNC needs to get their act together?

I found the video. Also there was no chain of custody for military votes. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/01/shocking-testimony-reveals-democrats-stealing-overseas-military-ballots-michigan-georgia-now-arizona-video/
Here is 1 quote. “Not one of the military ballots was a registered voter and the ballots looked like they were all exactly the same Xerox copies of the ballot – they were all for Biden across the board, there wasn’t a single Trump vote and none of the voters were registered, “witness Patty said. “They had to manually enter the names, addresses, enter birthdate of 1/1/2020 which would override the system and allow them to enter non-registered voters of which I saw several that day, throughout the day, that’s how they would override voters that were neither in the electronic poll book or in the supplemental updated poll book.”
All we were asking Pence to do was look at the cheating factor. He declined and now we have biden.

Yes, there were all sorts of problems with the 2020 election. No, you can't lay the result off on Mike Pence. Trump was not merely asking him to investigate. Pence had very limited options, none of which would have made any difference. Trump himself made serious errors in how he ran the campaign.
It's a mistake people make over and over -- fighting the last war. And it's a sure path to defeat. I hope the Republicans can get focused on 2024. Until we win that, nobody will ever be able to dig into the fraud of 2020. Whoever we nominate, he better have a message about the future and not the past.

Pence would have been better off if he had never responded to Trump's comments. Pence was in a damned if you do, damned if you don't position. Get chose what he thought was right knowing it would condemn him in many people's minds. Pence just reinforced everyone's opinion (fight or wrong) of his decision on certifying the election.

#8, Thank you for that enlightening remark about CNN. It's not what Trump said, it's what he did. The Republicans were caught flat-footed and out-maneuvered by the Democrats in 2020. Trump was in charge of that campaign, not Pence.

#5 is correct. The law is very clear on this point. The place to challenge the ballots was at the state level or, failing that, the congressional delegations on Jan 6. Turning the objections over to the state delegations is exactly what Pence did. The obvious conflict of interest that would exist if a man on the ballot (Pence) should be allowed to just ignore electors chosen by the states is a reason why the constitution says the Veep can’t do that.

If your bank ever defrauds you of significant funds, I’ll ask the investigators to stop “fighting the last war”.
If ever you are perjured into a position inimical to your legal rights, or morality I will suggest you “stop fighting the last war”.
Besides, think of all the tax money we’d save if we just got rid of that nasty “petition The Government for Redress of Our grievances” and just let then fraud flowwwwwwwww……

Trump has always had a message of optimism and hope. If he is just going to hash out 2020, he has to not run.He could run on election integrity for 2024; that would be worthwhile. But settling scores from 2020 is a drag and his own personal vendetta. He knew they were going to cheat and most likely where. Polling places should have been crawling with GOP lawyers. Trump missed his chance. If he can’t move on from it, which he seems unable to, he needs to bow out.

Perhaps the law is debatable but the fact the Pence is a deep-state traitor is not. He didn't lift a finger to combat the fraud.
And there were reports about sex with minors (which have yet to be substantiated, but, of course, if true would be covered up just like all the other child sex trafficking.) that would not surprise me in the least.

You don't "fight the last war" but you correct the mistakes that were made before you fight a new one. That's how the US Army ended up with tanks in the swamps of Vietnam in the early sixties before they figured out that they did not float. There is still a WW2 tank hung up on a reef in Saipan to serve as an example that they do not float. The fraudsters are still out there, Dominion machines are still in place.

Pence is being disingenuous and he knows it. Words matter. This is another example of using words to obfuscate and confuse. Pence keeps saying he had no right to overturn the election, and he’s right about that. He did not have that power. However, he wasn’t being asked to overturn anything. He was being asked to return the electors back to the states so that the irregularities that were discovered could be investigated, no more, no less. Then it was up to the states to investigate. It was most certainly his responsibility to make sure everything was on the up and up and clearly it was not and he knew it.
Thank you #1, for reminding us of the hanging chads and democrats behavior at the time. This time around however, democrats wanted the election to be over as soon as possible because they knew there were all kinds of fraud to be found if given the opportunity to do so with just a minimum of investigating. That is why they used the word overturn and that was not done by accident. It was done purposely to extract a reaction. It worked, thanks to Pence and the rest of the anti-Trumper Republicans. They wanted nothing more than to certify the electors in order to hand the election to Biden because they did not want President Trump to continue his America First agenda. Forces unseen inside and outside this country were desperate to get rid of Trump by any means possible. They created the perfect storm and with the help of the dishonest media and big tech they were able shut down any conversation regarding election fraud. Whatever truth managed to permeate the controlled atmosphere they had created was immediately labeled as a foolish or dangerous conspiracy theory. You have to give it to them. They had complete control. The only thing that could have slowed down the process was to have an investigation of legitimate irregularities shown to have happened in some of the states’ methodology. This is where Pence comes in. He could have rejected the electors from the states in question. He did not because it would legitimize the seriousness of questions that had been raised regarding election fraud. Because of cowardice or complicity, Pence simply refused to do what was right. Another added bonus for him was that he also knew the media and leftists would have his back and hail him as a man of integrity. Edmund Burke’s take on human nature absolutely is spot on. Good men will sometimes do nothing when faced with evil. Frankly, I am not even confident that Mike Pence is even a good man.

Pence did nothing to check on the fraud. IF he was doing his job, he would have told the states of Wisconsin. Michigan Arizona Nevada Pennsylvania to check on the fraud committed in those states HE DID NOT.
Doing so is not over turning the election. Pence should have upheld the integrity and honesty of voting. He did not!
The fraud was obvious. Pence not doing his job, is also obvious.

