The man wounded by Kyle Rittenhouse on August 25, 2020, during the Kenosha, Wisc., riots blew up the state’s case against the accused murderer under cross-examination on Monday afternoon. Though Gaige Grosskreutz spent a couple of hours on the witness stand, the man Rittenhouse wounded that night blew up the state’s case in one short span of cross-examination on Monday. Two other men were killed by Rittenhouse that night. Grosskreutz was a medic and was a peripatetic protester. He lived in Milwaukee and traveled to Kenosha to continue his 75-day protest streak following the death of George Floyd and the wounding of Jacob Blake in Kenosha. He live-streamed

At the end of the prosecution's case, defense counsel will ask the judge for a directed verdict of acquittal (or dismissal of charges with prejudice - I'm not familiar with Minnesota law) and the case should be over.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for a dismissal or acquittal. This is not your granddaddy’s justice system. Building frustration is a strategy of the left. Nothing more they want than for us to know the kid is innocent but to convict him anyway. The underlying strategy of this administration is to foment anger and frustration. All they want is an opportunity to come down hard and publicly on any dissent or resistance. Then they will label any protester as a domestic terrorist, and will proceed on a pretense of guilt by association. Democrats are itching to use the full force of the government against anyone who dares to object to their miscarriage of Justice and general overreach.

There are pictures of the guy holding his gun after he had been shot. A chunk of his arm was missing as he was screaming in pain, going down to his knees. Obviously his arm nerves and muscles were not working so that he could drop the gun, it was stuck in his grip. It is clear evidence that he was pointing a gun at Rittenhouse at the moment of the shooting.

The case can't be dismissed. It is far too political and a dismissal would cause untold pain to the hard leftists in the dem party. After all, the typists in the media already have written their stories about the coming guilty verdict. But the prosecutors are either painfully stupid or simply doing their level best to bring a botched case before the public with plenty of appeal possibilities. If you can't dismiss the case as the prosecutor, then lose the case and move up the democrat political food chain. Plus a loss of this case will serve the fascist left far better - riots as far as the media can see!

Rittenhouse will be found not guilty. After Rittenhouse is acquitted, look for him to sue the City of Kenosha - for a lot of money. The only reason Rittenhouse was arrested and charged in the first place by that Kenosha DA was due to the msm, the court of public opinion, and Grosskreutz bearing false witness at the scene. The msm must be reprimanded severely for its fake reporting that Rittenhouse was the criminal in this case and should be fried or injected for it. That Kenosha DA should be dis-barred for this travesty. Grosskreutz is the one who should have been arrested and charged with felony menacing with a hand gun and lying to police while carrying a handgun without a permit. The one thing I would tell anyone - when walking the streets anywhere in the middle of a disturbance especially in this era of TDS, don't go it alone. And know your local gun laws. I don't know if Rittenhouse was at the time aware of the laws of self-defense. But, Grosskreutz's testimony reveals that he did. All of this because certain people in Kenosha hated Trump and they wanted Rittenhouse to be another Trump poster child.

Grosskreutz was part of the pillaging property destroying riot not there to help but cause mayhem. If Grosskreutz was present as a medic, why did he point a fully loaded Glock 22 (duty sized with 15+1 capacity of .40 S&W) at Rittenhouse unless he meant to kill him? For his trouble, the ACLU affiliated Grosskreutz managed to get his right bicep blown off by Rittenhouse's AR-15, and his testimony should lose the prosecution's case. He's lucky the kid didn't kill him, too. Point a loaded weapon at a cop or an armed defender and see what happens. Grosskreutz is lucky he didn't catch a round in a vital place.

Kyle Rittenhouse is the star witness in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. And today the 18-year-old took the stand, testifying that he acted in self-defense when he shot three men, ultimately killing two, during unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on August 25, 2020. The testimony was arguably the climax in the proceedings against Rittenhouse, who is facing multiple homicide charges and has become symbolic of just about everything the viewer wants to see. To many on the left, he's a vigilante upholding racist structures; to some on the right, a protector who filled a void left by law enforcement. But there was another courtroom fixture centerstage on Monday: Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger, who

We won’t know the final answer to this until the jury comes back, of course, but perhaps Kyle Rittenhouse’s decision to testify isn’t as “insane” as it first looked. With prosecutors seemingly doing their level best to establish all of the elements of self-defense for Rittenhouse, putting the 18-year-old defendant on the stand and subject him to cross-examination appeared to be a pointless risk. Not so, writes our friend Andrew McCarthy at National Review. While the testimony took place today, McCarthy reminded readers that a refusal to testify would also have been a risk. And given how badly prosecutors had performed already, the gamble here was calculated

Today Kyle Rittenhouse took the stand to testify in his own defense. I was glad to see it. Commentators always say how risky it is for a criminal defendant to testify, but not testifying is risky too–the overwhelming majority of criminal defendants who don’t testify are convicted. And in my opinion, Rittenhouse had a good story to tell. Victoria Tate has an account of Rittenhouse’s direct testimony at PJ Media. It sounds as though the testimony was gripping, and he did well, describing the verbal and physical threats and assaults made against him by the three men whom he shot, he says, in self-defense. Kyle Rittenhouse’s defense attorneys said Wednesday that they will file for a mistrial with prejudice, citing constitutional violations and misconduct by the prosecution. Kenosha County Judge Bruce Schroeder said he would take the motion under advisement. Should he declare a mistrial, Rittenhouse would be released and the state would not be permitted to re-try him on the same charges. The motion for a mistrial was filed in response to Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger’s cross examination of Rittenhouse, which he began by implying that the defendant’s silence ahead of the trial was potentially incriminating. Rittenhouse’s attorney objected to the line of questioning.

Remember when inflation was supposed to be “transitory”? Good times, good times. Instead it appears to be accelerating, even more than yesterday’s look at wholesale prices suggested. The consumer price index hit its highest annual inflation rate in 31 years last month, and the blow to households is both powerful and broad: Inflation across a broad swath of products that consumers buy every day was even worse than expected in October, hitting its highest point in more than 30 years, the Labor Department reported Wednesday. The consumer price index, which is a basket of products ranging from gasoline and health care to groceries and rents, rose 6.2% from a year ago.

Consumer prices grew far faster than expected in October, according to data released Wednesday by the Labor Department. The consumer price index (CPI), which tracks inflation for a range of staple goods and services, rose 0.9 percent last month and 6.2 percent in the 12-month period ending in October, the highest rate in the U.S. in 30 years. Analysts broadly expected the CPI to rise by 0.5 percent last month, up from a gain of 0.4 percent in August, and 5.8 percent over the past year. The sharp jump in the inflation rate is a dismal sign for President Biden and Democrats as they face growing pressure over rising pieces.

California’s full vaccination rate (62%) is higher than places like Florida (60) and Texas (54), where state leaders do not enforce mask policies or support strict mandates. The Golden State has seen a surge of more than 60% in new cases in the last two weeks, compared to a 20% drop in the Sunshine State.

"But, there are clearly factors that have come together to create the situation that we're in now." Slowing the spread is critical right now to prevent Vermont's hospitals from being overwhelmed with people sick with the virus, Levine said.
