Iowa’s Medicaid system must cover gender confirmation surgery, a judge ruled Friday. Polk County District Court Judge William P. Kelly ruled that a state law that blocked Medicaid from covering gender confirmation procedures violated the Iowa Civil Rights Act and the Iowa Constitution—allowing trans Iowans to receive coverage for medically necessary surgery to treat gender dysphoria. Gender dysphoria is defined as a “marked incongruence between their experienced or expressed gender and the one they were assigned at birth.” It is a serious medical condition that often begins in childhood, even though some people may not experience it until after puberty or even later, according to the American Psychiatric Association.

Comments:

Gender dysphoria is a seriously profitable condition that must be treated at taxpayer expense, advocates say.

"Gender Confirmation" doesn't require ANY surgery, unless scissors need to be used to remove someones shorts. One Quick peek results in 100% Confirmation. Subsidizing self selected Butchery is NOT anywhere in the Constitution, nor in any prior Compilation of Law that has EVER existed in the entire History of Mankind.

"Gender" is a term of grammar. And English - -oddly - - is one of the few languages which DOESN'T use gender. What these deluded people are talking about is sex - - an immutable characteristic which occurs at conception. "Gender dysphoria" is just another way for mentally-disturbed people to play make-believe. Fine - - go ahead and play make-believe - - but don't expect me to play along with you.

Their "expressed gender" means their biological sex. But gender is entirely in the head of the afflicted, until it reaches into taxpayers' pockets. If I identify as a wealthy man, but my physical expression is of a lower-middle-income man, can I make the state cover the difference between the two? Good grief, Iowa used to be a bastion of sanity surrounded by "Progressive" idiocy. A real salt-of-the-earth, a place of simple well-groundedness and common sense. "used to be", being the operative phrase there...

First, mental illness is not a civil right it is a medical condition where rights are curtailed for the good of the patient and those around them not expanded for the right of the illness! Second, you don't treat patients that have gender dysphoria with surgery you refer them to mental health practitioners! Third, this judge needs to be removed from the bench and referred to mental health practitioner!

This type of surgery entails removing healthy breasts from teens. Surgeons are even removing the nipples - for those who imagine they are non-binary. This is a travesty & a crime. The more complicated surgery - adding or removing what God gave you below the belt requires very skilled surgeons who have trained in several specialties. Any self-respecting & ethical surgeon would not do any of this type of surgery. It is said that the profession of surgery tends to attract people who have personality disorders themselves. I am sure there is a percentage of doctors who believe they can re-arrange the body any way they wish. I hope the legislature can step in and stop the worst of this mutilation of of kids & young adults.

Our law schools are pumping out raging leftists who work their way onto the bench and now we have rulings like this one. We cannot have activist judges on the bench. Many are either true believers or simply cowards who fear to stand for what is right. Who would have believed that the high school desire for acceptance would still be knocking around in the heads of so called learned individuals tasked to make serious decisions. Clearly, while most Americans were busy raising a family and making a living, leftists were worming their way into every organization that affects our society as a whole in order to destroy the principles on which this country was founded. Shockingly, physicians and scientists have joined them in their insanity.

Gender confirmation? Why is a surgeon necessary to help the imbecile unzip his trousers and look down between his legs? For girls it's even easier, 1. Lift up skirt 2. Take a peek 3. Note results of peek. Playing along with the confused person is one thing, playing along with the doctor who has had eight years of "higher education" is quite another.

The US will not restrict travel from South Africa, where a new 'super mutant' variant of COVID-19 is panicking scientists, until officials can study the variant more, Dr. Anthony Fauci said on Friday despite the UK and some European countries banning travel. The World Health Organization is currently meeting to discuss the variant, which is expected to be named Nu, today. It remains unclear exactly how deadly it is among unvaccinated people, and American health agencies are yet to make any form of warning about it but there are fears it is more transmissible than any other variant yet and that it may also render some vaccines ineffective.
ICE arrests plummeted under Biden guidance;

ICE authorized just 20,858 arrests in the six months after the Biden administration announced new rules restricting which illegal immigrants could be targeted—or an average of just one arrest every two months for each deportation officer. That’s down exponentially from the Trump years, when the rate averaged two arrests each month, and it’s even worse compared to the peak Obama years, when the ratio was about four arrests each month. But even though U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says it’s catching fewer people overall, it’s arresting more aggravated felons, which ICE says is proof the new rules are working to allow officers to focus on the most valuable targets.
