Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas issued a new memo Friday seeking to cancel the Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” border policy that helped solve the previous migrant surge. The move comes even as Mr. Mayorkas is trying to restart the program under a federal judge’s injunction. US Border Patrol recorded more migrant deaths on the US southern border in fiscal year 2021 than in any prior year on record, according to data shared by the agency Thursday. There were 557 Southwest border deaths during the fiscal year, which ended September 30. That's up from 254 deaths in fiscal year 2020 and 300 deaths in 2019, marking a significant increase amid a 30-record year for border crossings. The agency data on deaths dates to 1998.

Police in Northern Virginia are increasing their presence around shopping malls and high-volume roads and transit areas in response to a purported threat from ISIS. A law enforcement source told CBS News the recent threat against a mall in Northern Virginia this Halloween weekend originated from ISIS. President Biden said that Pope Francis, during their meeting Friday in Vatican City, told him that he should continue to receive communion, amid heightened scrutiny of the Catholic president's pro-abortion policies. The president, following the approximately 90-minute-long meeting, a key part of his trip to Italy for the G20, told reporters details of their discussions.
Biden said that Francis told him that he should keep receiving communion. The president said the pope blessed his rosary, and added that they discussed fighting climate change as part of his Build Back Better agenda.

South High students are still shaken by what they saw in the lunchroom Wednesday. There are multiple videos showing the moments when one girl apparently attacked another over a cafeteria table.
Another angle shows a student attacking the girl with overhand blows. In another, you can even see the knife on the table.
The other students' just watched the girl get stabbed and they tried to justify their actions later!
"Everybody was mostly shocked that she had a knife during the fight cause I don't think they realized until after," said Andre Robinson, South High student.
