Travelers are having a rough Christmas Eve at the airport due in part to the coronavirus omicron variant. According to Flight Aware, United Airlines has canceled 170 flights scheduled for Friday, about 9% of its planned schedule, and about 90 that were slated for Saturday. FOX Business has identified 21 instances where United Airlines cancellations on Christmas Eve are directly attributed to the coronavirus, stating that staffing issues have caused the cancellation. For a flight from Denver to Newark scheduled for Friday, for example, the following message is shown on the United Airlines website: "Your flight is canceled due to an increase in Covid cases

Comments:

It's not the omicron variant of Covid that's the problem, it's the reaction to the omicron variant that caused this. How many of these employees are out of work because they tested positive but are asymptomatic? Or were merely exposed to someone with Covid but are otherwise healthy?

"Staffing issues"? Probably caused by employees fired because of not getting the ineffective and unsafe mRNA shots.

Are these travelers nuts? They know what they are getting into the moment they leave for the airport with their massive pile of luggage. Holiday travel by air is never smooth or on-time. The cold and flu fake pandemic has disrupted things to the point that a miserable holiday is now guaranteed. Drive or stay home, it's not worth it and the system obviously can not handle it and hasn't been able to since the 1990s. Force the airlines to become efficient by starving them.

Perhaps Congress should call all the Airline Execs before a Special Session and ask them why they should be allowed to retain their Air Carrier Registrations if they're going to refuse to fly? We can find someone else to operate those aircraft.

Airlines ought to have to pay a penalty to customers for cancelling and rerouting flights. I once was on a United flight in Denver headed for Oklahoma City. The United plane next to us was to go to Dallas. The Dallas plane broke down. United put the Dallas passengers on the OKC flight. Instead of going to OKC we went to Dallas first and were many hours delayed due to lost Chinese passengers that got off in Dallas, refueling, and deicing the plane. Got to OKC at 3:30 AM and home at 5:30. Driving is my preferred method of travel.

As soon as Chief Fauxihontas gets done reaming the grocery chain execs for gouging the people, she can get on the airline execs.

My wife recently said I should write about it since I keep remarking on it. The “it” was my pet peeve at television commentators who consistently use the word “utilize” instead of “use.” In my own experience, it started with Dick Vitale and his commentary on NCAA basketball games. Whenever it was appropriate for him to use the word “use” he would use “utilize” instead. Now, were he to say that last sentence it would come out as: Whenever it was appropriate for him to utilize the word “use” he would utilize “utilize” instead. And now, it has spread everywhere.

The sheriff for Los Angeles County spoke out Tuesday night on "Fox News @ Night," claiming the work of law enforcement officers in the state was being undermined by liberal policies by some district attorneys. Fox News host Shannon Bream asked Sheriff Alex Villanueva to react to recent comments from San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin, who criticized calls for crackdowns on recent crime spikes as "knee-jerk reactions," and claimed that "smash-and-grab" thefts in California were "not new." "There’s nothing ‘knee-jerk’ about it. It’s just common sense," Villanueva said. "This person just does not get it and I’m sorry to hear that.

Longtime CNN producer John Griffin attempted to pay off witnesses, offered a woman $30,000 for a "mother daughter weekend with me," and told authorities that he was "ashamed" when he was arrested for allegedly abusing a 9-year-old girl and enticing other minors, U.S. Attorney for the District of Vermont Nikolas Kerest wrote in a motion for detention ahead of Griffin’s arraignment on Wednesday. The prosecutor laid out the "substantial" evidence against Griffin in the motion, which asks the judge to hold Griffin in jail without bail while his case is pending.

An Alabama judge was removed from the bench for committing several substantial ethics violations, including referring to another judge as an "Uncle Tom," a derogatory term meant to describe a Black person who is overly allegiant to White people. Jefferson County Judge Nakita Blocton, who is herself Black, "engaged in a pattern and practice of making inappropriate comments – for example, calling one judge ‘Uncle Tom" and another judge a ‘fat b****’ and calling an employee a heifer," according to the findings of a commission that filed a complaint against the judge for various ethics violations.

At least 16 U.S. cities have set new homicide records in 2021, according to local police departments. It's a trend police departments have noted from East Coast to West, even as other violent crimes such as aggravated assault and non-violent crimes such as burglary decline in the same areas. "It's definitely worse this year, for us at least," Rochester Police Department Public Information Officer Carlos Alvarado told Fox News Digital of the upstate New York city's homicide numbers for 2021. Rochester had seen a record 80 homicide deaths in 2021 as of Tuesday. The city's previous record was 69 in 1991, Alvarado said,

Let’s perform an experiment. Open up your favorite search engine (hopefully that’s the unwoke DuckDuckGo), pick a mainstream media outlet, and find a link to their website. Once on their homepage, spend a few seconds perusing the headlines and see if you can find any mention of the ongoing Ghislaine Maxwell Trial. And to be fair, we should pick at least three such outlets. At the time of this writing, Wednesday evening on December 15, 2021 one such experiment yielded the following: (1) ABC News: On the first screen we see, there are no mentions of the trial at all.

Groups who have received funds as part of "Inspire Change," the NFL's social justice initiative, include the Vera Institute of Justice, the Oregon Justice Resource Center and the Community Justice Exchange. All three of those groups support defunding or abolishing the police, a review of their public statements shows. While the NFL's general support of social justice causes is widely known,

Democratic mayors are raising eyebrows with their responses to the rising crime plaguing major cities like New York City, Chicago and Philadelphia. The U.S. murder rate rose 30% between 2019 and 2020, according to FBI data – the largest annual increase on record, with Chicago topping the list. At least 12 major cities, including New York, have already set historical murder records in 2021. Robberies and assaults are also on the rise, and retailers in major cities across the country are reporting an uptick in organized smash-and-grab crimes during the busy holiday shopping season.

Ex-Superintendent Eddie Johnson told NewsNationNow's "Morning in America" that Smollett left his home around 2 a.m. on the day he claimed to be attacked to buy the sandwich. The events of the past five or six years have demonstrated to America that the FBI is no longer the unbiased law enforcement agency it once was. (snip) There are only two options: rehabilitate the FBI, or eliminate it. The current state is unacceptable in a functioning constitutional republic.(snip) The DoJ has not only failed to provide course correction to the FBI, it has arguably contributed to the problems. The rebuilding of the FBI should be overseen by a board chartered with the mission of rehabilitation, and staffed with people who care about integrity and understand what a well-functioning police organization should look like.

Santa Claus is too white, too straight and too male for most young people in the UK today, according to a poll. The modern depiction of Father Christmas as an old white man with a big bushy beard who wears a red and white suit was made globally famous by Coca Cola’s adverts of the 1930s. A survey by YouGov has now found that 60 per cent of 18–24-year-olds in the UK think it is ‘acceptable’ for Santa to be gay. But 41 per cent across all age groups said it was not OK, including 17 per cent of lesbian, gay and bisexual respondents.

As we celebrate what may be the last shared American tradition, Christmas, Rush’s absence is palpably felt — his voice is being missed.
