Harvey Milk destroyed PFC Oliver ‘Billy’
Sipple, the hero who saved a president

Original Article

The U.S. Navy recently named USNS Harvey Milk after the ‘70s gay rights activist. Amid the current fetish of erasing heroes for blotches on their records, it begs the question: If we judge Washingtons and Jeffersons by their worst moments, why don’t we judge Mr. Milk by his? He destroyed the hero who saved a U.S. president. You may not know the name of left-wing radical Sara Jane Moore, but it would live in infamy alongside Booth, Guiteau, Czolgosz and Oswald if not for the quick reflexes of PFC Oliver “Billy” Sipple. On September 22, 1975, he acted every would-be time traveler’s dream at a San Francisco hotel.

Comments:

Harvey Milk, LGBTQP/leftist hero, was not only a pedophile, but he also "outed" and thus ruined the life of a disabled Marine veteran who saved President Ford from the bullet of a would-be assassin. The writer is right; that ship would be far better named for Sipple than for a degenerate like Milk.

Agree Sipple would be a better name for the ship than Milk, whom I knew from his shop on Castro, but I also knew Sara Jane Moore, quite well actually and believe she was sincere when she told me several times she NEVER INTENDED to kill Ford, only to scare him, not that it lessens Sipple’s heroism one bit. I just wanted to sharpen up the historical record.

#1 - Really? Are you an apologist for an assassin? Is that a defense and explanation or and excuse? When one pulls and points a gun at a person in a crowd, POTUS or not, their intent is clear. The only thing that would lend credence to her lie is if she had loaded the gun with blanks. Otherwise, she was an assassin by definition and deserved her fate.

By all accounts, Harvey Milk was a piece of trash. Dan White did the world a huge favor. It's an abomination that Milk's name adorns a navy vessel. The next GOP POTUS needs to rectify that.

I wouldn't want to be the navigator or wheel man on that ship because it would tend to steer far left possibly traveling in circles. That job would certainly 'suck'.

The names of ships have been changed before! There had to be a bunch of California and San Francisco area liberal Democrat politicians behind the Navy’s decision to name that ship after that particular individual.

The military’s system of implementing a COVID-19 vaccination order for all those in the ranks is facing unprecedented stress as a historic number of soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines say their faith should allow them to skip getting the shot. The result so far has been a massive logistical headache for Pentagon leaders and an unenviable task for the chaplains who find themselves in the crosshairs. It’s a dilemma that shows no signs of easing as the services’ vaccine deadlines come and go. With the Defense Department mounting an aggressive push to get service members vaccinated and force out those who refuse, sources across military branches said the sheer volume

President Biden called on state and local leaders to follow suit of his administration to advance policies that aid and protect LGBTQ people. “Transgender people are some of the bravest Americans I know. But no person should have to be brave just to live in safety and dignity. Today, we remember. Tomorrow—and every day—we must continue to act,” Mr. Biden said in a statement. The president also condemned various bills across GOP-led state legislatures that are aimed at curbing transgender policies.

The relationship between Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and their respective staffs has been on rocky ground for months. As RedState previously reported, the vice president and her camp have complained about being abandoned, even blaming racism as a possible factor, while the White House has fretted at Harris’ sheer incompetence and inability to garner support on her own. Those tensions have led to lots of speculation about what exactly happens in 2024. Harris is clearly a terrible candidate, something she showed during the 2020 presidential primary, but she’s also the heir apparent until Democrats forcibly remove her from that position.
