The US Department of Interior is creating a new task force to identify federal lands that contain slurs or derogatory terms and rename them, mirroring changes already made by sports franchises and private businesses in recent years. The Derogatory Geographic Names Task Force will include representatives from federal land management agencies along with diversity, equity and inclusion experts, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland announced Friday. The process will include dialogue with tribes, state and local governments and the public, the department said, adding that it was now classifying the term 'squaw'—referring to an indigenous woman—as officially derogatory. There are 600 federal land units with the name 'squaw,'

They lay awake nights looking for ways to screw with the country for imaginary 'slights'.
Wasn't "squaw" the indian word for woman or wife? I don't think anyone has caused it to be anything other than that.....Indian word for wife. What the hell?

Washington Pass through the Chuska Mountains of New Mexico which rise in Navajo Country was renamed Narbona Pass. Rather than being named for the Father of Our Country, the pass was originally named for one Colonel John Washington whose troops killed some Navajos in 1849 including an elder named Narbona. In the early 90s some Navajo college students ferreted out the true namesake of the location and raised enough hell that the US Board on Geographic Names voted for the name change.
My personal favorite is "Squaw T*t Peak" out in Nevada.

The Black Hills is an obvious candidate. Indian River. Jefferson City. Yankee Doodle. Leesburg. Mother's Oats. White Pine. Coke Zero. Indian Giver. Dark Chocolate. We're barely getting started.

Meanwhile, the tinder and brush keep building up in our national forests. How about spending some time cleaning that out, Ms. Haaland? Oh wait, if you do that you can’t have conferences in Puerto Rico, Aspen, or Hawaii! What was I thinking? Carry on…

Gotta re-name Ferguson...Patrick Ferguson, inventor of the Ferguson "assault" rifle(capable of firing 6 shots a minute), royal englands best sniper, missed his opportunity to take out George Washington. Which would have kept the racist states of America from ever occurring..
But wait there's more!
He then went to the Caribbean and put down Slave Revolts!

In 1996 the PETA people went nuts over a town named Fishkill , in New York. They were upset by the "violent imagery". New York was a Dutch inhabited area. " Kill" means creek. The town has retained its name.

where is the "democracy" the dims claim to stand for? They are kowtowing to a very small group of people and not representing their constituencies. it is obvious that they are being controlled by the dnc who holds their re-election funds hostage.

its all meaningless unless the countries of Niger and Nigeria change their names. Don't ask them to do it. Just change their names for them.
Rename the watermelon too. Its such a trigger. While we are at it, ban the word trigger too.
This is so stupid. What a waste of money. What incompetence! We have more important matters to attend to rather than renaming anything that might be offensive.
#15 is right. All these people need to be fired. This is not governing.

Here's a simple solution change Chinaman's Gulch to George Floyd Gulch just add Floyd's name to everything. The George Floyd Peaks, George Floyd Canyon and so on. Let's just hope if a Republican becomes president change all of this back along with replacing historic statues. I'm sick of all this PC, woke crappola. FJB

Well let's hope the idiots change the names of the following: Cracker Neck Road, Washburn, TN , Cracker Neck Hollow and Cracker Neck Creek, MO, Cracker Neck, VA, Cracker's Neck, Mississipi, Crackerneck Ln, Washburn, MO, HONKY TOWN , Lenawee County , MI, and any tavern known as a Honky Tonk should now be known as just a tavern or saloon.

If there's one thing our federal government knows how to do, it's spend money we don't have, ideally on something negative. The commies promised to do just this as part of dismantling the foundations of the nation until the thing collapses; rename everything and then everything else is malleable. Surely they'll stop at this, and not as a next step announce that anything named for Washington and Jefferson endorses slavery.
