Rescuers formed a human chain to rescue four people from a commuter bus left dangling off the edge of a collapsed bridge in Pittsburgh early Friday. Photographs from the scene showed the bus - which had three passengers and a driver on board - perched upright on the edge of the bridge. Other rescuers rappelled nearly 150ft to help with the rescue. The two-lane span, on Forbes Avenue over Fern Hollow Creek in Frick Park, came down around 7 a.m, taking multiple vehicles with it. The collapse came hours before President Joe Biden was to visit the city to tout his $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, which includes bridge maintenance.

Just coincidence? Just happened to happen when Biden was coming to town to get his Trillion dollar bill passed?

Had Quid Pro Joe selected Stacy Abrams to be his VP he could have had her precede him on all bridges to check for structural integrity.

I discounted sabotage on another thread, but I do admit the timing is suspicious. SIL in PA said school was delayed 2 hours for light snow. Hmmm...

We need the really important details on the equity of the rescue! How many people were black or brown? Did the whites, save the whites first? Did they drop and brown or black people? Did any black people save white people? How many? Did anybody rescue the Asians?
What this really is, is another tragedy in a Democrat city. Years of decay in a place where big taxes are paid. nothing is repaired. Now people are hurt, hopefully not killed, but certainly traumatized. Imagine the sensation of driving one second and falling the next. Now they face years of environmental studies and bureaucratic rules and regulations that will delay reconstruction while contracts are given to "minority" contractors regardless of experience or expertise. After the bribes are paid to inspectors and the kickbacks are given to the politicians, the taxpayers may have a new bridge. In the meantime they have to find a new way to get from one place to another.
As far as that "equity" thing goes, I'll bet "who was what" never crossed the minds of the professional and volunteer rescuers. We are actual Americans, we don't do that.

Incompetent leaders focused on bike lanes electric cars and ignored actual problems for decades. Like many public schools, failure blamed on lack of money. Money was there, but it was wasted.

Too coincidental to be dismissed as a freak accident. We know this administration is capable of ANYTHING.

Ironically, the $1.2 Trillion infrastructure bill does not contain money for bridges, it has been tagged as "human infrastructure, i.e. reparations to the golden children. Wait until a really high bridge goes down and takes several dozen vehicles with it resulting in many deaths.

Using mountaineering tackle always kept it the 'Beast', Sherpa Joe rappelled 900 ft. to the bottom of the treacherous gorge, braving 75 mph shear winds. He climbed back up, with all five of those trapped below strapped to his mighty back. Or something.

Decades of neglect by elected pols who campaigned with promises to repair & maintain , ''the Infrastructure,'' but instead diverted the taxpayer funds to other projects, have some accountability for the decay resulting now. Even when voters have voted for designated repaid & maintenance with the designated money to be applied, so how the monies are again diverted, lately to social justice and/or green policies. Sometimes the designated monieshave simply disappeared and no pol claims to know where it went! ...Yet every election they campaign once again on this issue. Biden now claims to have supplymore than enough money to prevent infrastructure disasters such as this, but apparently no shovels have been started, ...again! sigh

"Biden's 1.2TRILLION dollar Infrastructure Bill." $650Billion of which was already pre-allocated, for Stuff like roads, bridges, ports etc. under Trump, Biden added $550Billion, mainly for NON-Infrastructure...Infrastructure. Now the "Bill" is the Biden Bill.
I want to know how many miles of soundwalls were built by Penn instead of fixing ACTUAL bridges and roads. How much was spent to "Install Broadband" all along the Penn Turnpike?

People of Pittsburgh.....Fear not!!!
Sec Trans Mayor Pete (who couldn't successfully deal with South Bend's potholes) has the solution to your decrepit bridges (including the one that gave way in recognition of Joe Bye-Done's visit today). He just announced that the over $1Trillion Infrastructure Bill passed last fall has many EQUITY & CLIMATE related clauses in it (never mind that only 9% it was for Bridges & Roads) that'll be the cure to such calamities as this morning's bridge-with-dangling-bus incident. In keeping with Mayor Pete's Equity solution and in keeping with the president supreme court assignment, the only way to get that bridge back up by Monday and every other about to fall down bridge in Steeltown 100% in 30 days. Yup, Equity is the answer.

the bridge has not been identified as associated with an interstate nor US highway. It is therefore tge responsibility of the state or locals - not the federal taxpayer's responsibility.