Oh my. I see our resident anti-Trump trolls are out in force this morning, not only an old favorite but some new faces, as well. Anyone who thinks that Trump did not win in 2020 due to campaign missteps is not only incredibly “misguided,” but is complicit in the continuing wave of Deep State vote fraud. Pence is parsing words here. He knows damn well that no one was asking him to “overturn “ anything, yet he continually and deliberately uses that term, so as to make Trump and all who agreed with him look like “insurrectionists.” He also knows that the VPOTUS does indeed have the Constitutional power to delay certification when there are serious questions regarding whether or not the electoral votes from a particular state are, in fact, legitimate.

Pence must be in dire straits financially to do something like this. It's obvious Pence is being paid by the Trump haters. His Chief of Staff, Mark Short is known to be untrustworthy and his most likely behind this Pence move and probably getting a cut from the deal. The word pence in the dictionary means a penny and that best describes his the value of Mike Pence's political worth/capital. He will be forever considered a turncoat and a loser. The word Short also describes Mark Short to a tee.
Pence is history in the Republican party.

Poster #5- Are you kidding me? Your logic is silly. Continued focus on the clear irregularities and possible voter fraud in the 2020 election will result in iINCREASED vigilance in monitoring the 2022 mid-terms and the 2024 Presidential race. Forgetting about it and"moving on" as you suggest does the opposite.

There is absolutely nothing Pence could have done to halt the certification process. That, perhaps, could have been done by the Congress. The Capitol riot after President Trump’s disastrous speech derailed all Congressional objections.
The massive rally, no matter how inspiring, as I found it to be, was Trump’s biggest blunder during his presidency, and perhaps in his life. Constantly harping back to that horrible day diminishes Trump’s chances for re-election. Americans are not paying attention to Pence. Trump should stop highlighting him. On January 6, Pence was right, Trump was wrong.
With the horrors Biden is inflicting on our country Trump has all the ammunition he needs to prevail in 2024. If he keeps his focus on the steal he is appealing only to those few who can’t move forward. DeSantis is looking better all the time.

You are right #21. Aside from the possible massive voter fraud in the swing states, Joe Biden ran his campaign from his basement while Trump was campaigning all over the country every week, drawing tens of thousands at every venue he was at. Biden could not fill a telephone booth in a rainstorm. The attendance at the handful of appearances had to be humiliating to him. That is why the mainstream outlets usually kept the camera strictly on him and not the crowd. Or more accurately, the dozen people in attendance.. It is obvious Biden has dementia. Since millions agree, why won't he take a cognitive test as Trump did to end this ongoing issue once & for all? Any thinking person knows why. Biden is not in charge and people who refuse to admit it are deluding themselves. Yeah, he's running in 2024 alright.. What a crap show this so called Presidency is.

Not one court would hear/review the merits of the legal complaints filed by the Trump Campaign. All those cases were dismissed on procedural issues - not the MERITS. So easy to say there was no proof if there were never any investigations...And if you don't clean up the illegalities from the last election, just how do expect to win the next one?

1) Steve Bannon conducted an interview with an RNC big money consultant (not sure when Nov or Dec 2021?). She said the RNC told her that they were prepared for cheating and lawyers would be available to fight if needed and she so informed her concerned donors. After the election, they discovered it was a lie. There was no preparation, no attorneys ready to assist. Nothing. She described feeling as though she took donor money under false pretenses.
2) No one asked Pence to "overturn an election." That is a straw man argument. For those who think he did not have the power (as President of the Senate) to handle objections/challenges when there is more than one slate of electors (as there were in PA, MI and five other states), check out the last ten lines of Section 2 of the 1887 Elector Act. (https://avalon.law.yale.edu/19th_century/elect01.asp) . He had the power to set in motion the legally prescribed process for handling elector disputes and chose not to do so. Efforts are currently underway in the senate to update the law and "clarify" the future role of the VP/President of the Senate when there is a conflict. Rinos on the republican side are involved in the effort. Care to guess how that will turn out??
3) As for not "fighting the last war", winners and losers should always examine their strategy to determine why they won or lost. How else will one learn and prepare wisely/correctly for the next inevitable battle? The cheating in 2020 appears to have been extensive and pervasive on several different levels in almost every state all across the country. If the theft is not exposed and dealt with it will cease being the exception and become the rule.

Pence is a lawyer. Trained in parsing words, presenting "alternative facts". Creating "alternative realities" engendering doubt. I don't recall anyone asking him to "overturn the election". Like claiming that Trump suggested people "inject bleach" it is a diversion and fraudulent. It does appear that he had the power to return the question to the states. Why did he not?
Where were the millions of lawyers promised by the Republican establishment available to challenge any irregularities in any precinct? As soon as the irregularities appeared the Republican establishment folded. But their trolls are out in force.

Stop miscasting Trump as asking Pence to overturn an election. Stop the lying. Pence had a constitutional obligation to see that votes were legally cast, and he had time to do that, but he chose not to take any time, or to look at any claims, instead signing off, without making any effort to do his job.

Hopefully we have learned some lessons going forward. January 6 was a formality. The real battle was before that date. Don't let any state call their election if voter fraud may have altered it. Easier said than done.
How long were the Florida results up in the air in the 2000 election? The Republicans won that battle and won the presidency. That's where the battle must be fought. January 6 was too late.
We better be ready for anything the dems will throw in 2022 and 2024. Not just the ballot box. Their latest tactic is redistricting.
