The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is recruiting priests and theologians to assess how the world’s major religions would react to the news of discovering extraterrestrial life and advise the agency on how to quell civil unrest upon the revelation.The agency has enlisted 24 religious experts to develop protocols for the discovery of alien life in its Center for Theological Inquiry program at Princeton University in New Jersey.NASA provided CTI with a $1.1 million grant to create the program devoted to researching “the societal implications of astrobiology” in 2015.

Aliens....less likely than the sun exploding tomorrow afternoon.
If they are out there, they wouldn't bother with even talking to us, is my bet.

I guess that these theologians don't read The Holy Bible carefully.
Isaiah 45:12. "It is I who made the earth and created mankind upon it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts."
and in Isaiah 45:18 "For this is what the Lord says‐-
he who created the heavens, he is God;
he who fashioned and made the earth,
he founded it;
he did not create it to be empty,
but formed it to be inhabited----
he says:
'I am the Lord,
and there is no other. ' "
There are more Scripture that also say " earth " no other planets are mentioned that have life on it, only earth.
But Scriptures also say that this world and heavens are inhabited by heavenly and evil beings.
These are just my thoughts, I am willing to hear what others think.

There goes $ 1.1 million down the drain. Enjoy SiFi as much as anyone but there are no extraterrestrial aliens. Just the ones crossing in from Mexico. The answer to Fermi's paradox is the reason why we haven't detected extraterrestrial life is there is none. We are alone. This is it.

Wherever is revealed is demonic in origin and satanic in nature designed to scare and fool people into believing God did not create the world and heavens.

Why does NASA have -anything- to do with *civil unrest* of any sort caused by anything, aliens or otherwise?
Does NASA have a military or police force? Riot control? What is this about? Hopefully just the usual bad journalism on a science topic as the typical journalist knows just enough science to turn their tv on and off.

They exist. Its been an open secret for thousands of years. Maybe now we will get "official" confirmation of it. Problem is, this government has a 100% track record of lying to promote its own political aims. I would have to see some serious evidence before I would believe it.

Here's the "Alien" lifeforms... they're called Angels, both Fallen and Elect, according to the Bible. They are superior to humans and they pre-existed our creation. They are no longer visible after the daughters of men had children by them prompting the Noahic Flood. That's it. No other life in the Universe... none, anywhere but here.

bad segment of the population to ask such a question - why not just go to the source and find the man/woman on the street and ask them - oh, yah, they probably like our President Donald J. Trump so, they're too stupid so understand such a complicated question - or maybe the answers would be too blunt and honest for them

I happen to believe that there is life "out there". Whether or not they care coming here or if we will ever go "there" is entirely debatable. That said....what's the likelihood that scientists, religions and governments haven't been gaming this very question for decades?
Every religion, past and present, has their gods or God, creating the heavens and earth. Every religion has their gods or God interacting, guiding etc the people and events. There are several issues. What happens when major religions or all religions are debunked overnight? What happens if we discover that, say the Hindus are proven correct? Or that most religions have it right on the big issues but have all of the details scrambled. Or, aliens and humans finally meet and they have as many different religions as we do.
So.....when the facts eventually come out...millions or billions of people are going to have their beliefs challenged. And many will be angry and resort to violence.
This may explain why governments around the world are driving religion from the public sphere. Maybe they know something that we dont.

I believe humans are hybrids of aliens and ancient people. They are just checking up on the "kids". As we are about to destroy ourselves, their mission is to put a stop to it. Live long and prosper!

8,
I see nothing in scripture that explicitly states there is no life except on earth. It may very well be that way. But if there IS alien life somewhere it only means God was at work somewhere else in the Universe.
To that point, if we were to find signs of life say... on Mars, that would be the strongest case for the existence of God one could imagine. Why? Because the argument for life springing from random circumstances that atheists cling to as their ONLY means for life to exist at all would fall to pieces if it were learned that life appeared separately on two neighboring planets. Not saying we will find any sign of life on Mars, but IF we did, be prepared to slice and dice naturalism to little bitty pieces. Given the impossible odds of life popping up from inanimate matter in one place... having it happen twice in close proximity would be a fatal blow to naturalistic causes for life to appear absent an intelligent cause.

Logically the numbers tell you there should be alien life but what if we find there isn't any? What if earth is the only place, what does that mean about god and why there is life here?
