Oxford High School Appears To Have Used
Controversial ‘Restorative’ Discipline
Practices Prior To School Shooting

On Tuesday, November 30, a 15-year-old boy allegedly used a firearm belonging to his father to open fire on classmates, killing four students. The morning of the attack, school administrators met with the boy’s parents and showed them disturbing notes found that day indicating the boy was willing to do harm to himself and others. The boy also was caught searching for ammo on his phone just days before the shooting. But, rather than disciplining the child, the school simply gave the parents the option of pulling him out of class or leaving him in school following a meeting with school officials.

Will the school officials and teachers who support this nonsense also be charged as accessories? This was avoidable. They seemed to know far more than even his own parents did, which is no great shock since the answer to "How was school today, dear?" from any teen is usually "Fine."

as for "the thoughts won't stop, help me" - fwiw, prayer does realign people. There isn't something else that works. It is unfortunate people hate God, because there's nothing like Him. The Hail Mary is especially famous for ending nightmares and so on. I am sorry everybody ignores the Mother of God because there again, whether we like it or not, she has a role and there's no substitute. it is just kind of futile hating the Maker and his designated deputies for this and that. For peace of mind, the Hail Mary, and if you don't like it, maybe I can say it for you and who knows that may work.

I'm not a big fan of "coulda, woulda, shoulda...." kinds of finger pointing after an adverse event. A lot of things that are "obvious" after the fact are NOT obvious before. But, all by itself, the drawing and writing seems to call for immediate removal of the child from school, and a look into his locker and backpack wouldn't seem out of order, at that point. The drawing/writing seems pretty clearly oriented towards a mental problem, and potential violence. And ......then, next time, we'll have the brainless "zero tolerance" fools arresting and cuffing kids for pointing a finger or a partially eaten Pop-Tart at someone - calling that a 'credible threat of violence', which is absolutely ridiculous. It would be so, so wonderful if there was a bit of common sense left in the world, but it's gotten so rare that it's almost like some super power. It used to actually be common. Really.

I'm curious to know whether any of the students had disciplinary action for acts against the shooter. I think that is also a valid line of questioning. Was he bullied? What was done about it. Were parents informed? The build up to this crime is almost as important as the other things mentioned. When I was growing up, I frequently had to deal with bullies. I faced them down and took my lumps. When a teacher or principal mediated, I spoke frankly about the situation. In Jr. High and High School I regularly had to deal with gangs of bullies coming after me because I would protect the smaller kids. One was two grades ahead of me, a 'hero' football player who could bench 350 lbs and liked to use his strength to augment his lunch funds. I had the access to do what this kid did, but there were a couple of things that derailed it. 1. Punishment was not 'no-fault'. The administrators listened to the evidence and gave a verdict. 2. You were allowed and expected to defend your fellow students from harm. 3. Students who bullied regularly were warned, then suspended, then expelled. There wasn't even any of this modern 'Pschycology' B.S. You played by the rules or you were out. Go get your own counseling.

Why didn't any of them bother to ask where the gun was? These parents are clueless and the school administration as well allowing such a lack of discipline to exist! Time to start being concerned over more than CRT, using "Proper" pronouns, allowing transgenders to roam freely in restrooms of their choice = keeping everyone "happy" and stop ignoring any signs of behavior that can harm other students!

The schools are not qualified to deal with mentally disturbed, possibly psychotic, kids. Should not be allowed to even try. In the Miami-Dade School District, similar nonsense was promoted to make minority kids’ crime stats look better. Remember Trayvon Martin?

Re the “bullying”, of which there is no evidence, I believe it is more apt to be shunning. Fairly normal kids simply avoid the strange ones, the outliers, the weird ones. That is not bullying, but it could add to those odd-man-out kids distress and anger. We are too quick to go for “bullying”...

There was a lot of news this week, but I didn’t want to miss talking about how one very important Biden hypocrisy caught up to him this week during a White House press briefing. When President Donald Trump was in office, Joe Biden took every effort to blame all the COVID deaths on him. But now that Biden is in office and there have been more deaths under Biden than there were under Trump, even with vaccines and treatments, Biden and the media are strangely silent about those numbers. Biden is, of course, not taking any responsibility for those numbers. But White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked

New York City remains largely reopened after all of the COVID shutdowns and many people are returning to work in their offices rather than from home via Zoom calls and such. But that doesn’t mean that life has gone back to what it was in pre-pandemic days. While the threat from the virus may be decreasing, the threat of violent crime has been steadily climbing in the other direction and that has altered the way employers have been advising their workers about safely commuting and navigating the streets of the city. At some Wall Street financial institutions, managers are telling

Americans with a “great deal of confidence” in the U.S. military dropped a staggering 11 percent from February under Commander in Chief Joe Biden, according to a survey released Friday by the Ronald Reagan Institute. The Reagan National Defense Survey showed that the percentage of Americans having a great deal of trust and confidence in the U.S. military was only 45 percent — the first time that number has dropped below 50 percent since the survey was first conducted in 2018. It is also a steep drop from 56 percent in February 2021. The institute said in its summary, “Almost a year into the Biden Administration and

Or is it a cross between COVID and HIV? I shouldn’t say “a cross,” as that’s overstating what happened here. Researchers in Massachusetts looked at the new variant’s genome and found a weird quirk. It contains a tiny bit of genetic code that hasn’t appeared in any previous variant of SARS-CoV-2 but does appear in other coronaviruses, including one associated with the common cold. How did that happen? Their theory is that the coronavirus that causes COVID and some other virus were present and replicating in patient zero at the same time. Remember the (very) old Reese’s commercial, “you got your chocolate in my peanut butter”?

Governor Ron DeSantis proposed reinstating Florida’s State Guard—and the entire leftist establishment went mad. So mad, indeed, that Sarah Silverman, of all people, issued a “calm down” warning to MSNBC’s professional hysteric, Joy Reid. State guard forces are nothing new and nothing exciting. Indeed, even Wikipedia has an honest and temperate description of them. It explains that they are military units that operate under the aegis of the given state’s governor. Unlike a state’s national guard forces, they cannot be federalized. (You may recall how the Democrats called national guard forces to D.C. in January so there’d be someone there to witness the inauguration of our current (p)resident.)

In three days, new coronavirus cases have nearly tripled, due to the emergence of the new variant.
