Oakland: NBC news crew robbed at gunpoint

An NBC sports crew was robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning in Oakland, police said. The crew was on assignment in the Jack London Square area when three armed individuals took a camera from inside the crew’s vehicle, according to Oakland Police Department spokesperson Kim Armstead. None of the crew members were holding the camera at the time and there were no injuries. The robbery marks the third incident involving news organizations in Oakland in the last two-and-a-half weeks. On Dec. 3, a San Francisco Chronicle photographer was robbed at gunpoint in West Oakland. And on Nov. 24, Kevin Nishita—a security guard and former police officer

Comments:

They cancelled the long-running TV show COPS because showing bLACK people who insist on committing crimes is not comical, but rather wrongthink. News crews should likewise be banned from showing themselves being robbed by Africans because it's a given that this is what they do.

Was the camera worth more than $950? If the answer's no, this is California. What's the big deal?

Where is the problem? Call a social worker. Remember, we need to 'reimagine' policing and criminal justice. The left has turned criminal justice into an oxymoron. How have the crime victim advocacy groups remained silent on this travesty?

This would be a moment of delightful schadenfreude - - if only we thought they would learn something from this. But - - alas - - they will not. They're way, way too dumb to add 2 + 2 - - and come up with the right answer. The TV crew - - and all of None But Clueless - - will remain ensconced in their delusional bubble - - for as long as they're able to fog a mirror.

In a memo to workers on Tuesday, Amtrak said it would allow employees who were not vaccinated to get tested on a weekly basis instead, citing litigation over President Joe Biden's vaccine mandate. Currently, fewer than 500 active Amtrak employees are not in compliance, and 97.3 percent of the service's workers have gotten at least one shot, Amtrak CEO Bill Flynn said in the memo. A suburban police officer and five Queens residents were charged Tuesday with luring underage Mexican girls to New York and forcing them into prostitution, with the corrupt cop accused of accepting sex from the victims as payment for his work as a law enforcement mole. The long-running operation, dating back almost 20 years, involved a pair of Queens-based schemes: the Ced-Hernandez sex trafficking organization brought the young women to New York with false promises of a better life, authorities charged in a 14-count Brooklyn Federal Court indictment. The Godinez prostitution operation then drove the victims to meet with clients including Wayne Peiffer, a Village of Brewster police

A Mercedes and a Ford SUV rushed toward the San Ysidro border crossing at a high rate of speed, and a Customs and Border Protection officer who was walking among the cars awaiting entry fired at the Mercedes, the government said. The bullets didn’t wound anyone, but the Mercedes crashed into the Ford and two people in the Mercedes were injured, CBP said Tuesday. Officers found 18 Russians among the two vehicles. Cornell University has gone into 'red alert' territory and moved student finals online after a spike in COVID-19 cases that officials suspect has been caused by the highly-contagious Omicron variant. Libraries have been shut, athletic competitions are cancelled and upcoming events have been scrapped after 214 new cases were confirmed Monday and another 227 tests came back positive Sunday. Cases at the Ithaca, New York campus—where 97 percent of staff and students are vaccinated, the university says—began snowballing last week. There were 12 cases December 6 and another 27 on December 7; the following day, the figure more than doubled to 58 cases, according to university data.

The Justice Department Office of the Inspector General on Tuesday said four FBI officials hired prostitutes while on the job. In an investigative summary, the department watchdog said the officials were on assignment overseas when they “solicited, procured, and accepted commercial sex” in violation of FBI and Justice Department policies. A fifth official reportedly solicited, but did not hire, a prostitute. “The OIG investigation further found that five officials failed to report contact or relationships with foreign nationals, including foreign nationals from whom they procured commercial sex, in violation of FBI policies,” the summary states. During the probe, two of the officials being investigated resigned, two retired and one was removed.

But don’t miss the forest for the trees. The point Cheney was making isn’t that Fox News hosts are hypocrites, although they are. The point is that the president’s own family and allies were pleading with him while the riot was unfolding to do something, yet he did nothing — for hours. Everyone around him treated it like an emergency. Not him. Was that a crime? Watch the end of this clip, starting at around 3:00.
