Rittenhouse On Trial

Original Article

Kyle Rittenhouse is the then-17 year old boy who showed up in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during the violent riots, looting and arson that occurred last year. Rittenhouse, armed with a rifle, wanted to help maintain order and protect private property, but it was a misguided mission to say the least. He ran afoul of extreme leftists, most likely Antifa members, and, coming under attack, shot three of them, two fatally. Viewing the videos that were circulating at the time, it seemed pretty clear to me that the kid acted in self-defense. Now Rittenhouse is being prosecuted for murder. To sum up his life-destroying experience,

Rittenhouse should be, in a fair trial, acquitted of all charges. Hell, in a fair treatment, he'd never have been charged. The violent scum that he shot clearly deserved it. Good riddance. The only problem that I see is that the armed guy lived, only had his arm messed up pretty badly. Too bad that Rittenhouse didn't get a good center hit on that thug, who was aiming a loaded handgun at Rittenhouse at the moment he was shot. This is not in the slightest dispute, having been caught on multiple videos.

Despite the best efforts of the devious and lying prosecution, they will not be able to pin the murder charge on him. More of us should have been in the streets with rifles but the democrats clearly wanted the real criminals to burn and loot without interference.

Rittenhouse should be fined for only getting 2 out of 3... Set him free and give him another chance.

Not if I am on that jury, #5. Since the cops can't or won't protect the citizenry, we must step up and fill the gap. Thugs deserve exactly what they got. It's too bad one survived to feral again.

#5... Better get to your fainting couch... We have the right to bear arms... It doesn't specify when we should not. Rittenhouse would be dead if he didn't have a weapon... Or is that what you want...

The only legitimate charge should be for purchasing a weapon deceptively (he was not old enough so he gave his friend the money to buy it for him). He has already paid a heavy price for that very stupid move. I think the prosecution is doing a great job of highlighting the positive attributes of Kyle and contrasting him with the idiot rioters. I remember watching the OJ trial when a black murderer was acquitted. I believe that with the likely jury selection in this trial he could very well be convicted even if all the witnesses and evidence screams "not guilty". Not saying it will happen, but just because an unbiased reader believes he should not even be on trial, the left mob seems to get everything they want right now and the left are vengeful.

The state can't allow Rittenhouse to be found innocent. It can't afford to endure more peaceful protests, and you can't explain self-defense law to 'those people'

Mark Richards turned down a very high level dream team of lawyers! I fear that the defense is incompetent! The jury pool is tainted by all the news media locally! He will probably be convicted and then an appeal might release him. He will then be forever branded as guilty in the public's mind and he will spend years in jail. a travesty!

Re: #5, I can't think of a better tool to have in a "violent situation" than a powerful weapon to use to defend yourself. You say that as if it is a bad choice, when I think it was the exactly correct choice. In fact, every day, I carry a fairly powerful weapon, on the off chance that by accident, I might find my self in a 'violent situation' and have to use it. Rittenhouse did NOT precipitate any of the violence that was directed towards him by violent thugs. He defended himself from attack. That is a good thing.

I think the Judge in this case is a decent and honest guy from the statements he has been making. The persecutor named Binger needs to lose his law license permanently. Some cops also need to get fired as well. The kid did more to save that area from a disaster than most grown men did. Not to mention he rid the world of some perverted registered sex offender scum.

If the third rioter thug had accomplished killing Rittenhouse with his pistol (lucky he didn't) we would be reading that the first shooting victim was just enjoying himself by a campfire which he started in a dumpster. The second shooting victim was just an innocent skateboarder enjoying the open street to skate that night. The third wounded victim was protecting himself from the feral rifle wielding aggressive teenager. See how easy it is to change the story. Rittenhouse could have stayed home but many in these times make different choices than I would but maybe not the same in my youth. Rittenhouse was just a bit more razor edge than his attackers if you ask me.

We’ve written before about how the prosecution seems to have been imploding its own case in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse. There was the opening statement where the prosecutor, Thomas Binger, claimed that Rittenhouse was chasing Joseph Rosenbaum rather than the truth that it was the other way around. Then he questioned his own witnesses without seeming to know what they would answer — with Richie McGinniss saying Rosenbaum lunged at Rittenhouse, said “F**k you!” and grabbed Rittenhouse’s gun and Ryan Balch saying Rosenbaum threatened to kill him and Rittenhouse. Today was perhaps the capper of them all that completely blew up the case. The defense was questioning Gaige Grosskreutz

The man wounded by Kyle Rittenhouse on August 25, 2020, during the Kenosha, Wisc., riots blew up the state’s case against the accused murderer under cross-examination on Monday afternoon. Though Gaige Grosskreutz spent a couple of hours on the witness stand, the man Rittenhouse wounded that night blew up the state’s case in one short span of cross-examination on Monday. Two other men were killed by Rittenhouse that night. Grosskreutz was a medic and was a peripatetic protester. He lived in Milwaukee and traveled to Kenosha to continue his 75-day protest streak following the death of George Floyd and the wounding of Jacob Blake in Kenosha. He live-streamed

My friend who reads the New York Times alerted me to this article about rural America’s continued movement away from the Democratic party. I’m glad he did. The article is well worth reading. The most noteworthy thing about the Times’ piece is the numbers it presents from Virginia: In 2008, there were only four small Virginia counties where Republicans won 70% or more of the vote in that year’s presidential race. Nowhere was the party above 75%. This year, Youngkin was above 70% in 45 counties — and he surpassed 80% in 15 of them. Virginia has 95 counties. The Times doesn’t say how many of them are rural,

Republicans probably wish the midterms were tomorrow, with the results of the elections this week, and now with the results of a latest poll on Joe Biden. It’s not looking good for old Joe and the Democrats. Biden has the worst approval rating of anyone at this point in his term, 38 to 59 percent, except for President Donald Trump who was constantly being assailed by the leftist media,

That announcement from President Joe Biden about federal vaccine mandates that would affect nearly all workers in the private sector is about as solid as a slice of swiss cheese. Every time we think we’re getting our heads wrapped around it, more changes or exceptions seem to appear. The latest is being hailed by representatives of the trucking industry as “a huge victory” because the Department of Labor has now decided that most truckers will not fall under the mandate. And if they do, they will have the option of submitting weekly negative COVID tests instead of getting the shot if they wish. So what makes truck drivers so special?

Democrat President Joe Biden’s approval rating keeps sinking, now down to 37.8 percent in the latest USA Today/Suffolk University poll. The sharp turn against the sitting president comes as Republicans take a commanding lead in the generic congressional ballot, and the public sours on Biden’s agenda. A strong majority of 59 percent disapproves of Biden, with just 37.8 percent approving of his job performance and 3.2 percent undecided. Biden’s support crash, according to USA Today’s article accompanying the release of the polling, comes in large part because he “cratered among the independent voters who delivered his margin of victory over President Donald Trump one year ago.”
